I'm glad the matte2 shadows are perm. I don't feel so pressured to buy them all at once haha. I'll most likely be buying more of the mattenes.

My bf is taking me on a MAC Shopping Spree for my Birthday so on my hit list is:
1. Clarity
2. Newly Minted (Anyone know how this compares to Guacamole?)
3. Post Haste
4. Tango/Orange Dare
5. Classic Dame/You Say Tomato/Seriously Rich
6. 40's Pink/Poise
7. Composure/Flattering

I'm excited!

I've never seen Guacamole but if it's anything like the color of actual Guacamole, Newly Minted is definitely different. It's a very strong green (with about the brightness of a kelly green) and doesn't really have any yellow to it at all IMO. I'd say it leans very slightly to the blue side but it's definitely not a yellow green. In person and on, it doesn't look nearly as... well "minty" as it does in most of the swatches I've seen online.

I knew I only wanted neutrals, so I only ended up getting Poise and 40s Pink. I might go back and try Composure, but I think it's too brown for me. Swatches coming soon.

Clever. That's definitely a unique way to describe it. It makes me think of spearmint snowball syrup (which is VERY green and not so minty in color).

I looked at mattene while I was in MAC this morning... hmm... I'm very lipstick shy (love a good gloss or lipglass through) so the colors intimidated me a bit. Great colors, but I'm afraid to wear them.

The texture is great though.

Was anyone else really aggravated by the mattene display stand though? It was hard to get the lipstick OUT of the holders and because of the way it was arranged, I kept getting the surrounding lipsticks on my hands when trying to pick one out to swatch. Grrr.

haha....I am glad I wasn't the only one getting their ass kicked by the display. My hand was a mess, lol! I bought 40's Pink and Tango for now.

haha, I had the same experience, my fingers got full of brown and red spots. I bought Rapturous, which is a very nice coolish red, quite berry-red. I love how soft it feels on.

the display for mattene was definitely a battle so I had the MA yank out all the ones I wanted to try haha.

I left with Classic Dame, Tango, 40's Pink, Composure and Flattering. Oh I picked Pink D'Lush slimshine too haha.

I wanted ALL of the red ones but I had to have SOME self control. I skipped on Rapturous cause it looked like Dubonnet l/s on me, but I'm considering going back and picking up Seriously Rich and possibly Immodest or Rougette. These colors are so perfect for fall and winter. Love the texture and the case/tube feels so nice.

Rougette was one of my favorite colors. I also loved the color of Night Violet but I'm such a chicken. It was just sit there in my case looking pretty and chicken here wouldn't wear it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one the mattene display gave a hard time! It looks nice but the design wasn't all that well thought out, IMO.

Okay, I got my MAC shipment in today that included eight of the Mattene lipsticks. Overall, I think these things are great!! Run, don't walk, to your nearest corner if you have not tried them. They apply like butter and hold up better, after a few hours, than really matte lipsticks. Seriously Rich is seriously great!! Looks hot on me so, I have to have a backup. There is only one I don't like and two I am not sure of, of the eight I got. I think I will try some of the others. The only thing I don't like, I hate the tube but I'll get over that.

The only one I bought was Immodest, which is a beautiful pink. I think I'll be going back for more though, because I love it. It goes on so smooth, and it really does last for a long time.

I'm still waiting for my Mattennes to arrive, but I'm excited! I got Flattering, Tango, Composure, Cafe matte, and one other one

Question though: how long does your order usually take to arrive when you place it online? This is my first one and I'm getting anxious! Thanks everyone.

Usually when I place an order on Tuesday, it's here on Friday but this last order I placed was two day shipping since it was only $5 and it was here on Thursday.

If you're doing an all Matte2 eye . . .

I'd say blending out to Poison Pen would probably work pretty well, with blanc type, tete-a-tint, and copperplate working pretty well as neutral base shades. For even darker shading (in the crease or something) I'd try graphology.
