MAC Glitter and Ice Discussion

I'm a little less enthralled than I thought I would be. Strangely, the "brown" lipstick (it looks more silvery-taupe in the photos) kind of appeals to me. I adore berry shades, but I'm not in love with satin formulas as a rule, so I don't know if I'll necessarily pick it up. I think I was hoping for a shimmery cool white lipstick, rather than another silver. I have Metal Maven and, while I like it, I don't do silver lips so often that I need a variety of them. The MES, as always, are a possibility depending on what the swatches are like. They can be so unpredictable.

I thought the minty green was Shimmermint, and Hold That Pose was lilac? The pics of the MES's on the beautyinsider website are labelled from top left, clockwise

I'm disappointed that there will not be any Pearlglide liners, oh well, I will probably spend enough on this collection as it is without them being there too!

I'm pleasantly surprised so far. I thought this collection would be full of glitter and that's mostly a turn off for me. I want Morning Frost p/p, How Beautiful BP(I can't resist the name), Eloquent Air lipstick, Pleasure Principal d/g(that's the name of my favorite Janet Jackson song :lol, and the liners in Silver Skates, Going for Gold, and Fancy Moves. Now, I need swatches to be sure.

I'm very disappointed too! Wish they would bring back Wolf, Black Russian, or Black Swan plus new shades too!!

Let's see -- Love the brushes, will most likely get the Make it Perfect Brush Kit, and love the black, blue and green MES, and love the Fabulous nail enamel, and of course the paint pots! Those paint pots are perfect for the Semi-Precious eye shadows.

I saw the packaging for the kits...it's either going to be really loved or really hated lol. Imagine a pure white case with a half snowglobe full of silver glitter on top...yup that's the packaging hahahaha

I think the packaging sounds interesting. I'm excited to see it in person, I wonder if I can get it on a preview at one of the stores.

I am probably not going to buy much, maybe a nail lacquer and the green MES.

I was SO hoping for 3D Glitter in this collection....glitter and ice..give me that bling!

Some new 3D glitters would have been amazing!

It doesn't look like it, but I hope at least one of the MES has glitter bits reminiscent of Cinderfella from Style Black, which is probably one of my favorite MES. The glitter was so fine it makes your eyelid almost look wet.

Hmmm not super thrilled, but so much better than last holiday, in my opinion. Shadow palettes are turning me off with all the repromotes...

The gray paint pot has my eye. I love that MAC is doing so much better with the PPs this year. More out this year than in the year before

Interesting brush selections. I don't care for SE brush sets, cause they break, but I do like that the 239 and 217 are being featured this year. I am sure the 224 will love the break, and these 2 are the better brushes.

The manager at my store said this won't come out until Dec 26. She had no clue what Specktra was lol.

That's new for MAC, cause holiday usually comes out at the end of Oct.

Temptalia has stuff up now. Crushed Metallic Pigment sets, I know they are a fav for many.

Eh...I'm not thrilled by the new winter stuff announced today. Only the beauty powders pique my interest, and that's only because BPs make great blushes on me.

You mean Shimmermint? Hold that Pose is purple. But you probably want both anyways :encore:

Ooh, I'm going to be travelling around when this launches so I might pick up some treats at the duty free if I've been good. I like the sets because I'm kind of bad at putting together a whole coordinated look. I like the two nude-ish lip bags a lot, good colours. I got two of the duty-free exclusive sets and love everything from them -- I wouldn't have bought any of those products as standalone but getting to try them together really opened my mind about what products and colours work well for me. The only problem is I can't take anything with a snowglobe on it through security when I change planes, so I won't be able to play with anything with those snowglobe palettes until I get home.

Pretty disappointed the pigments are those crushed metal ones from Surf Baby! I didn't like those so I'll be passing on the ones in this collection. The nail colors are okay but nothing I gotta have. I love Dazzleglasses but I'm not bowled over by the color selection. I like my Dazzleglasses to pack a real color punch and since Love Alert is permanent and She-zam is nice but not a fave, I'll pass.
