I find that hard to believe that the one in the 'burbs sold out in like less than four hours, but the one in the city probably has their full shipment still (ten sounds like a lot compared to some counters only getting two or four!).

Is online CS telling you there are 10 in Chicago? There is a chance that they have 10 in their computer inventory, but that they are all pre-ordered & haven't put the changes through yet. So on paper they have them in stock but in reality they are sold out

I also ordered I want candy and partylicious from A & O.

I ordered 1 Stereo Rose from Nordstroms which is currently "in process," and I have one on hold at my local Nordstroms counter which I can "pick up Thursday." Hopefully I will end up with at least one SR or possibly 1 + backup. Who knows at this point??

Ok so I'm not going to lie...we are all slightly crazy!

But seriously I am getting all paranoid..first my MA said she was going to charge my card for my pre-order on Sat, but nothing has showed up and she's off for a few days. Then, I placed an order on MAC's Site but still my CC hasn't been dented for even any of the items...so I finally just placed an order on Nordies' site. Why am I so dang paranoid?!?!

Yeah. When I called my Nordies and they put me through to their CS department (the one at the store - I didn't call the online 888 number), she said the store in Chicago had 10, and the one I called had zero.

I have heard that Nordies is good about pulling inventory from other stores and shipping it to you (my boyfriend's done that a few times with shoes), so hopefully that's what'll happen here too.

Not sure what to think about that 7/20 ship date, though.

The CS rep I spoke to told me to give it another hour, and if it doesn't show ready to pick up, to call back. Crazy crazy.

EDIT: I guess I don't have to worry about the 7/20 ship date, because my order status just went back to 'Order is in Process'!

I went to Germany (Mainz & Koln) for vacation summer of 2008 and I have to say I was shocked by how patriotic & serious the ladies there were about football, they all had face painted & all (I was on the train when I saw them.)

^I work retail myself, so I'm usually all over snafus like this - trying to work with the CS people to figure out 1) wtf is going on, and 2) how to fix it! Sometimes I think I'm more diligent about trying to find CS solutions than the reps are!

It is pretty nuts that Nordies online orders go through CS and that the girls at the counter don't get any kind of instant notification about a pending online order.

I suppose this is why the company I work for keeps their online inventory/ordering process completely separate from the in-store stuff! (Though then we get people that complain when we can't make orders from the store to have stuff shipped to their houses... you can just never win!)

So people who ordered from MAC can see what they ordered in their previously purchased section not me! And also when I click on my order number my items don't come up.

But I did call CS earlier they said they recieved my order and that indeed my 3 stereo roses were not on back order

My order shows pending when will it update?

I wouldn't put too much stock in Nordie's ship dates - I've had the same thing happen as well (with Marine Life) - I get some way-out date when in reality I get the stuff much sooner. I think they're just targeting a date to solidify the order. I always get my Nordies orders sooner than they say I'll get them......

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a sold out/unable to fulfill order email from Nordstrom? I ordered a SR, got a confirmation email but want to be absolutely sure I get one at my counter if need be. Gah, I can't believe I am stressing out over a MSF. lol!

I'd just go to your counter and get one, to be honest. If it'll put you at ease, do it. If you end up with 2, sell it at price on here for someone who missed out

From what I can tell, if your card got hit for the right amount, you're fine.
