I am a pushover for blue-violets. But if the lip stuff is too red-violet or pink, it gets a pass from me.

Ursula scares me, has since I was a kid. I love her purplyness though. Even with my blue eyes, purple is my favorite color to wear.

I was strictly a blue violet and blue purple gal, but Strong Woman has sort of shifted me a little bit - that one looks great on me, so I'm more open to the redder ones now. I think my skin tone has changed over the past year in particular…dunno if it's the health related stuff or the fact that I spent a lot of time in the sun in '12 or what, but I don't get that aging effect the warmer purples used to do to me so much anymore.

That said, Talk That Talk is way better on me than FOD (although FOD is not bad). TTT is definitely bluer that FOD. I am ready for a new blue purple lippie, though - a nice deep one along the lines of Potent Fig, but more well-behaved.

I can get Potent Fig to go on evenly, but it takes extra care. First I do a light layer patted on instead of swiped. I make sure to get the inside of my lower lip very well BUT THEN, I have to let it set with my mouth hanging open for a bit. If the first layer is a bit patchy, I sometimes pat it a bit more into the lips with a finger when it's half set. When fully set, then I can do a second, heavier coat, but I've also got to let that set very well without pressing my lips together. After all this, it will wear pretty evenly, but it needs touch ups.

One thing I haven't tried yet is using a layer of it over a layer of something like Sweet Succulence or Boyfriend Stealer, which go on evenly on me and wear well. Maybe that would get it to behave. Still, a lot of extra effort - wish it wasn't such a gorgeous color!

Edit: I wish I liked it over a lip pencil - but honestly I don't much care for Mattenes over pencils covering the whole lip. I might try TTT pencil and see what happens.

This packaging keeps reminding me of Revlon, but I don't really care because I love Revlon lipsticks LOL.
