Call me a contrarian, but I'd like to hear more reviews of wear time before I form a final opinion.
I used to have EL cream shadows that came in a small tube with a sponge applicator waaaaaay back in the 80's. They had a light texture that was more mousse than cream and were very buildable - from super sheer to dense and opaque. Even those 30 year old ones had better wear than 4 hours, although they certainly did get dry and creasey if you put too thick a layer on in one shot.
Something tells me MAC would not put out a 4 hour wear eye product in this day and age, with all the competition out there. Even the glittery paint pots from Cham Pale had better wear than that. Maybe if you slather it on too thickly it affects wear time like those super old ones?
On a jollier note, when I was in my MAC store over the weekend, a store manager from another location stopped in and was chatting with my store manager while I was standing around shooting the shit with her. She'd already seen this collection and mentioned the shadows. All she said was they were quite liquid but that there were some gorgeous colors. What she mainly raved about were the
colored mascaras - especially the grey one. I asked if they had any glitter or metallic sheen. She told me they were matte finish and that the grey would look amazing with my green eyes and would show very grey even over dark lashes.
Considering I love the colored Opulash from WW, I'm probably most looking forward to this grey mascara, even if it's Zoom Lash, which has a tendency to run on me. However, I love sheer, shimmery or glossy eye products, so I'm still going to be getting a couple of these at least. I've got the opposite of oily lids, so maybe I'll do better on the wear time. Fingers crossed!
