There's definitely a lot you can do with either clear or coloured lipglosses when mixed with pigments/glitters. It helps me stick to cheaper glosses than MAC, too!

'cause, seriously, much as I love MAC? A gloss is a gloss, there are certainly much cheaper options that work quite well. Also, when it's so much cheaper, I can buy a bunch of clear and use pigments to mix up custom stuff by the tube.

They're $20 each in Canada, plus I have to pay 13% tax. I just can't justify $22.60 for a lipgloss, no matter how gorgeous. My absolute cut off for a gloss is the $16.50 plus tax that gets charged for a regular MAC lipglass, lustreglass, etcetera.

Am I alone here, in this sudden fit of rationalization?

Normally I buy back-ups when I love something, but I didn't with the Dazzleglasses. I bought a few colours and that was all I could spend. I will not buy a second Baby Sparks, no matter how much I like it.

So, in a way, you are not alone in this realization.

I have that one and I think my colouring might be similar to you.

Baby Sparks is a very easy to wear, almost neutral pale pink. It doesn't lighten anything up though, I wish it did.

ETA - does anyone know if Sugarrimmed will lighten a lipstick?

Okay gals,.. heres a small note I made tonight,.. Dazzleglasses are heck to get off a glass by either handwashing or dishwasher,.. so when you go somewhere and have a drink you'll leave your mark. LOL. They are heck to get out of clothing too. I have rags that I use to wipe my brushes and stuff on,.. Wow that stuff was persistantly not coming out. But I do love them. I have a warm/neutral fair olive complexion and I can wear all of the except the bright fushia glittered ones. I get a lot of sparkle out of mine no matter where I am at but specially in good light. Rags to Riches though is really nice no matter what since it has that silvery undertone. I wish they would get rid of lip Laquers and keep dazzleglass,.. I would never get rid of lustreglass I think that's blasphemy. LOL. Hello, my name is Sherrie and I am a Mac-a-holic. The only problem with glitter into clear gloss is the gritty-ness. You don't get any with the dazzleglass,... even mixing reflects glitters into the clear lipglass you still get a little feel of glitter on your lips. You will hear me scream when I run out of these,. no matter where you are located,.. I have banned myself from buying any more,.. I bought a shameful amount of them.

. Now I was lucky that I bought only two of them. I kept reminding myself of all the other collections this summer and how I needed to save up!

That's it! They are very expensive in Germany, too and I don't buy from ebay. Because of all the great summer collections (and think about the new holiday collection - there won't be any time to breathe in fall and winter...) I will limit myself to two Dazzleglasses! Ok, maybe three if I see them in real

I have dazzleglass in get rich quick. It looks great over a burgundy or red lipstick or even lipglass. its very shiny and glittery but still classy.

My Rags to Riches does smell funny, but I love it too much to return it. Even the tester at the counter yesterday smelled funny, but that was the only shade that smelled like that. But when you are wearing it on your lips, it doesn't smell or taste funny. If the smell or taste transferred as I put it on my lips, I'd definately return it no matter how much I love it. But, it really doesn't bother me except when I first open it. It's strange.

And, you will LOVE Like Venus!

Please, what does it mean "they smell funny"? Can you describe what they exactely smell like? There are so many of you who wrote that in this thread. I just know the "yammy MAC vanilla smell". What is the difference now?

Well all of the rest of the Dazzleglass I have tried with the exception of Rags to Riches have the traditional MAC vanilla, cake batter smell. My Rags to Riches kind of smells like a cross between that vanilla smell and plastic. It smells kind of chemically. It is very hard to describe. I stood at the counter yesterday and opened and smelled every one of the Dazzleglass testers, and Rags to Riches was the only one that smelled different. IMO, it's not the same smell that the lipglasses get when the turn bad, though. I can't quite explain it.

Thanks Audrey. If they just smell chemical and not as if they have turned bad, I can accept it

Agreed, but it makes me wonder what it is that can't be masked by the usual vanilla scent?!

Does it smell any worse then the NARS lip laquers?
