MAC - Brunette Blonde Redhead Collection Discussion

soooo i got my MAC order in today:

the 226 brush really is amazing. it's not nearly as soft as the 224, but not as stiff as the 217/222. it's inbetween those brushes--great for the crease!

i also accidently got sent 100 strokes. i initially decided not to get this shade because of it's similarity to sketch. i swatched both, and 100 strokes is more brown, whereas sketch is more purple on me. i kind of like it & think it's different enough on ME to have both.

i'll try to do a swatch comparison tomorrow!

Aww, Rach, there's nothing wrong with you. I feel like that, too sometimes. I think it's good to be conscious of these things so that you don't spend yourself into oblivion. Bimbo magic that you find inspiration soon!

I have many brushes from doing make up years ago but am finding it hard to stay away from these brushes. I keep thinking about another brush I could substitute and I don't believe that I have any. The big domed one looks like Cinema Secrets Baby O but fimer. And the smudgie smudge

brush is a must have and the 226 well I have lots that are close but close in this cirumstance don't cut it.

100 strokes is the only one that grabbed my interest after reading the dupes because it is similiar, but I am a big Sketch fan!

Personally, I'm quite the shy person IRL so I'm not always sure what to say either. But I do lurk most days (sorry!) and find myself cracking up because the girls on here are so funny (Mrs. Rbella for one!

). And btw, Rbella, your post about your hubby made me sad

i'm a huge Sketch fan, too! it's one of my faves. the color is gorgeous & it goes with anything! i think 100 Strokes has just as much potential.

I saw the infamous Wedding Gown as well...beautiful! I, actually, have a sewing pattern for that style. It's interesting because that style has been extremely popular and as a collector of good sewing patterns it's interesting what trends are, eventually, or even finally getting made into a patterns and at what time. Obviously, prom season.

This I learned the hard way when I was trying to create a Mermaid/Fishtail gown with a little bit of a train on it in the month of Jan for an event.

Could not find a basic, simple pattern to save my life! I had to make the pattern by scratch with a princess pattern.

The next Spring/Summer all the Mermaid gown patterns were for the asking by every brand!

This style had the same fate, when you wanted the pattern there was none to be had and you had to pay top dollar for the real McCoy. Fashion's FUN!!!

Rach-seriously, I hardly buy anymore because, well to be honest, I'm just kinda bored with it. I am having a hard time finding inspiration for new looks. I don't know if this is how you are feeling, but it is for me. I even tried looking at other brands. MUFE, which I love, was an option, but I just don't feel the same way about makeup as I used to. I think it is b/c we are struggling a little bit economically right now (my husband and I).
