im very new to pigments.. and i was wondering.. are you supposed to wear this wet? like spray the brush with fix + or something? or will it not blend the pigments so well?

say if i wanted to wear them on the crease can i do that with a blending brush or do i have to pat it on with a mac 239 only? (sorry newb question haha)

Postman brought me today my order of 11 MAC pigment samples including Partylicious and Later. I'm not as impressed as I thought I would be. Compared to the other pigments I got today, these two are "flat". For example I liked the re-formulated Teal pigment better than either of these two. I don't mean that I don't like these. They're still fab. I just don't like these as much I thought I would. In general I prefer the "lumpier" pigments over the powdery ones (e.g. smoke signals, dark soul, naked).

Haven't tried these on yet, tough.

you can wear pigments wet or dry. sometimes i use fix+, other times i use water based mixing medium from mac pro. depends on what is nearest to me!

lol! sometimes if i want it wet in the crease i apply it with a damp 219 brush and then use a 222 to blend out with some dry pigment

Try Later. and Partylicious wet.

Those are "powdery" Because they're either Matte pigments, or near-matte. So, you prefer frosty pigments over Matte ones then.

Yes, I'll try these wet tomorrow.

About these Naked, Dark Soul and these two being matte or near-matte. I'm not sure of I fully agree with that. Dark Soul and Naked both have tons of sparkle (you can see that even more clearly if you press these pigments). Also Dark Soul is labeled as "Frost" on MAC website. Naked is labeled as "Matte" though.

I also have to say that the following descriptions don't really make me expect matte or near-matte finish: Turquoise with silver pearl and Black with transforming pearl. But that's just me.

No. That is the flat shipping rate when you order something from a MAC store, Pro or otherwise.

When I called the MAC 1-800 they didn't charge me shipping. She said they would waive the fee since it was sold out in my area.

What are you ladies wearing with Partylicious pigment? I love it with Mutiny on the inner lid, but can never figure out what to put on the crease.

the 800# is customer service, not mac pro (tho you can order pro products from that number).

the $7 is a flat shipping rate from FSS and PRO stores. that's what she meant by pro.

After reading NotteRequiem's tip to juse these pigments wet, I played last night with both Partylicious and Later. I tried both pigments wet and dry. With UDPP and/or white eye pencil. Partylicious is a really fab color when used wet. So bright and strong. It's almost too much to handle
lol.gif
. With white base the color is a little brighter and more bue than without the white base.

For some reason I can't make Later look as stunning as Partylicious. If used dry, the color isn't special. When used wet, I can't blend it or build coverage (the pigment just moves from one spot to another)
th_dunno.gif
. There's also a lot of fall out. I guess I'll need to try Later over black base.

Today I wore Partylicious at work. I just washed my face and yes, turquoise lids over here too. To complete the look I have also turquoise finger tips after removing ChG Rodeo Fanatic nail polish.

When I wore both wet, I only put PArtylicious wet where it was going to be on the lid. In the crease, I used Later. wet and used a pencil brush to get the shape, then I used a little of the dry Later. pigment to blend out. It takes some work, but once you can get a feel for how they work, it'll get easier
