Good choice, Jac! There is nothing in this collection that is a must-have, IMO. Some of the colors are nice and average, but as I said it, they're just average and normal so nothing particularly outstanding from here. Don't worry, you'll be fine skipping this collection.

I got my package on Thursday and have had a chance to play with the goodies I picked up.
I bought all three Lip glosses and two lipsticks: Prive and Treasured.

Starting with the lipglosses, the texture is wonderful - they feel like the Cremesheen glasses except these have sparkle. They feel great on the lips, but as others have mentioned, the only one with color payoff is D'nouveau. The others you can sorta see some hint of shimmery color when first applied, but after a half an hour or so you can kiss that hint of color goodbye (at least on my lips). But they feel great on , really nice and smooth, not sticky at all and they do give a nice shine. Also they have a brush applicator (which I prefer over a doe foot wand). There's 2.7 g of product in case anyone is curious about that.
So he product is okay, nothing super fabulous, but the packaging!!! As much as I hate to admit it, I am a sucker for pretty packaging.

And on the lip glosses it is is *gorgeous* So pretty and elegant. And although $22 is a lot for MAC, compared to other brands, $22 isn't completely outrageous (YSL, Dior, Chanel. Even UD procket rockets are $19).

As far as the lipsticks go, Treasures is the standout. It is a perfect nude for my NW20 self. It doesn't standout in the tube, but OMG on the lips it is perfect. I would very seriously consider buying a second tube of this to keep ion my purse, if it wasn't sold out online. It is the prefect go to, simple, but made up lip. Because the lippies are Cremesheens, there is good color payoff and both have a slight shine and are not drying. I think Treasured has an ever so slight shimmer that gives the nude color some dimension and keeps it from looking like you just slathered concealer on the lips. (Which a lot of nudes do to me).
Prive I don't think is all that special. If you have Creme Cup or Angel or Pink Plaid, you have a close enough dupe that Prive is totally unnecessary. I have to apply Prive with a lighter hand otherwise it just looks not right on me - too Porn Star-esque (I have the same issues with Saint Germain). There is 4.3g of product - so more than the usual 3g. in regular MAC lippies. I prefer the shape of the actual lipstick better than the usual MAC shape. The shape is fatter and wider, which I prefer for putting on my lips. (This probably sounds weird - I'm not sure I explained it well

).
I did not get Baroque Boudoir color since it looked too brown for my complexion, but I bet it would look really pretty on others.
The lipstick packaging is nice, but it doesn't wow me necessarily. It's pretty - and I prefer the shape over the usual bullet shaped cases (I like to stand my lipsticks upside down so I can easily see the name on the bottom) but nothing nearly as stunning as the lip glosses.

Overall, I am really glad that I purchased what I did and I will be keeping everything. If anyone still has a chance to get their hands on Treasured, it is definitely the standout product.

I saw this collection in person today. I only saw all three lipglasses, both the Sheer Mystery Powder compacts and the clutch. I didn't bother to swatch the lipglasses since I've heard that both The Lap of Luxury and Preciousness are too sheer while D'Nouveau has some color payoff. Still skipping this collection like I said in my post.

I don't know anything about that!!! The piano tunning thing: Weird. I hadn't any problem at all when trying to get a visa... is just it's such a large, disgusting, stressing, exhausting process!!! I wish I hadn't to go through it.

Yeah! Although perhaps the packaging seems lovely (the collections hasn't arrived here), i don't find any item as a must have either. I'm skipping too.

Although I'm glad you're happy with your goodies, I do find outrageous the price for the lipglosses. As stated, Chanel and Dior are $19, that's $3 difference and they do have color pay off and last a long time on lips. So, for me, it's not worth it.

Excellent point

I'd rather get a Dior or a Chanel lipgloss because you get what you pay for.

*somebody* is making me wannnnnt Treasured *ahem!* lol
greengrin.gif

I already wanted it but forced it off my list. It is really pretty. I don't know my shade but I'm sure I'm not far off from a NW/NC20 ... Swirlgirl, have you seen any swatches that you feel closely match how it looks on you? Say for instance temptalia's swatch? It look so great. Do let me know if you can

I may trade TLOL for it

In the US Chanel glosses (both Aqualumiere and Glossimer) are $27 and Dior (my favorite happens to be Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect) is $25.50.
Just sayin'...

Although both Chanel and Dior are ten times better for color pay off than any of the Baroque Boudoir glosses. I like the MAC Baroque Boudoir glosses and am not returning them, but they are definitely not a must have, unless the packaging really floats your boat. (Which it does for me - and I don't mind touching up mid day with a gloss like this when I'm not necessarily looking to add color to my lips). Plus the texture is just really nice - like Cremesheen glosses (which have a thinner consistency than regular Lipglass), whcih I really like.
I am not trying to enable anyone or saying everyone should go drop $22 on a sheer gloss.

TeresitaMC - I'll try and take a picture later today of treasured on me. I am a a shade or so lighter and pinker, with naturally more pink lips than Temptalia, but yes, her lip swatches are really accurate. I may apply my color slightly heavier than she does in the treasured pic though....But it is definitely an accurate picture and a good indication of what the color looks like on. In the tube it doesn't really look like much, but it really is beautiful on. Hope that helps and I'll try and get a pic later today.

That's a good idea! I may just do that with these

Perfect!

Thank you so much for the info! It does help, since I found the colour of Treasured in her swatch to be so lovely and be a shade I would love on myself!!

You're right, Chanel glosses are $27 USD, my mistake. I'm really glad you're enjoying your Baroque Boudoir goodies, but as I said I found them not worthy for me.

For Teresita MC, here are some pics of Treasured on my hand and on me.
My first picture post on Specktra!! I am hardly wearing any makeup...it was a lazy Sunday day in my house and I didn't get made up. I am just wearing mascara and Treasured. So ignore the blotchy skin.
It's less coral-y looking IRL and more of a true nude-beige.
