I got my package on Thursday and have had a chance to play with the goodies I picked up.
I bought all three Lip glosses and two lipsticks: Prive and Treasured.
Starting with the lipglosses, the texture is wonderful - they feel like the Cremesheen glasses except these have sparkle. They feel great on the lips, but as others have mentioned, the only one with color payoff is D'nouveau. The others you can sorta see some hint of shimmery color when first applied, but after a half an hour or so you can kiss that hint of color goodbye (at least on my lips). But they feel great on , really nice and smooth, not sticky at all and they do give a nice shine. Also they have a brush applicator (which I prefer over a doe foot wand). There's 2.7 g of product in case anyone is curious about that.
So he product is okay, nothing super fabulous, but the packaging!!! As much as I hate to admit it, I am a sucker for pretty packaging.
And on the lip glosses it is is *gorgeous* So pretty and elegant. And although $22 is a lot for MAC, compared to other brands, $22 isn't completely outrageous (YSL, Dior, Chanel. Even UD procket rockets are $19).
As far as the lipsticks go, Treasures is the standout. It is a perfect nude for my NW20 self. It doesn't standout in the tube, but OMG on the lips it is perfect. I would very seriously consider buying a second tube of this to keep ion my purse, if it wasn't sold out online. It is the prefect go to, simple, but made up lip. Because the lippies are Cremesheens, there is good color payoff and both have a slight shine and are not drying. I think Treasured has an ever so slight shimmer that gives the nude color some dimension and keeps it from looking like you just slathered concealer on the lips. (Which a lot of nudes do to me).
Prive I don't think is all that special. If you have Creme Cup or Angel or Pink Plaid, you have a close enough dupe that Prive is totally unnecessary. I have to apply Prive with a lighter hand otherwise it just looks not right on me - too Porn Star-esque (I have the same issues with Saint Germain). There is 4.3g of product - so more than the usual 3g. in regular MAC lippies. I prefer the shape of the actual lipstick better than the usual MAC shape. The shape is fatter and wider, which I prefer for putting on my lips. (This probably sounds weird - I'm not sure I explained it well
).
I did not get Baroque Boudoir color since it looked too brown for my complexion, but I bet it would look really pretty on others.
The lipstick packaging is nice, but it doesn't wow me necessarily. It's pretty - and I prefer the shape over the usual bullet shaped cases (I like to stand my lipsticks upside down so I can easily see the name on the bottom) but nothing nearly as stunning as the lip glosses.
Overall, I am really glad that I purchased what I did and I will be keeping everything. If anyone still has a chance to get their hands on Treasured, it is definitely the standout product.
