maybe electroflash e/s just work better on top of paint pots or paints? any insight would be helpful! TIA tomorrow i'll try one of these shadows w p/p or paint. i don;t wanna return them cuz i think they have excellent pigmentation! :0

i used pp or paints underneath mine and they really made the colors pop!! i dont ever put foundation on my eye...i just use UDPP then a paint or pp or shadestick even then put my shadows on. I find when i double my bases even though it's a pain i have longer staying power. I accidentally fell asleep yesterday with my make up on and when i woke up it was still the same with absolutely no creasing or anything. I know that's a big no no but i was too tired and just fell asleep. lol. It just depends on your base more then anything.

So I was inspired today to try out Hot Contrast. Funny how different these can be! I did intentionally pick one with a lot of pink veining with a little red. The end result was just so pretty and really not too dramatic. Silvery pink on the inner half of the lid, the red on the outer half and the solid black side just on the outer corner. Funny how one pot can pretty much create an entire look. All I needed to add was Blanc Type on my brow bone. Looooove.

dang stv that sounds awesome! so i may be dumb, but you were able to get a silvery pink out of hot contrast? hmmm i went to the counter today and passed on fresh green mix---lime not good for my eyes. but hot contrast--if i could get it to look like bunnybunnybunny or what you're describing--i'd be SOLD!

i swatched two to glow and man that was an orange! i don't think, at least in my mind, oranges or greens are good for me.

Does anyone having Love Connection also have Solarbits in Scatterays and Bronzescape?
Are they too close to have both?

i invested in these b/c they are kinda foolproof to me, they go on quickly, easily, great consistency --much better than last summer's m e/s, and blend great, they're already paired w/a complimetary color, for lid n crease. so it will give me a fast but professional look for work mornings...lord knows i spend too much time in the morn, making myself late many a times....

The melange side of mine is 70% pink, a bit of red, a bit of silver and a tiny bit of black. If the pink veining is mixed more with any of those colours, it probably wouldn't go on the way it did. But the MA at a MAC store also had it on and it looked pink. Actually, the pink and red mixed together made a lovely shade of reddish pink.

And the Two to Glow I have also has a ton of pink on the melange side, and this one goes on a coppery pink shade, which happens to look amazing with a little brown on the outer v. Clearly, I love pinks!

Um no, no they're not! Do you mean the MA didn't let you pick and choose? I have purchased these on three different occasions, and one of the days I went to the counter first then the f/s store, so really 4 different locations in total. Every time, the MA's were really good about letting me pick and choose. They brought out a ton of each colour and let me have a look at all of them! I was polite about it and apologized for being a PITA, but they were cool about it. A couple of them said they get asked all the time, one said she'd never had a request like that before but since it's my cash, i might as well be happy with what I get. Which was exactly the point! I also chose a Pink Split with a lot of grey on one side and now I'm considering having a look at Love Connection to see if I can find one with the lavender veining! Yep, I'm obsessed, lol!

exactly!! I asked the MA if I could look at the fresh green mix (b/c i want a good melange side as i was going to buy it) but with her "they are all the same, same half and half" attitude (which is wrong considering how different the sides of my things are, they are NOT perfectly half and half!). Then I decided not to buy any from her (but i did get greensmoke and sonic chic gentle!)
-us specktrettes understand!!

I love the new minerals from Prescriptives. It's very smooth and has a matte finish. Lovely over liquid foundations. It's pretty long lasting, but I do have oily skin so I needed to touch up throughout the day.

And you'll learn the look. The more MAC makeup you aquire, the more MAC attitude you get. ;P

I really did not care for the Prescriptives MMU that much. Compared to Alima, which is super creamy, it was almost gritty feeling and dry on my skin. But maybe I'm spoiled....and I don't wear my MMU over foundation, just over well absorbed moisturizer, so that makes a difference too. It accentuated dry patches/wrinkles below my eyes/on my upper cheeks that I was previously unaware of (UGH!) but it was very skin-brightening, so that was a plus. It also has bismuth. For younger skin without sensitivity issues it would probably be worth checking out, but for older skin and sensitive types I think there are better choices.

Now I want a Love Connection with light violet tones!!!

I have warm brownish-hazel. The smallest hint of green. =P Lots of people love them, I think they're boring lol!

Thank you! I don't know how the skin shades run for that brand so I would suggest having them match you at the counter. =)

The MA convinced me to get Dangerously Hot (the only dark color I own is a red Chanel lipstick and a deep berry by Estee Lauder, I never would have bought this) because it "made my green eyes pop".. It's quite scary in the tube and I'm really pale. the MA told me to wear this as a "lip stain" to keep it subtle, but any suggestions on what else to wear with it (eyes, cheeks..) It's such an intense, somewhat scary, color but my eyes looked really green when I put it on!

Am i nuts for going in to the mac store and asking to see all the mes so i can pick out the fresh green with the most solid and the hot contrast with the most red? I think i am... The ma was very nice about it though.

today i tried to 2 to glow with udpp and rubenesque underneath, =POP and seems to be better than yesterday's e/s base concoction, i think the luna ccb was the culprit that made hot contrast disappear/thin out on me yesterday, it also creased my lid. so luna--au revoir--will be returning u.....

Not at all! As per my post below, I did that several times and again today! Except today I got attitude from the SA who thought she was all that. I was the only one at the counter, so it's not like I was holding anyone up! Don't care... it's my money.

I did the same thing, but mostly she thought I was being silly. Which she pretty much said to me. Which store gave you attitude?
