MAC Glitter and Ice Discussion

No winterized in Dublin either! they say it never arrived but they hope to get it asap.... I got the 3 paint pots, hold that pose & snow season. 2 quick questions.... I liked the look of the mineralize brush set. They felt lovely and soft but not very dense. For those of you who have used the eye brushes what are they like? I love the colour of let's skate pp but it's not going on very evenly. Is that happening to anyone else? Any application tips?

I have just spoken to Mac telephone order and they said Winterized was extremely limited and they're not getting any more in. Really weird, also don't understand why the counters don't have it but if Mac doesn't want to sell stuff, what can you do?

However, I have just spent 20 minutes on the phone to Debenhams mail order 0844 800 8877 and they seem to have Winterized, so I ordered one. The girl on the phone was very slow and rather strange, so it remains to be seen if she actually managed to order Winterized for me. I'll let you all know when it arrives.

I have just checked my confirmation e-mail and the dizzy cow ordered Fresh Ice, so I phoned them and cancelled the order, and asked them to check again for Winterized, but all they have is Fresh Ice. Aaaaargh!!!

Would any of you lovely US ladies/gents be able to CP a Winterized MES? Please? I'm getting desparate here, lol.

I got my first order yesterday:

Soft Sable: Love it! Probably going to get a back-up. It reminded me a little of Pet Me Please from Fabulous Felines which is one of my favourites. They're not really similar in colour but have a kind of muted frostiness I really like.

Whirls & Twirls: Not sure about it yet - it might be a little too sheer for me.

Pleasure Principle - A lot more glitter than I usually wear, but I do like it!

Snowglobe - Very pretty.

Morning Frost and For Effect PPs: both seem nice - not as chunky and glittery as the ones from Cham-pale which I was worried about.

I've also ordered What Joy l/s, Spanking Rich Dazzleglass, the mineralize brush set and the coral lipglass set. I called MAC today and ordered Winterized over the phone - hopefully it will turn up!

When was that? I called at about 10.30 this morning and they told me it was available for mail order...she didn't say anything about it being limited! Eek...I hope my order has gone through ok :-/

I have phoned Mac again and spoke to a very nice lady who said they had it in stock and ordered it for me. The other one just said they share the same stock as the website and if it's gone, it's gone. I should complain about her, but I don't know her name. The lady I spoke to didn't seem to have a clue what I was talking about to be honest. I was saying "Winterized, the mineral eyeshadow from the new Glitter and Ice collection" and she just kept going quiet and saying "No...sorry...winter?...what kind of product is it?...no..." It took a while to get through to her!

Personally, I think a lot of the people at Mail Order (at least the ones I have spoken to) are thick. They messed up an order of mine before and it took over a month for them to finally sort it out. They don't know what the hell they are doing there.

I still want winterized and shimmermint. I'm so oily though, that I know they wouldn't last long on my eye, even with a good primer, based on past MES experience. I just can't bring myself to fork over $25 CAD each for something I'll end up being frustrated with.

I guess I'll just admire them on other people!

The second one I spoke to was lovely and really switched on, so I have faith in it that I'm actually getting Winterized.

Hahaha! The last girl I spoke to at Mail Order was on the ball though, she got things sorted so restored my faith. Most of the time I was on the phone I was passed about from person to person so they clearly haven't a clue. I'm not surprised that they don't know the deal with Winterized. Really silly because they are loosing sales from their online customers.

All this talk about pp's shelf life made me ask about to a friend that's a very good ophthalmologist (and makeup lover). She said that, as we don't actually put pp in the eyes, we should be fine for a longer period. It's implicit in this to use only clean brushes, or sanitize our fingers, and never lent creamy products to other people

I did order it over the phone and they did charge for delivery, but I figured £2.95 was an OK price to pay considering it looked to be my only option of getting one at all. I am just bummed about the fact that I will be relying on luck when it comes to veining, as this is one shadow I REALLY wanted to hand pick. I want a purple-plummy version, and not a charcoal blue-grey version. Depending on what I get in the mail, I may try to order a few more (a-la Piarpreet in hopes of getting the perfect veining combos.

I would guess that the stores here in the UK will end up getting it, I am just not the type to wait around for maybes!
In other news, I LOVE Soft Sable! It looks great over Lovechild lipglass, like MLBB, and does remind me of all the lipsticks i used to rock in the 90s and early 00s. Hold that Pose is really beautiful light frosty taupe (I got one with LOTS of silver veining to neutralize the peach and pink), the Sultry lip kit lipstick (I Love Winter) is beautiful! I also think that Let's Skate PP is one of the prettiest things I have ever seen in my life....HOWEVER, I do not appreciate the total migration of glitter onto my browbone and down under my eyes. If I could find a way to lock it down JUST on my lids I would love it. Today I wore it over TFSI and Stray Grey PP, and then wore Hold That Pose with Fix+ on top of it, so if that couldn't keep it together I am not sure what will. Maybe Pixie Epoxy OVER it?

Have you tried dusting translucent powder over your lids before applying a primer? I've found that for more oily lids, this helps.

I am the same about winterized. I love picking veining and really want alot of purple in mine but didn't want to risk waiting for my store to get it incase they didn't I wore let's skate today. I didn't migrate but I found it went on unevenly... What are you using to apply yours? I wore mine over Nars primer. I then applied mineral over the pp and shale in the crease. It looks well and stayed in place all day

Anyways gals I wanted to tell you, that I tried liking hold that pose put when i foil it i look so wrinkly!!!! Do you guys have a tip for MES (only some do look this way) that make you look like that when u foil? If i dont foil it's not pigmented enough, but when I do use fix+ OMG it looks like a have been soaking in a bathtub for days!
