MAC Fabulous Felines Discussion

I am so excited. I don't even care about the products yet! Finding out about a new collection was the perfect ending to my exam-filled day no matter what the items are like. Okay, I care about the products a little bit. New quads, new corals, possibly a new lipstick finish?? It will be the highlight to my new school year.

I do agree with Susanne though. No new single e/s is kind of sad.

Now that I have the GMLOL products in my hands, I feel that the prettiest part of the special packaging is actually the boxes. Which feels sort of sad. So I am kinda over special packaging at the moment as well.

Also, I get enough cat themed packaging from Meow Cosmetics (which I use because I like their foundations, not necessarily the cats).

I'm glad if there's no special packging. That way MAC can keep the collection kinda sleek and sexy which is what I think they're going for, rather than something along these lines

Well I'm actually very disappointed that there will be no special packaging.

I never buy a product just for the packaging, but I do think it makes it feel much more special when I do buy a product that happens to comes in a nice compact etc.

Especially with a collection like this, the packaging could have been great and didn't need to be OTT - just something simple but effective, like a black compact with cats eyes or whiskers as has been mentioned.

Why are fall collections never in special packaging then, is there a particular reason for the tradition?

There are three main collections every year with special packaging:

the spring collection (this year not, but Hello Kitty, Fafi, Barbie....)

the summer collection

the holiday collection

And sometimes there are designer collaborations with special packaging during a year, like McQueen, Manish Arora, Ungaro, Heatherette, GMLOL.

Aww, I'm so sorry. I totally understand. I woke up this morning, and in my grogginess I had to do a double-take because I thought my fat, black cat Domino was my old fat, black cat Hobo who passed on 9 years ago.

I still miss him. He was my first kitty, and I had him for 17 years (since I was 3).

Okay this collection sounds EPIC! When Spring Colour Forecast was released I overshot my budget by $150 and I can see the same happening with this collection. Lemme start saving NOW!

I don't really care too much about special packaging because I end up depotting my eyeshadows anyway.
