Non-makeup related but cat related news!
We caught the feral mama cat that had kittens a couple of months ago, along with three of the four kittens. My mom brought the mama to a lady that takes care of feral cats; she's going to bring her to a vet that spays and neuters feral cats at cost (only $55!) on Wednesday, and then I'm going to pick her up on Thursday and release her back into the wilds of the Chicago suburbs.
The kittens, we have in separate cages in our half bathroom downstairs. They're about ten weeks old (born on April 9th). Two of them don't really hiss when we put our hands near the cages, one of them hisses every single time. Silly thing.
I guess the procedure is to let them chill in the room by themselves for a few days (just going in there to give them food/water/change their litterboxes if it needs doing), and then gradually spend more time in there with them, eventually opening the door to their cages one at a time, and eventually moving their food out of the cages and closer to you... I hope we can get them used to people quickly!
Once they're used to people (could take a month or so, yikes), we'll take them to a vet to get shots and spayed/neutered, and then adopt them out.
I'm happy we caught these three (and the mom), but I feel so bad for the one we weren't able to trap yet. I heard him crying in the outdoor cat house last night because he was all alone, and we haven't seen him all day.
We still have the trap out and set, so we're hoping he comes back and get trapped soon - or that maybe someone else catches him.
