Is Winterized so special? Because I skipped it easily at first. I think I am going to buy something because of hype again

did anyone buy for effect pp and have any good swatches? I'm wanna know how it looks on the lid.
is it quite sheer? I'm just deciding whether to get it or not cause dark colours don't look that great on me.
Then again if it's not I could use it as a base :)

I felt like it was something unique, a cool plum/brown with a hint of pink. It wasn't excessively shimmery like some of the MES can be. Plus its a darker color and not bright and frosty like the other ones. I am looking for makeup like that right now, neutral, interesting and with a little bit of oompf.

I don't remember seeing a color like it before in the MAC line up. I love it.

I have no idea!!!! I am just glad it is available at all at this point, and went ahead and ordered it over the phone just in case (horror or horrors) I can't find one in stores to choose my own veining, at least I will have one! And who knows, perhaps I will get a beautiful one in the mail......

Did you have to pay postage? I'm going to the counter tomorrow, but if they don't ahve it either, I may order if shipping is free.

I'm sooo glad I got Let's Skate Paint Pot...it is the perfect base for my Angel Flame quad. I would definitely get a backup if I could afford to, but I still want about a million things in the next 2 months.

I would swatch it, but I'm preserving my Glitter & Ice paintpots until I get significant use out of my Posh Paradise ones

but I LOVE For Effect because it's a sheer dark color as opposed to just being dark. I tend to be too heavy-handed with the dark colors and this one seemed perfect to use as a base for a smokey eye without looking like a bruise. I absolutely love it and can't wait to bust it out and start using it!

So, I'm thinking of preserving my G&I Paint Pots since I still have all my Posh Paradise Pots to use... and don't want them going bad! Is the best way to preserve them in the refrigerator? And if so, how long does that work? And when I'm ready to use them, do I just take them out and let them reach room temp and leave them out after that? Have never tried this before and have been curious, as I've seen others that have said they are going to do this... Thanks for any advice you have!

I haven't heard about putting them in the refrigerator before! If anyone else can shed some light on that method, I'd love to know the process as well!

I usually just keep my back-ups in a rubbermaid storage drawer. I never take them out of the package (even for a swatch) and make sure it's a cool/dry environment. Usually the corner of my room is dry/not too hot and the drawer I have my unopened make-up in keeps the items in the dark. I'm not sure how long items stay "good" for even when they're unopened, but I would guess two years (maybe more, maybe less - if anyone else can clarify this, please do! lol). Since I've just begun purchasing MAC in the past six months, I haven't had anything in the drawer for that long (2 years). Since I got all the paint pots from Posh Paradise, I've forced myself to not open the Glitter & Ice ones so I can use those ones up first. I always store the Paint Pots upside down because you can see the color better and they won't have a chance to dry out.

On another note, over the weekend I purchased Prince Noir, Double Spin, Whirls & Twirls and Soft Sable from the Nordstrom website. The order shipped rather quickly and was slated to arrive on Friday (relatively speedy since I'm on the West Coast). Tonight however, the progress was updated to show that my package would arrive on Monday. Noooooooooo! lol.

I think I've read Mac-Guy comment about this sort of stuff multiple times in several threads? I cant remember exactly but I'm sure there has been some advice about this.
