LOL on Mama. I used to watch that show with my Grandparents but I have to say that daughter in law drove me crazy on that show. I cant remember her name but she had the blonde hair with the TON of makeup on.

I went to take some more empties back today to the FS and the Feline's display was in saaaaaaad shape! I'd say 70% of the items were gone. I wanted to see Kittenish again but it wasnt there

Oh and I forgot to say that I did a grey/black look today and used a mineral silver shadow in the inner 1/3 then blended it out towards the middle and used Furiously Fab on the rest of the lid with Carbon in the crease/V and Vex on the brow. I also used an angle brush and lined the lower lashline with FF and I really like it

. I finally was able to get my e/b threaded today from a place the MUA recommended to me. I'm very happy with what the lady did

It's the same with basically all the displays here. Virtually none of the quads are left, half the lipsticks are gone. The counter at the Bay apparently had their quads last all of five days after the launch. I thought the SCF stuff sold out quickly, but this is unreal. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like for Disney. I guess it's good that I grabbed what I wanted early from this collection.

I am surprised these things have sold out so quickly too and I can't imagine like you said, how fast VV will sell out. The way some of this stuff is flying out the doors is like when it snows here in VA. People sell out of shovels and ice melt and I'm like.....how can no one NOT own a shovel after all these times of it snowing in the first place? Are they hoarding them like getting ready for some mass exodus? Does the world think we'll run out of makeup?

This is worrying me, too! But, I already reserved what I know I want and I should be able to get there when they open anyway.

I've picked up a few more things in the last couple of weeks from this collection -- three of the pigments (Bloodline, Mauvement and Antique Green) and the LL quad. I may still go back for Lithe pigment; I have hardly any pigments, but I'm starting to play with them a bit more lately.

I also bought Kittenish yesterday. Strangely, I found a Nordie's counter that still has almost all of the collection left; it's only sold out of a few of the liners. But it's a quite a drive for me, but I may make it out there again for the VV launch. An MA who used to work at a counter nearby to me moved to the Nordie's, and she gives great advice! Helped me pick out Kittenish, which I skipped on my own, but it looks fabulous on my lips!

Which brings me back to my sad revelation of the weekend: I can't rely on Temptalia's lip swatches. At all.

Aristo-cat looks so lovely at Temptalia! But on me ... not so much. It looks awful, and I just can't figure out how to get it to work. It looked very wrong on me yesterday, so I stopped out the counter to find something else that would work better. I think my lips are just too pigmented for Aristo-cat. It doesn't look pink or mauve on me at all, just looks like a weird, overly frosty sparkle.

I really need to stop buying lippies based on swatches and try it out on my lips first. (I know the germaphobes are shuddering, but even swatching on my skin doesn't give me a good idea of what it looks like on.

) I may try experimenting with a liner, but I suspect this just needs to go back to the store.

Aristo-Cat doesn't look quite right on my red pigmented lips either, but I'd try Dervish lip pencil as a good neutralizer on that one. Hellraiser gives the same odd dead cast as Aristo-Cat on me and Dervish takes care of it better than any of my other lip pencils.

(In fact, the only reason I haven't bought Aristo-Cat is that Hellraiser is so similar in color, other than the sparkles)

liba, have you tried any gel lip liners? some good ones are made by EL (MACs mom) and they have the unique quality that they can change the pigmentation of the lips without making them whitish -- I love the pink, and the tawny colours.. tawny is more neutral and works really well to line and fill in the lip for colours like AC

hmmm never knew about them....sounds like they'd be more moisturizing than a pencil! You apply them with a brush?

these gel liners come in pencil form... they come in a variety of colours: plum, pink, fuschia, tawny, nude.. etc. they have a brush on the end to blend but the technology is really cool -- they are basically transparent and apply like butter to the lips.. I don't use lip erase anymore because all it does is white out lips
nonono.gif
but these products (and many mfgs make them even CG I believe) are excellent investments for any mu kit
