MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencil Collection - (April 3, 2014)

Ok IDK why my lips look hella HUUGE here but must be the angle. Anyway, this is Patentpink; creamy, shiny and really not all that sheer on me (I have like salmon lip tone and NC40). I'll swatch Fearless when I get home from Pilates so my trainer isn't like "WTF with the makeup?!" Lol!

It's good to be picky! I used to be so much more finicky about what colors looked good on me…like, I thought I could only wear pink blush and never any coral lipstick. I'm glad I've branched out now, but at the same time, I spend A LOT more on makeup now too, lol.

I like Spontaneous on you! It's definitely more of a MLBB color, even on me at NC15 (with red lips). Teen Dream and Hopelessly Devoted are the two colors I think would look the most WOW on you, if you want maximum impact, and maybe Berry Bold too. That is, if you want a reason to spend more money on these

Teen Dream looks really similar to Dreaming Dahlia. Soooo glad I didn't get it now.

Hmm...can anyone do a swatch of dreaming dahlia vs. teen dream? I really wanted DD but Lustres & I do not mix well...

Yeah, this is one of the drawbacks. You don't need to use much per application, but overall, I think that it'd be easier to get through one of these than a standard lipstick. I think they'll take longer to go through than your average gloss, though.



Agreed with all of the above! I'm contemplating getting more since I'm almost through a few of the lipsticks I've been trying to use up. These are new favorites for me.. but obviously a love/hate product depending on your wishlist for lipstick qualities. Definitely important to take your own wants/needs into consideration. My lips are not very pigmented, I have a fair skintone, I like light glossy textures, and I don't have issues with lines or dryness. For me, these are perfect. For others, they could be horrible. Try them out in store if you're on the fence!

I'll probably check out HD in stores after Kittenish gets here. That one I'll keep for everyday. They're a little shiny/glossy for my taste but maybe a different color will satisfy me. I'll find one to love, I'm sure.

UGH i die!!

it goes on so smooth "like buttah"
(sorry if someone already posted that barbs line)
and this baby shines!
anddd then this baby dries down semi matte but no tightness as it settles in even hours later
and this baby leaves a stain
and this baby doesnt leave that cruddy lipstick crust that can sometimes happen

and i am getting more!

not a sharpen, you turn at the base so it comes out
I HATE sharpen lip pencils

ill have a swatch once i wax this tache!

[COLOR=333333]Here is the photo of the swatches. I'm sorry it's not that great, but at least you can kind of have an idea of the colors. Plus I think MAC still has free overnight shipping going on until tonight with the code 'NEXT'.[/COLOR] They kind of feel like the Huggable Lipsticks on the lips. Again, they're initially sheer on the lips, but buildable and seemingly do have a semi-pigmented/pigmented, depending on which one you get and how much you layer, glossy finish. I haven't worn them out and really road-tested them yet because I literally just got them.

Yep. Got spontaneous today and it's going back to where it came from! Please don't waste $20 on this unless you like a barely there glossy tint. Even revlon did better. If I wasn't iphone camera challenge I would post a pic of it right now but I won't waste your time lol not for $20 atleast.

[ Go for girlie and Teen dream These sucked. My coworker got them and didn't like them. Let me swatch cause she's returning them. I don't blame her. Huggables these are NOT They fall in the crease and so far made my lips all dry and peely Patchy Yuck.

These two are pretty sheer, very glossy. They feel good on my currently dehydrated lips. I like them and will definitely try more in store where I can swatch to see the opacity of the rest. Overall though I really like them and these two will be great for everyday, "no makeup" makeup looks. The feeling reminds me of sheen supremes. Not as slippy as the huggables.

Again, too sheer **for me**. Is this one pass?

These look cool and pretty,  but good lord there is hardly anything in those tubes!

That's definitely off putting! Especially because of the sheer factor. If I'm going to like these I'll have to slather these on & it seems like I could go thru that amount very, very quickly.

Love Huggables too. Much more than I initially thought. I feel Ike I should just enjoy them & pass these up, but Skippers Remorse stinks & then realizing how much you do like something & having to hunt it down stinks. I wouldn't mind hunting things down if I felt better & could run all over town but I honestly haven't been able to leave the house this whole week.

Tried on my Teen Dream & I most say the color was beautiful but on my lips it was the same as Dreaming Dahlia. The color pay off was good & it was buildable. I love the formula it was very moisturizing!!! I will be going in to the store to swatch the others!

Lol @liba to be honest AFtER they dried on me ( I left TD on to my drive home from work) I digged it a little More so idk. She's returning it and called mac to have them send a return label which will take 3-4 biz days. She's letting me "test them" haha since they colors were too sheer for her. My lips are hydrated after I used the second one. I think I may just have been dried up (ew sounds weird) to begin with. But they were sticky and the color went everywhere so that part I didn't like. But an hour after I had this:

See how it looks uneven... I don't like that man. It pisses me off and messes w my OCD !!! Annnmmdddd I officially sound crazy right now. The color is very salmony so tomorrow I might just try on the other one the whole day and see how it does (the other one is go for girlie which as I stated before the shade was cute but it was soooo patchyyyyyy!)
