MAC - Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

First of all i'd like to say that i'm super fair and i got it to work- so i don't want to hear it!!! LOL It's really the best MMU i ever tried. it's smooth, not shiny and not super opaque. It actually looks very skin like and with blot powder or select sheer the shade is slighly 'tweekable'. it wears off realativly quick and the reapplication doesn't result in a total mess. I actually like it as a finishing/ touch up powder because of the spf!!!But the packaging is sooooo horrid- i'm ashamed to leave it in my counter LOL -no seriously i couldn't stand it so i put it in a mac shifter jar. Forget the caplicator for best results 187 or 182 <3 HTHs

I posted a review in the correct thread, however i'd like to add that it made the skin around my mouth and nose alittle dry. so i need fix+ with this

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

i tried it as well with MSf natural on top and it seems to increase coverage a lot and made it match my skin tone almost 100%, but i prefer very sheer coverage so this is not something i'll be doing anytime soon ....

I am NC25 and got the Light MPF. The color goes real well with my skintone. I must say that I love it!! I can't even tell that its on. I hate wearing foundation that feels like it weighs 10lbs on your face. It also does not seem to cause as many breakouts.

Damn... so is there no hope for this NW15 who has decided that she's actually yellow toned... not pink toned...?

There is hope!! The Loose Mineralize actually leans towards the yellow zone, which has been wonderful for me. Give it a shot, you might fall in love too!

So, today was the first day I used this with Fix + and Strobe Cream and my skin looks flawless. I am so much in love with this foundation it isn't even funny. I do believe I have found a HG foundation. YAY!

I saw it at the MAC store a couple of weeks ago...and it's also on the Macy's counter, too! I'm afraid of trying it due to the breakouts other people have received from it.

Ok....Uhh..this is going to sound dumb...but oh well....

Is the new Mineralize Powder Foundation (loose) the same as the "normal" Mineralize Skin Finish Naturals but "loose"??

I know they run darker than the reg. MSF Naturals. But...other than that, are they the same?

Cuz according to the MAC site...the reg. MSFN are not listed as a foundation--and this *new* Mineralize (Loose) is a foundation.

TIA!!

ps. Everyone's saying how these run darker than the reg. MSFN. I am NC25. I have the reg. MSFN pressed in medium. So....perhaps I should try "light medium" in the LOOSE?? Hmm..

because it is a medium-full coverage foundation, using the 187 will give you a light coverage. if you want medium coverage using it, you'll have to keep adding layers.

they aren't the same.

MSFN is a sheer to medium coverage powder. its not gonna cover alot of discoloration or blemishes the way foundations do, so this is beneficial for people who have slight discoloration and blemishes. you can use it alone (which i do), or use it to set foundation to get a natural finish.

MLF SPF15 is a medium to full loose powder foundation (similar concept as studio fix but in loose form and way better!) applying it with the caplicator will give you medium coverage and a natural finish. adding more layers will give it fuller coverage. if you don't wanna use the caplicator, you can use a powder brush, which will give a lighter to medium coverage, depending on what brush you use of course. 150 will give medium, 187 will give lighter. you can also use a liquid foundation brush (190 or 191) and apply it that way for fuller coverage. and even tho it has a natural finish, the more you buff it using the caplicator or a buffer brush (180, 182, or 183) the more of a sheen you bring out, turning the finish into a natural satin.

so, they are two different products, but have a few similarities. as far as coverage goes, light medium, and maybe even light, would be recommended for you. if you can, go to a counter/store and get matched up so you know for sure.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion

I got this as a b-day gift and I really like it! I was using B.E. as my setting powder before, but now that I've been using it, I really don't care much for my B.E. anymore. haha..

I use a brush (187) to apply it, not the sponge. I wish it was in a different container though. Overall, great product!

Has anyone tried getting a sample of this? I don't want to buy a shade and go home just to find out its not for me and then return it..

How long does this stuff stay on your face? I have a problem with foundations wearing/melting off my face by noon.
