MAC Glitter and Ice Discussion

Got snow globe & it doesn't really work as a highlighter because my skin is as light as light as is. It just kind of looks like shimmery more beige skin on me & makes my pores look huge. I guess I should return it, even though I never return makeup. I need to stop buying things on impulse.

How did you apply it?

I stopped by my local Mac to play with this collection. I love how everything looks on display, but I walked out without buying anything. It just didn't click with me. The individual products and the sets just didn't compel me to buy. The only thing I really liked was the dark paint pot, but I have a similar Mufe aqua cream, so buying that would've been pointless.

I used a brush. I don't know what number as it wasn't a MAC brush, just the fluffy one I always use for my highlighters. Natural bristles.

My sweet hubs picked up 3 more MES for me. So now I have 5 of the 6.. skipping frozen blue.

My problem with snowglobe is that it looks almost identical on my skin as Light Sunshine does. Not sure if it's worth it to keep both. How Beautiful! on the other hand, is so lovely! I was worried that it would be too dark for my skin but applied lightly it works great.

Here's my 1st haul! Also got For Effect and Wintercool Face Kit on the way.

If you do not own or use mineral eye shadows would the 282 SE and 286 SE brushes in the mineral brush kit be worth getting or of much use? I already have the two other brushes in reg size so mini's of those would be nice, but not sure about the rest.

Wore Shimmermint today with Winterize in the outer V and got tons of compliments! While the mixing medium is nice, my own mixture of 3 parts Lavender Witch Hazel toner and 1 part glycerin worked much better with the MES.

Went to check out g&l in store yesterday but it's not launching here till next week

I find it quite interesting that T and Dustin both weren't showing much love to the brush sets. After trying them in person I have to say if you are short on cash and still want MAC brushes, and aren't using these on a regular basis for professional work, these definitely fit the bill. The Tartan Tale brushes were a total fail.

As for the matte mixing medium, I've never seen it. I just happened to see the Shine mixing medium up on the MAC website and grabbed it. Lately I've just been dipping my 226 into the mixing medium, tapping it into pigment and then working it. I love how it works with pigments! If you go back a page or two in my swatches I do them over the Shine mixing medium in addition to alone and over the Luna CCB. Hope that helps!

I like the 282SE for how wide it is. I don't see why you couldn't use this with pigments as well as MSFs for more 'precise' application. The 286SE is a really nice tapered blending brush. And I already have the 226 and the split fibre blending brush.

I used those two brushes to apply my sultry palette shadows and the 286 is my new holy Grail crease brush! It picks up and holds color really really well and applies it like a dream. It does a great job of blending, even better than the 224. But if you would be getting the whole set just for one or two brushes, you should check that they won't be available in a future collection. I heard that one or two of them will be released as a full-size permanent soon.

I love this collection!

I picked up:

All 3 paint pots
Snow Season
Shimmermint
Dressed To Dazzle (love)
Pleasure Principle (awesome)
Glitter and Ice
Whirls & Twirls
Soft Sable
How Beautiful!

Will pass on the nail polish in Unconditionally Fabulous~~~ I am going to pick up China Glaze's Snow Globe and Tinsel Town. Better formula IMO.
I have 2 She-Zam BUs already

Yay! I picked up my pre-order items tonight! Here's my haul:

Let's Skate, Morning Frost, For Effect p/p
Sultry Iced Delights Lip bag
Snowglobe b/p
Shimmermint mes

Unfortunately though, the Nordies I pre-ordered from either didn't save it but they definitely didn't notify me that Whirls & Twirls sold out from their stock and therefore was unable to be added to my pre-order. I found out when I went to pick up my items that Whirls & Twirls wasn't there :( Blargh! Oh well, I'll just order it from the MAC site because it's still in stock there and there's a free shipping code so no harm done.

My Viva Glam bags should be here Monday! So yay for that.

I'm debating though if I want to get Dressed to Dazzle d/g. I only own one d/g - Money, Honey - and I don't even use it. So I'm wondering if D2D is really worth the $20 for me. Hmmmmmmmm. Probably not if I have to question it, right? lol.

Soft Sable is still kind of taunting me, too. I'm NC15. I must convince myself that it wouldn't get used. I wouldn't use it. Nope. Nope. lol. I'm trying to be good so that I can afford one or two items from next month's Gareth Pugh.

Elegant, how do you like How Beautiful bp?
I broke down and ordered it when I read a blogger (forget which one) say it added warmth without adding orange or gold to the skin.
