True. I didn't have the dupes. So I bought it.
When I use the color Burmese Beauty on the lid, I like to foil Blue Brown pigment right in the center of the lid, on the finished eye, and blend the edges when dry.
It is cool with the rest of the quad. and Marked for Glamour with it is pretty!!!

I finally caved and got the LL quad. I just could not resist. I did pass up drive me wild though, because I don't really like the finish

I just spent a week without any internet (never again, I had a family issue & had to travel from CA to New Jersey)

So has anyone ever found a favorite product or color from a collection that you can't stop raving about but no one else seems to share your enthuaism??
I used The Prowl lipstick the whole time I was there, I raved about it here before I left & just read the week's worth of posts but no one else seemed to have bought it (I'll have to take a pic and show you girls what it looks like)

Anyway, here's what I bought
PP:
~ Quad (loved! even though it was cool-toned it looks great- I feel like all of the quads had a sexy smoky vibe going on)
~ Cunning- sheer lustre, perfect as a wine gloss or layered for a purple-black dark lipstick
~ Lap of Luxury- haven't really started using but looks promising, kinda smoky

LL:
~ Quad- again love it and kinda smoky
~ The Prowl- use it like lip balm, with my bronzer it makes my lips full & warm
~ Schemer- haven't really used it yet but it's gold & warm so what's not to love about it for me?
~ Pure Show liner- just received it today, beautiful but I'll probably have to put a darker color underneath it so it doesn't get lost in a look
~ sample of Old Gold- interesting shade, not sure what to use with it but glad I have it- I wore it all-over my lid one day, it was kinda fun

BB:
~ Liquid Lurex- bought w/ Digi Pops, hated it at first, now I'm just wearing it over other lipsticks at night for some sparkle, going to try Schemer over it to make the gold come out
~ Kittenish- more pigmented than Cunning & more red, so glad I got both
~ Desires & Devices liner- absolute love, the olive color is perfect for fall, easy to use even for someone who never uses liquid liner and I don't mind the rub-off at the end of the day
~ Gold Stroke- bought it at a CCO, smoky brown-plum that I wear w/ a lot of everyday looks
~ sample of Antique Green- haven't really used it yet, I was hoping it would be darker so I'm trying to find a hunter green to pair it with, maybe Humid?


So I'm also one of those people who tries to add to my perm collection with each buy- I bought Beurre, Velvetella & Creamola cremestick liners before the collection came out- I really like these better than the regular liners. A lot less drying in my opinion
I also bought Peachtwist thinking it would go well with the LL looks, but the seller sent me Springsheen instead

I still want Fancy Cat and Spree but if it doesn't happen, I won't be heart-broken, plus can't wait for VV

You and I have almost identical tastes.
And that makes me think, WHY THE HECk didn't I look at Prowl?

I do know what you mean when you find a standout from a collection, but everyone's talking about everything else. I like it when that happens!!

I got them both too.

btw, I Old Gold is one of my favorite pigments. I'm on a kick with using that in the center of the lid, wet. Then blending it just on the edges when dried. Looks so cool with these quads. It also looks cool wetlined on lower lashline.
I think I could put it on the back of my hand and entertain myself for hours looking at the different colors reflected...

You know, I didn't get a single gloss from this collection. But the ones I was tempted to look at are the two you mentioned. I can't wait to hear how you and others are liking Fancy Cat. I love those dark brownish glosses. I have 2 Style Warriors l/g, so I told myself to not even swatch it..

I instead bought out the quads and liners...
and a couple piggies.
This was a collection I was going to skip because I spent too much on in the Groove. I'm glad I didn't though, and glad I gave in to the pull of the "specktra collection thread" (said in deep Bela Legosi voice)...

And I'm going to send it to my mom, too -- she and my stepdad are crazy cat people, too! (To the point where my stepdad actually tells their kitties stories about their two "nieces" in Texas -- my kitties.)

OK, so I know I shouldn't be spending any more on this collection, but I have been wavering on going back to look at a quad. My boyfriend was hinting this morning that he may finance a little haul for me for my birthday in a few days.

I kind of wanted a quad just to get a quad (if that makes sense), but I wasn't wowed by all the colors in any particular one, so I went with two liners instead.

However. Now I'm wondering.... The thing is, I have a ton of neutrals. More than I need, really, considering how often I wear color. But that PP has been calling me! I adore purples and plums!

I'm also seriously thinking about some pigments. Which are the must have? Bloodline? I've heard mixed things about Mauvement and its texture -- is it worth getting?

- I thought maybe The Prowl would be too brown for me....is it sheer? That might make it workable....

- If you want Antique Green to look darker try it over one of the Greasepaint Sticks. It works great. (but you would have to apply it dry over the GPS or dark base to get that darkened look- if you foil it, it stays lighter for some reason)

- Fancy Cat and Spree are my favorite glosses from this collection! Especially Fancy Cat. They're not going anywhere fast, though. I don't know if anyone else has even gotten Fancy Cat in this thread....

Ha! My family is the same with our 2 boys (cats). They rule the roost here. Much to our dog's chagrin!

I'm waiting on the PP quad, I got the other two in store. I have a ton of neutrals as well. (I'm a bronze and gold hoarder) I have been having fun with the other 2 quads though.

I find Mauvement just fine when applied wet. I normally just wear that, and nothing else.
I just don't know if it would be the one pigment I'd pick from this collection.
Makes for a pretty look when worn with a berry or wine stain on the lips.

Yesterday I got my Leopard Luxe Quad!! The colors are amazing! For those who are unsure about getting LL Quad, get it!!!

I love Bloodline - instant sexy smokey eye. Also is good mixed with gloss or lipstick. I bought Mauvement too and I just crush it a little with my brush before I apply it. It's really long lasting - doesn't fade all day even in the heat. I haven't tried it mixed with gloss yet, but I bet it'd be good.

If you really love purples and plums, either of these colors are less obvious purple/plum but they look good with brighter purples/plums for sure. Still the purple to beat this Fall is going to be Vile Violet, imo

You said you got a quad with your package. I looked back some, but couldn't find what colors you picked for your perfect smokey quad.

... my ears do prick at "perfect smokey quad" however. And I will be driven cray cray until I find out an answer!)

Thanks marajode and liba for making me feel better about color choices. I bought The Prowl & loved it and then bought Allure magazine at the airport for the ride. It had a section about brown lipsticks coming back into style but not the severe matte 80s version but the newer ones being really sheer and warm. That's exactly what The Prowl is... it's very sheer, Temptalia said it was streaky and I could see why b/c it's a lustre but it could also be built up. I'm NC30 and have very gold undertones & this brightens my skin up

My real issue w/ my skintone is I CANNOT do nude lipstick... CAN'T CAN'T CAN'T... it's not going to happen, I look dead everytime I've tried one so for me I tried to find warmer shades of bronzy/gold/brownish instead (I wore Thrills all summer b/c it was bronzy w/ a coral twist on me- when I wasn't wearing Funbathing which seemed to be another "only-I-seem-to-like-this" shade

)

I already picked out my fall/winter colors (I'm a list-maker, can't help it)
~ Golds/Bronzes/Gilded Colors
~ Dark hunter greens/olives
~ Burgundy/Reds (both for lips, burgundy for eyes)
~ Greys
Looking for plum-browns for blushes (I hear raizin's a good choice in that dept?)

LOL- just basics. Electra, Silver Ring, Knight Devine, and Carbon. I've used it two days in a row now, and it is gorgeous!!! I think I'm going to make one for each color of smoky eye eventually.

I know exactly what you mean! I'm a bit lighter -- NC25 -- and I can't do nude lips at all. I think the combo of my gold undertones and pigmentation of my lips just makes nude lips look very, very wrong on me. I'm so glad I'm not the only one -- I always feel so left out when the talk is of nude lips.

I wore Thrills and Funbathing (adore this lippie!) a lot this summer, too. Great shades for me. I will have to give The Prowl another look if I get anything else.... I overlooked it, too, because of Temptalia's recommendation.

I know, with the gold undertones & medium pigmented lips- nude lipsticks like horrible, glad it isn't just me either
I love temptalia's swatches b/c she's so close in color to me but I never really look at her recommendations b/c I end up always saying "that's not true, I could so rock that!!!" Also, the last 2 lipsticks I picked up (prowl & cunning) she said were streaky (maybe b/c they're lustre??) but I don't find them that way at all... I never owned lustre before but they're quickly my favorite b/c it's like tinted lip balm to me (but w/ more pigmentation)

I thought I would wear Thrills more than Funbathing, but the opposite is true.
Do you mind my asking where in N Tex you are? I moved from the Texarkana area to Ft Worth area. Every time I see a poster from Texas I am curious where they live

I kwym though. I could have passed on this quad. I am opposite, I had shroom, but not the other dupes. I needed a less yellow golden, and a brown like showstopper.

Oh! I know what you mean! I was without it for 2 1/2 months until very recently and it was torture! I couldn't look at/read/watch/research anything I wanted or needed! It seemed like it was cut off, when in reality it was the construction on the street (they cut the wires)! Thanks a lot for notifying us

I almost had to pay a huge ass bill for no reason. ANYway...I really hope any issues are resolved quickly and for the best!

I decided that I really need to see this collection in person! But so far the rate it is happening at, is making it look impossible

So I have held off on ordering...so far.


I cut SO much from my list that I am now allowing myself to get both Bloodline and Mauvement

I also would like Docile, even though I have Icescape because I love icescape and even keep it as one of the items in my purse!

Just 3 items!

I decided against the BB quad but I still find myself thinking about her

Also I really like how Pet Me, Please looks! Just afraid of the frost, which I can only tell for sure in person.
