That's what I was thinking at first to. I bought it for the teal. I'm sorta obsessed with the color! lol. But all I could think of was, how will I wear these....?


For the past 2 days, this duo has been my BFF!

I will recreate and take a pic tomorrow, but what i did was this...

Melba blush in my crease to blend out
The brown color from the duo all over lid blended in to melba
Black liner/mascara
Teal color from duo on top of otherwordly pp on my lower lashline


I was super pleased with how it came out, that I wore it 2 days in a row. I NEVER do that! =) It was also very easy and quick to do! I was super determined to get a combo with the 2 going, so It wasn't like I wasted $$ for just one color. And I accomplished that. Go me! ;) lol.

After seeing the swatches I went to check these out yesterday. Disappointing. For some reason, to me, they looked dull and a couple of the testers were starting to crumble. The brushes were pretty though.

oh no!! that's not good! maybe somebody got too heavy handed with them?! lol!

I happened to pop into Nordstrom's today to see if they had some shoes I've been stalking for the last month. The MAC counter is right across from shoes so you know I had to wander over there. I swatched all of the eyeshadows in this collection and my opinion is they are very hit and miss. The color combos they are offering are very nice how ever one shadow will have great pigmentation and the other one would not. The one that consistently had great pay off for both shadows was the one with the teal and the ocher. I wanted to wear the ocher on my lid and the teal in the crease/over v with a hint of carbon. Alas for me the ocher is my EXACT skin color so you couldn't see it. I don't feel bad skipping this collection. I'm sure someone will find a way to make most if not all of these work. I guess I'm just not that person.

i guess i will just sit and wait patiently for the empty duos to become available stateside. i can really get with having a few for my MU bag.

Since the colors have no names, I am sure they will make their way back around... heck! we may have even seen them before in some way, shape or form.

The duo's packages are really nice. Extremely strong magnet, which would be amazing for traveling. I know I'll never bring my mac palette with me... but the duos just might come along :)

I got 1 and 5 and I am loving them! I'm going to pick up the aqua/camel one next time I'm there! Also, the smokey brown eye kit is amazingness in a box! Gonna try to get my hands on the black kit too!

I looked at this collection a couple of days ago. Unfortunately I only liked one of the shadows in some of the duos, so I passed on those. I did not want to pay for two shadows and only use one (that would be $25 for one shadow). The eye kits are nice, but once again I passed. I am not a fan of the bulky box setup of these kits, though the colors are nice. The brushes are cute, but I decided that I would rather invest in some of the permanent brushes than spend $$ on these. So the whole collection ended up being a pass for me.

I like the yellow and purple one. The teal looks nice but similar to a teal in a Lancome quad I just bought and I haven't even really used that color yet. I like the colored brushes but I'll probably skip this collection. Well, that is the plan for now unless I see them in person and they look better.
