Antiquitease: Color October 18th '07 Discussion

The looks on the site are beautiful! I'm thrilled that I can finally see how they did the Antiquitease look. It is so stunning! I have nearly everything to make it too! YAY! But Queen's Sin looks really elegant too. I love this collection so much. I think I'm having way too much fun with it.

I'm wondering about the textures of the new pigments! I live about 200 miles away from the nearest counter so can't check these out in person anytime soon - but if those who have could let us know what current pigments these new ones resemble, I would really really appreciate it!

I think they are really gimmicky. That being said, they've grown on me, and I like the finish of them, which is shiny. I'm a fan. The color pay-off isn't as good as with traditional shadows, but I find they are great for quick application when you don't have a ton of time, or to layer over other shadows because the finish is metallic/shiny. I love the finish.

Okay, I checked out this collection today.

I really could not allow myself to buy anything. It was one of the worst collections I have witnessed since being a MAC addict.
The only thing I was considering was Budding Lust Lipstick. The duos were too shimmery and just boring colors. The lipglosses, were boring. The fluidline was pretty much Gorgeous Gold in a fluidline, which did not interest me.
The pigments were neither here or there, nothing special about them. The nail polish was pretty much the same as a gold one you could get at the 99 cent store.

This is just my own 2 cents.

Thank you so much for your assesment, it just saved me some cash. The only think I was interested in was the red lipstick and lip glosses and the pigments. I can now cross the pigments off my list.

Always try and check out a collection. What might not be interesting to one person could be awesome for another. Like C-shock

so true! i was at the local counter today and one of my favorite mua's was unpacking some of the stuff for next week so i got to look at that, let me say, very exciting. also, i am going back on thursday for a makeover and then i am going to purchase some stuff from what i got to see today of the Antiq-Color collection. i dont think i will be able to concentrate much on work tomorrow, lucky for me, tomorrow will be an easy day of substitute teaching.

Ahhh.

I'm going to the event at Oak St. on Thursday with my sister. Hopefully this stuff impresses me (except in the case of my pocket, which wishes quite the opposite.)

Awww. I wish I could go... really I do. Lol. I work Mon-Fri 8am-4pm so it's hard for me to get somewhere and then have to be home at 9pm to sleep.

I feel the pain of the wallet as well. I'm spending WAYYYY too much this holiday. I love royal stuff though, so this collection has me by the female-testes.

Without an acutal side by side comparison, it reminded me of Shimmertime Pigment and Amber Lights e/s

Well that settles it for me. I was hoping the pink was sort of like Petticoat (because that's what I was reminded of looking at pictures) but since I own Shimmertime and I don't *really* need another gold, I guess I'm all good.


Now, earthly riches and family silver - I hope I won't regret not purchasing those...
