With wise budgetting and decisions, you still can get the items you love and not feel guilty because it sucks to feel that.

I used drug store makeup when I was studying and didn't like most of them too. But now, everyone is budgetting tightly due to the economy. Don't feel alone!

I tested the quads today at Nordstrom and I didn't think that they were chalky at all. The only one that took a bit to show up on me was the purple in the Lucky Tom palette. I thought that they seemed very pigmented and easy to use. Granted I did only swatch them on my hand. The brown eye shadow in the lucky tom palette is so gorgeous.

100 pages, holy moly! I've been busy and haven't been on for a week, and this thread is 40 pages longer! I finally got to the pro store in NYC and here are my thoughts on HK.

First of all, I hated all the non makeup items. The bags looked cheap, the doll/toy I wouldn't take for free(don't hate me) and the bracelet/cup etc also are not good quality and expensive to boot. The ma all said the same thing.

I did buy more stuff than I thought I would, plus the cremesheen and the new concealer, which I love.

Lucky Tom Palette ~ I love this, especially Lucky Tom,(lustre) and Stylin'(veluxe). I had wanted creme royal from the antiquetease palette, but passed on it, so I was happy it was in here.

Beauty powder blushes~ I love Fun & Games, peachy/apricot with a touch of gold, this could be a real contender for an everyday blush for me.
Tippy ~ A bit too pigmented for me, very blue based pink with a hint of sheen.

We've all seen the Beauty powders, I bought Pretty Baby which I can wear as blush.

I got the "kitty" lashes(pro discount), and On The Prowl nail polish.

Glitter Liners, I bought Her Glitz, (very wearable, brown with gold/iridescent glitter) and Glitterpuss(very cool rusty/orange with glitter) Pro discount on these!

I got a sample of Milk pigment, which is very pretty. A pale frosty pink.

Lipsticks~ Fashion Mews, had to have this, totally lavender, but somewhat sheer.(glaze)
Big Bow ~ A really fun color, a glaze but shows up quite well, and has a blue duochrome to it. I can see layering this over many different l/s.
Most Popular(lustre)~ very wearable sheer berry, probably the most "everyday" kind of color, would work well on all skin tones.
Cute-Ster ~ (lustre) Sheer pink, touch of peach, slightly pearlized

I didn't get Fresh Brew(already have this) or Strayin, which was a too intense medium depth pink.

I got all the lipglasses, they are all pretty sheer with small particles of glitter except She Loves Candy, which is a pink with gold and frosty.

Both tinted lip conditioners have more pigment than I imagined.

Nothing was sold out at the pro store, and when I walked by the regular Mac store on 22 street, they already had HK out as well.

i have been looking but have not seen any so far. i think they are nicer than the ones makes is trying to sell. someone is selling just the brush cup and the bid is almost up to what the cup and brushes would be. So i dont understand why someone would buy the cup when they can get the full thing for the same price. people on ebay with HK is asking crazy prices!!

Yup that is why I've decided to cut down my haul purchases and only grab a couple of items that really stand out to me. I hope this is a wise decision, because I tend to get over exited and haul unnecessary items or buy a color because I think it's pretty/unique and then never use them after a couple of times.

Hi guys! I just pre-ordered on Nordstroms online. I know HK is supposed to be released on the 12th, with it going online either the 10th or the 12th. But all next week I will be working 12 hour shifts, and sleep is precious to me. So I don't think I'd be able to join in the fun and wake up early to see when MAC online releases the stuff online to order. So I just said I need to bite the bullet and order it elsewhere.

Total ended up being a whopping $175. That's actually GOOD for me. I'm normally one to haul at least $200-300 per collection. So I think I actually did pretty good! Nordstroms says that they will ship the items out on 2/10. So hopefully I will get them by the end of the week. Usually when I order from Nordstroms, I get the items fast.

I do have a makeover appt on Saturday the 14th. So I may get more stuff. The only thing I want to get is Fashion Mew l/s but it wasn't available on Nordstroms. So I'll have to pick that up on Saturday. I'll be doing B2M for that item. Hopefully it won't be sold out yet. All of the MA at my counter seemed to think that Hello Kitty wasn't a big deal and that they won't "sell out" of stuff. But we'll see.

Question on Nordstrom's online:

It says you cannot order more than $500 on MAC per order.

So if my order is $521, that means I have to break it up into two orders, correct??

i'm bummed i don't really want anything from this collection. I'm thinking about just getting the Lucky Tom palette, though.. the swatches look nice and it's been getting great reviews!

I was just so curious about those damn totes that I did a live chat today and they didn't know what the hell I was talking about. I talked to two stores in NYC and thay didn't either. One of them told me to call Bendel's, which I did and nothing. Then I called Toronto pro store and was told these will be used like the Fafi bags, they will put your HK purchase in them if you spend $50. I have actually considered doing a phone order from there and pay shipping to get one. The girl was unable to quote me any prices for any of the accessories like the doll and such. She said she hasn't been to update yet. She also said they were kind of like a re-usable fabric grocery bag. But in the pics they look nicer than that to me. Yeah, spent way too much time on this. I'm a little obsessed about this--mmm ya think? OMG, I need to get a real life.

can you tell me the toronto pro store number and where it is located to in toronto please. can you pm me and let me know. i would really appreciate it. did they say if they still have bags left?? do you know if you can pre-order? The bags are only available in canada i think. I think the reason is because starting on earth day april 22nd here in canada they are making it that you cant get plastic bags anymore in stores. so i think this is why canada is getting them.. But there so cute you would think mac would let everyone have them.

I know that some people here don't like MAC polishes but I own 5-6 of them and I never had any problems. Actually I really like them ~ the application is great and they last quite long

So I'm definitely getting On the Prowl and maybe the pink one

I like them also. I am def getting on the prowl and the pink one as well.
