MAC - Grand Duos Discussion

Yeah so I went to Nordies today to pick up my pre-sell from MAC for my hk dazzleglass and the MA showed me 3 of these. They feel like silk gosh their so nice! They also have very nice color payoff to them and not overly sparkly I think, (I'm white, NC15) I don't know exactly what colors they were, if I were to guess it was Love Rock, Intenso, and Grand Duo. I swatched Love Rock? and Grand Duo? and it was love for me! So any local Dallas gals if you go to any Nordstrom they are pre-selling for them right now, the MA thinks they will sell out pretty quick. I didn't presell since I work for Macy's and have my employee discount so I'll wait till they launch and give my homeboy a call to get them for me.

I am very pale but I can't stand wearing light blushes. I just need more of a flush. I can get away with pretty much any color I tried except a color like brown which I wouldn't want to wear anyways. I prefer rosy pinks. Even if the blush looks very dark, just apply it lightly and it will look nice.

I think I made up my mind now: Grand Duo, Intenso, and Love rock.

i swatched intenso, moon river, love rock and grand duos. did not swatch earth to earth, hot planets and light over dark. i think other than earth to earth (based on pictures) and intenso, the rest aren't really worth the purchase. colours can be dupe, i feel.

Moon River is very light, but I am NC 30 and it does show up on me

It's such a pretty light pink, you can see it in my FOTD:

Since I want Gentle, I might just pick up Grand Duo instead, since they look similar. Everything else I have a dupe of (I have Pleasantry, Dainty, and Nuance.) Then again, since they didn't make Pleasantry permanent maybe I could let myself get Love Rock too.

And there I go, I said I wanted to skip this collection.

But they are too pretty to skip

I think many of the "I'll pass" sayer won't pass these after seeing them in real

I'm pretty resolute on my decision to pass - these would have to be beyond amazing (such as doubling as being my personal housekeeper) for me to change my mind!

I saw these at the counter today. Did not bother to swatch them, but they looked way too shimmery in the pan. None really appealed to me, so I'm joining Team No for sure.

The shimmery part is mostly the swirly part...the solid part is actually not that shimmery...

I still will skip them too. The marbled side from Moonriver looks nothing like Lightscapade in the swatches and they look too shiny/shimmery for me to like them at all.

If I want more shine or shimmer I use Lucent or Silver Aura instead of Lightscapade.

They still look pretty if I ignore the shimmer but what leaves me grumpy is that you most likely have to use the 188 to use just the blush side or the marbled side.
I don't like products that pressure me to buy an other item just to use it properly.

I saw these in the store and they are VERY shimmery. I think they are easily dupe able in the permenant mineral blushes line. Unless you love shimmery blushes I wouldn't bother with these as they are super expensive aswell!
