MAC - Flighty Discussion

I had a couple of those Rimmel ones, and never got to use them - they dried up completely in the jar. In fact I finally got around to throwing them out a couple of days ago.

I did a hand swatch of them when I originally bought them from TJ Hughes, and they were very messy - very runny in the jar. I made sure the lids were screwed on tight, but somehow they dried up.

I'm actually really sad that the formula of these sucks.. The colours are drool-worthy

These would have made amazing paint-pot colours as someone previously stated. What was mac thinking....

This is a disas-tuh. :eek:hboy: I'm wondering if I should even try one at this point. Now that I'm into paint pots, it really would've been much better had these products been paint pots. I can't believe these things will be permanent. Forget it. I have Chanel stuff I need to buy.

to all who are looking to use the Big Bouncers.. err, to say this very nicely.. pass/skip and don't fail.

It is a pain in the ass to have to work so hard to make a product work.. it either works by itself or you don't have to pay good money for it -- jmho.

These are a disaster just like the Champales were too glittery.. what's wrong with MAC? .. testing out too many ideas to try to beat the competition when the competition has their R&D tied up and made into a glorious DG suit.. no go.

Temptalia talked with a MAC national artist and revised her score of the Big Bounce shadows to a D.

MAC says these are supposed to "last for hours" and they clearly don't unless used an eyeshadow base (if that -- she has normal lids, so for oilies, who knows how it wears even with primer). Based on what the artists told her, these are supposed to be able to be worn alone and not just a base. (Used as a base, she said the grade is a B-, the original score.)

It looks like MAC is trying to get ahead of the building bad buzz on these shadows -- I saw a fluffy "this is how to wear these" piece on another blog today.

[/quote] Mhm, miss honey I saw that piece and called BS. It looked horrible in the look that was displayed. It's pretty lame when a blog you enjoy tends to make excuses for mediocre product. Anyway... I guess that's why Mac didn't release info until the last minute. They know these products are not worth a damn. No amount of money could make me put my rep on the line by claiming these are great. The cream shadow trend has been around for a minute: Benefit, Mufe and Shiseido all have cream shadows that are excellent. Mac should've taken their time instead of rushing this out because when people get their hands on them, they will be disgusted. How many times can a brand screw you over until you abandon it? It's kinda pissing me off, if you can't tell already. Cut down the collections and focus on quality! I don't feel obligated to buy Mac like I did just a year ago. I don't feel as passionate. They are slipping. In the course of 3 or so collections with dozens and dozens of products you only manage to churn out a handful that are worth a damn? Back to the drawing board, you go.

It'll be funny to see how quickly these land in CCO's and just how many will be there. I hope the Mac mua's don't lie to consumers, because they will pay for it later when they see all the returns.

Why couldn't they just added these to the paint pot collection? It would've been much better for them to have these in the paint pot formula. Atleast they would not crease and can be used as an eyeshadow base or just as an eyeshadow by it self.

OMG a paintpot collection!

I'd love that, MAC!

I think I'll be skipping these, they seem so high maintenance yet crappy =[

is it possible that MAC wasn't even sure if these will be perm or LE and when they saw how bad the reactions were they just made it LE?

I'm so passing on this. I have super oily lids so I doubt these would last even 15 minutes on me. Such as a waste!

Wow MAC has really missed the bar on this one. They seemed to have so much potential. Such gorg colors but bad in action.

I'm not going to let them ruin my love for MAC though. I'm glad every coll isnt amazing. It saves my wallet and makes it so I can afford the good things they do release, I'm pretty sure Semi-Precious is going to be amazing! And also to get perm things I've wanted to get but end up not because I'm buying so much LE.

I was going to get a mascara but think I'm just going to pass all together. I only want 1 thing from Surf Baby so this saves money for Semi-Precious and other brands.
Oh... and my wedding

^^ I agree, I'm glad every collection is not great for me because I wouldn't be able to keep up with all the new products. Collections like these allow for me to try out other brands, because MAC Doesn't make the "best" of everything. I like my makeup collection to have some variety, so it's not do boring!
