MAC - Cult of Cherry Discussion

I have Bitter, Eyepopping, Pagan, and Sour Lemon... I'm sure I have other acid greens but those are the only ones I can think of at the moment. The closest is definitely Eyepopping. Not an exact match I'm sure (I am not able to compare right next to each other yet), but they both have a gentle metallic/pearl texture to them. Bitter is not as blendable and is flatter with a gentle sparkle since it is a satin.

And Darkish, I LOVE YOUR NEW AVATAR. You're so cute. Nanogold is indeed a unique lustre. It doesn't have that chunky pearl pigment texture and has less fallout. I can think of a million better colors to have included in the quad other than Nanogold, but it isn't terrible.

So, I went to MAC today and some of the MAs were using the new collection..

OMG their lips, were so dark and ready for fall!

I REALLY want to try all those dark lipsticks but at the same time, I'm scared. haha...

I was looking at the Tempting quad and the green color is VERY bright than what is actually shown on the pictures. Sharp looks similar to Pagen or Lime or something.

I'm really not feeling the Tempting quad as of right now.

Spiced quad is nice I just wish that I didn't have Nanogold. hahah S**T.

I don't know anymore. MAC surprise me with your greatness. hahaha...

Thank you. x3 So I'm guessing that Nanogold is more like... Aquadisiac then? Because if it is, then I can definitely work with that then.

What color would you have wanted in Nanogold's place? If you don't mind me asking.

I asked on Saturday at my closest Mac counter (Fenwicks, Newcastle) that they expect to have this the first Thursday in September (sept 4th). Sometimes they are out by a week or so, but it won't be before then.

We'll probably get the Overrich pigment collection at the same time.

I mentioned this a while ago, that I thought the colors looked dupable, but no one commented. Ignorance is bliss, but I will probably be skipping the quad, and that's the only one that I wanted.

I like dark lips on other people but they don't work for me. I'm on the pale side (NW15-20) and just don't feel comfortable in dark colors. I may get one of the lighter, luster lipsticks in this collection.

How about this MAC:
Can I mix Coppering with Starflashes Bold & Brazen and get Brash?
Can I use Cranberry, NYX Rust shadow or pigment, Royal Flush p/g as the red?
Can I use Embark or Folie as matte dark reddish brown and use Era or Shroom as a highlight will I get close to this quad.

P.S. I always talk big junk and then wind up getting the darn thing anyway convincing myself it is different, dealing with MAC is like being an continuous cycle of mental abuse

Has anyone had a chance to check out the OPI French collection? The colors are fantastic and there is even a royal purple that looks similar to Illegal purple. These 2 go hand in hand I say!

I think the 2007 Warm Eyes Palette is a great dupe! Valet, Limo and Embark look similar to three of the colors. Motif is a great dupe for Nanogold, and has a MUCH better texture and color payoff!

I haven't seen the OPIs yet, but CoC was my first thought when I heard about the France Collection

I am planning to check out the OPIs before I buy Illegal Purple cause I prefer OPIs formula. Have you gotten any polishes yet? Which do you have your eye on?

Ooh...sorry. I would have commented if I'd seen your post, as I can't afford much right now. I am always looking for dupes. I have about 10 MAC shadows

I saw these a few weeks ago at my counter,and then I went back in on Sat.to look at them again,and imo,Cherry Blossom is definately a lot like Cultureclash lg from Electroflash.You should get that,it is gorgeous!!

Cult of Cherry lg is actually a cool cherry red color,with a hint of bright pink,at least swatched on me it does.I don't normally like red lips,but I will be getting this.

LOL, I am guilty of buying all but 3 (didn't get the pale neutral, crepes suzi-ette and baguette me not). I must confess though, i think i want those too!

Cherry Blossom
Cult of Cherry
Jampacked
So Scarlet
Rapturous
Kirsch or Chockful or Bing

I might have to cut that down a bit though, but that's my initial plan.

I'm so curious to see Crepes Suzi-ette swatched as I'd love to have a cinnamon-coloured polish, but cinnamon can also go hideously wrong..
Yes, I see these collections go together! I wonder if I will be curageous enough to wear dark, plummy lips with dark, plummy nails this fall!

Nanogold doesn't have the colour-payoff it should have. I'm half through and I didn't even use it that much. I'd dupe it with Hush. I guess Bold&Brazen is an excellent dupe for Brash. I'm not actually bying any quad, but I'll definitively be wearing the colour combinations!
