Yep Metal X was supposed to arrive in January so it's normal to find it has been already launched a bit weird imo ^^ Here every store does what it wants -_____- some place get Gareth Pugh in the middle of december, others in january... If every store all over the world would release collections at the same time would make everything a lot easyer XD but I don't mind if collections are released a month after Usa (it's better for swatches!!!)

Did you get a chance to swatch Metal X (and post swatches for us)?

I was planning to skip this collection, but since receiving the Gareth Pugh metal X shadows, I might have to give these a try if the formula is similar. I love the ones from Gareth Pugh and I'm normally not a cream eyeshadow gal.

Me too. The GP Metal X are extremely smooth and easy to work with and I hope that the Metal X formula is exactly the same.

Yeah, I just got them yesterday and tried them last night (over my makeup i wore all day). I did Obscura on the lid and Ardent in the crease and love the two colors together. i smoked them out over my smokey eye i already had on and they looked great. i didn't feel any slipping or creasing either. I wish the metal X collection had like a dark blue based purple in it.

I guess for purple addicts, Ardent comes in handy (and early!), so this part is covered.

What I love about the GP Metal X is that they are true to pan. What you see in the pan is what you get on the lid.

I might pick up the GP purple one if that is the case. It looks beautiful in the pan. I always worry if the vibrancy will translate. Good to know!

I tried both the GP metal x and the new ones and I'm sorry to say that the GP ones feel much nicer and thicker. (Maybe it's just me!)

Ernie - Are they not very pigmented? I wanted the dirty peach & warm copper ones

Elegant, they are pigmented, especially the darker ones, but the GP ones are so much thicker and velvety. I bought Fusion Gold, Palladium and Gold carbon.

The GP ones have more a buttery feel, especially when you dive your brush into them.

The metal x shadows arrived in the netherlands already as well. I had to go to my counter today (needed new brush cleaner) and i swatched them all and i actually liked them. They didn't feel as creamy as i thought, but they did blend out really well on my hands and were pigmented. Because they aren't as creamy as i expected i thought they might not crease once set with a powder. I got Vintage Coin, because the colour is just awesome! I have it on my eyes right now. I applied it with an 242 brush and it was so nice to work with! I applied one layer and it was completely opaque. I applied Winterized on top of it and it's an instant smokey eye, lovely! I will let you all know how it wears, but so far i'm really suprized. If it wears well i might get some more.

Are you wearing it over a primer?

Super duper disappointing trip to pro. Only walked away with gold carbon. I was going to get vintage coin but it was already gone. The MUA said even she didn't get to see it. I really love that color, too. I was going to get palladium but decided against it. I can make do with dalliance from peacocky. I was also disappointed because from the other new collection, the only pigment left was circa plum. I definitely don't want that. I wanted to play with nebula. Oh and I played with the quad. My opinion on that? There isn't a word to properly express how bad I think it is when swatched. Woof! Ok maybe that's the word.

I'm always surprised (disappointed!) how little stock the stores get these days.

I really want to get one or two of these, but I hate how they're in the larger packaging. :/ They'd more than likely dry out before I even use one halfway...I'll (reluctantly) have to skip, and try not to look at any more swatches of Gold Carbon.

You can also use them as a cheek highlighter and/or on the lips, which should help with hitting pan sooner rather than later. Enjoy!
