MAC Cosmetics Dame Edna Discussion Part II

Not sure if this was mentioned but Gladiola seems to be just a shade lighter as compared to Violetta l/s. So you could use a lighter pink purple gloss with Violetta or dab some Pink Nouveau to get a shade close to Gladiola. It looks like Pink Nouveau and Violetta had a baby, Gladiola

I tried Hot Frost over Gladiola and it looked gorg

but it removed some purple undertones and made it rather deep berry pink somehow

Now I feel an urge for a truly bluish purple gloss, maybe the lavender one from Cream Team

Like I wasn't digging all the brands I could get my hands on for those glosses already!

They just look so flattering on lips, I mean lavenders and blue purples

And Wisteria e/s in the trio is amazing, it's a very nice light milky-blue that is moderately pigmented and buildable. It doesn't turn into a turquoise green on me like most light blues do. Didn't try it without a primer though.

Dame Edna was released yesterday, I couldn't get Hot frost lipglass, they didn't get shipment of it or of Kanga rouge...I am so disappointed

That is just awful! Hope you're feeling better about it though.

Similar shades to Kangarouge are MAC Red (more bluish), Red She Said (more pinkish), or Brave Red cremesheen (much more sheer and also no blue; but it's creamy, if that's what you're looking for). HTH!

I'm not really into lipglasses so I can't help you out with close dupes.

Anyways, really hope that you'll be able to get KangaRouge and Hot Frost somehow!

I think I might go swatch Gladiola today before I clock in at work...I might buy it. God, I need to stop buying from DE.

I don't even know if I'm going to be able to afford HE

I have to pay for my tuition and books for this semester since I've decided to head back to school. Not to mention, I had to pay for my practical exam that I have to take on the 28th to get my Facialist License (esthetician). Uggh!

I'm hoping my bf will be kind enough to buy what I want for Valentines day:
HE Brush Collection
Strayin' and Fashion Mews lippies
Nice Kitty Gloss
Tippy and Fun & Games Blush
Pretty Baby Beauty Powder
And finally, the plush doll!

What have you bought from Dame Edna so far? There are some things that are really worth getting though. IMO those items are the lippies and nail lacquer. And maybe the eyeshadow palette, if you don't have any colors like those.

The stuff that you said you needed to pay for, textbooks and what not, they don't come cheap. So I guess you better give them more priority than makeup when planning your budget, since those are "needs" while makeup is more of a "want".

Actually my love for MAC had been dying down during the past few months. But Dame Edna collection had my love for MAC starting to restore back again which I feel so surprise. As from the promo pics, I dont think its is a pretty enough collection to spend money on.

But after seeing the stuffs IRL, wow I think they are quite unique & pretty in colors. So far, I had purchase all 3 lipsticks, Hot Frost lipglass, both eyeshadow trios and both nail lacquers.

All my money are well spent imo

You practically purchased the whole collection, except the highlight powders and 2 l/g. Shouldn't you consider PNP as well? I think that's the prettist l/g out of the 3. Haha. How is the texture of the e/s? Chill is another awesome collection that I'm loving right now.

At the NYC pro store??? I'm surprised, they are usually pretty cool about that. It also depends on who's there.
