On the topic of luxe looking makeup: if you guys want luxe, high class makeup...why are you buying MAC? Not to bash you, or MAC, but MAC is really the candy store equivelent of the makeup counters at Macys or Nordstroms. Its sound sharsh but really, every time i go to mac i have to slip through crowds of 16 year old girls begging their moms for a pink lipgloss

If ya'll wanna impress someone or make a good impression, pull out a beautiful Chanel lipstick or a Dior Mascara. Thats luxe right there imo lol

I am not looking to impress anyone or make a good impression with my make up, that is what intelligence, personality and work ethic is for.

I love mac for the quality, the outside of the box colors and the wonderful innovation of products (like the greasepaint sticks etc). I have plenty of Chanel and YSL makeup for the luxe quality but Mac also does great luxe packaging sometimes and I prefer when they go in that direction.

With all that being said I still do not want to pull out a cartoon charechtar on my lipstick tube, not because of what OTHER people think, just because it is my own personal opinion and likes/dislikes.

I hope that clears that up for you.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I respect yours and you should respect mine.

I was just making an example, why some people might want different things.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes its what makes the world interesting!!

I buy Mac and I buy Chanel. I think they are both luxe but in a different way. Mac is the trendy one and Chanel is the classy one. The quality is good with both of them and that's what counts for me. If a 16-year-old likes Mac, does it immediately become not luxe? I thought Chanel was the best when I was 15 so here you go.

I buy make up just for me, not to impress someone (I really don't know why would you even write here something like that?) and I'm pretty sure everyone else here does the same. It's your treat for yourself! Make up is hidden in your purse and only you know it's there.
I've yet to met a person who shows off a lipstick and screams to everybody around that THIS IS CHANEL - LOOK, to make someone jealous of her make up. Maybe this could happen with kids in school but I've come to understand that we are adults here?

If I like the other collection packaging and themes that Mac does better than Hello Kitty/Disney etc., that is just my preference. I like Mac, that's why i buy it. I just prefer the other themes. I did a major haul when HK came out, but that was because I liked the products and I tolerated the cat face there (but I loved the pink glitter on the packaging!
winkiss.gif
). I do like when it's different and fun, like I really liked the look of heatherette, neo-scifi, lure, moonbathe and style warriors!

Heatherette, Hello Kitty, Hello Kitty Kouture, and Fafi are my favorite MAC packagings ever. Even though I buy MAC for the quality. I don't show off my MAC just to make someone jealous of what I got.

I hope it's not Hello Kitty again. I don't like HK and I prefer not to have it on my packaging. Plus, I wasn't a huge fan of the collection.

I'd be on board for Disney Villians, but NOT Disney 'Princesses'. Ugh. Among other things, it would make myself think of being a five year old putting on makeup. (Though I never did that. I was a total Tomboy.)

I think I'd prefer a designer's collection, though, to be safe.

Definatley i respect your opinion.

Buy you DID say that you dont want to pull out a lipstick with a cartoon character on it because it wouldnt be accepted in "the fashion industry of manhatten". So to me it seemed like you were trying to make a good impression with makeup among the other things you listed above^, which it not a terrible thing at all to me. And im sure that you make a good impressions anyway!

Just IMO i dont think Mac is that luxe, but some peope dont love Nars eyeshadows as much as i do, or think that UDPP is as overrated as i think it is. And like you said above we need to respect eachother, and agree to disagree.

If you read what I had actually said you would see that I wrote " I am in my 20's and I still dont want to be whipping a cartoon character cosmetic out of my bag. That wont work in the fashion industry of manhattan. Imagine the boss in Devil Wears Prada movie....a goofy lipstick wont work in that situation!" there is nothing in there about me feeling like I wouldn't be accepted. Impressing people with makeup or anything materialistic is pretty lame. Acceptance is not based on what you own, well at least not with anyone over the age of 12 years old.

Anyway.... back to the topic I am looking forward to the Vivienne Westwood collection if that is not a rumor, but who knows!!

I was ordering yesterday dazzlepuss dazzleglass and was thinking that was part of Hello kitty part 2, so if there would be any right now it would be part 3 and it seems very little likely to me

See, I feel this same way-- I thought the HK collection was surprisingly well done, but usually I prefer to have nice, creative packaging- sans cartoon characters. I am not interested in anything Disney, and I'm kind of relieved the villains collection is a rumor, because I didn't even like any of the villains anyways- they were villains!

I mean, if it's tastefully done like the Barbie collection, then I'm down with it, but the Fafi stickers on the quads for example, were a little tacky- maybe not necessarily the design, but the way it was executed with peeling off and stuff...dunno, just my opinion

Well, actually part 4....

We had Mild Kitty, Wild Kitty and Kitty Couture.

I think that Spring Color Forecast will be next year's Valentine's collection. So not a theme inspired collection this time. It will be a huge collection with four parts - who knows if it has special packaging??

My fave special packaging is Barbie, Heatherette and Hello Kitty BTW. I did not like Fafi and Neo Sci-Fi at all.

I have seen the following collection names on an event calender. These are the only big events happening in winter and spring, as of now.

Spring Color Waves (Or something to that effect)

Prêt-À-Papier (again, or something to that effect)

Too Fabulous

I know the Spring color collection has already been discussed but the other two sound interesting.
