I'd say lips bag over the lip palette because I would be so OCD about getting the palette all messy and getting all the colors mixed up that I would hate it! lol!

I can't stand messy lip palette. So I vote for lip bag as well.

I know I read earlier in this forum that the LE brushes aren't always as good as the regular brushes... in the opinion of you MAC experts, do you think it's better to buy them separately, or are these sets a good deal? I mean... obviously 5 brushes for $50 are wayyy better than retail... but are these brushes themselves going to be useful? Maybe I should look up some brush reviews...

Here's a reply to a similar question in another thread.

For all the fact ferrets in the bunch. I found this on an article about the 'lipstick theory' of the economy.

Lipstick, which dates back at least 5,000 years, has often colored significant moments in history. Cleopatra had her lipstick made from crushed carmine beetles for a deep red pigment that used ants as its base.

Carmine beetles=red! I get this collection now.

I was told they are made with the same material as the regular ones with the difference that the holidays set aren't made by hands...are made by machines. I hope this will help you to decide

I'm actually looking for like... the usefulness of the brush itself. I juuust started getting into MAC, but I'm thinking that they probably don't put their absolute most popular brushes in these sets... So how useful are the brushes alone - full size or LE - was more my question... lol I'm so horrible at explaining this though.

Thanks for the response! :]

actually they do put the popular ones and they are great at that price but the hair used in sets is not always premium quality. i would say if that the 187 is the most popular brush and i have 2 full size and one from a holiday set the quality is vey good in comparison but i can't say the same about the 217(very useful and popular

that's not true. if you look at the brushes (especially 129). the color and quality of the hair for full size and SE are very different (the cut and amount of hair used are different as well)

personaly i don't like these SE brushes at all. i want MAC brushes for the quality. sure the SEs are cheaper, but you can get brushes of similar quality to the SE from other brands for even cheaper

The Rose lip set is absolutely gorgeous!! I'm so happy I got it. Now the question is what else do I want? The rose lip bag was the only thing I purchased at first... because it was the only sure thing I wanted. Hhmm... maybe that's all I'm going to get.
