MAC - Peacocky discussion

I lost mine awhile ago -- just too many collections, too many new formulas, it's exhausting.

I know what you mean. I haven't bought any make-up since Venemous Villains aside from 1 cham pale product I am going to return. lol

Great, I am still pondering about Top of the Posh, I like that it has a golden sheen and is described as a lilac pink even though I never wear pinks on my eyes. hmmm Unflappable looks so different on the skin than it does in the pot. It kinda looks like Satin Taupe to me which I love but don't need another one of.

I was hoping Karlasugar's swatches would help but once I finally got it to a bareable level my lemmings shot back up again!
Help! I nee your expert opinions Spectra!
- Ego I adore dark greens and this just looks so nice but I already own a bunch of dark greens (usually I'm disapointed int hem because most swatch black but this one doesn't! Though I am wondering how it compares to WnW Envy)
- Prance I don't have a pink and this looks like a really unique silver-pink I think I might actually wear
- Spectacle of Yourself is such a lovely Auburn that I want it but I have issues getting browns to work on me in a way I actually like. But I want this to try and make browns more useable but since it's a very close shade to my hair colour I'm worried it will just look weird if I do get it and use it...
- Dandizette wasn't even on my list till Karla! It's so unique though such a neat violet-blue mixture. Though I do own other dark blues. And I own a ton of dark purple.
- Dalliance is the only one I know I'm getting because I've been looking for a white-gold shade but Karla describes it as green! Where did that come from! I don't want a green hint to it!

For lip colours
- Flaunting it I've got a huge love of purple lippies but I'm wondering just how different it is than NARS Downtown or Courting Lilac on the lips really
- Love Peck I do have a burgundy gloss already but this just looks so nice! But I have a burgundy! Uggh!
- Peacocky, seriously so unique but not sure if I can justify it since I won't wear it very often. Maybe if I mix it with Love Peck on the lips, it will look neat....

ANY opinions and guidance appreciated! (Yes I already went through HG economy/psyche guide lol- I recieved a MAC giftcard for my b-day)

Dalliance
Prance
Centre Stage
Unflappable

Maybe Spectacle of Yourself... Going to (hopefully) swatch this one in person against Antiqued.

Uh-oh... I knew this would happen when Karla S posted her swatches, but my list just went up... It's not completely crazy, but it's definitely larger than what I'd counted on yesterday.

Shadows
Dalliance
Prance
Mating Call
Noir Plum

Lipsticks
Temper Tantra
Love Peck
Peacocky

I think that works out to about $130 (I'm not sure of the prices and doing the math in my head, so that's a guess), which for me is not bad...

Just dropped $92 on the UD pencil set, so I'll just be getting Love Peck from here. But, not super disappointed or anything. I just kind of wanted to try a shadow and that's why I was gonna get Top of the Posh. Can't wait for Love Peck, though!

I find it so hard to get excited about MAC collections nowadays - are MAC and me breaking up? The eyeshadows in this collection are gorgeous and normally I'd be all over them. Dalliance is so pretty as well as Dandizette, but then I think meh... Dalliance reminds me of Sunnydaze pigment... and I have Deep Truth and UD Goddess... and then I don't care anymore. It's good news for my wallet, but kind of sad in a way. Is this the end of a great love affair?

After Karlas swatches I am falling even deeper in love with these shadows! The purple lover in me is LOVING Noir Plum (looks awesome wet in T's look!) and Mating Call! Ego is such an awesome green, it almost looks like a dark emerald green

I think it will look great with my brown eyes. Prance and Top of the Posh would look great together. On the down side her swatches are making me want Dalliance and Odalisque even more! Dandzinate is pretty but dont think it will look all that great with brown eyes.
I'm passing on the lipcolors, there's some nice colors but nothing I NEED to have. I might give in and get a pink one last min.

I know how you feel!

But I think I already have so much - have bought from every LE collection since August 2006 - shocking - there isn't a lot that can still excite me now.

I LOVE what I have and will buy only a few more things in 2011 - probably a lot from the summer collection (Surf Baby), the fall and the holiday collection. That's it.

Wow, Karla's Swatches are Amazing! Many Thanks! Dandizette is gorgeous! Actually I just loved seeing Dandizette, Spectacle, Center Stage & Unflappable all in a row - bingo - getting all of those Woo Me, Flaunting it, & Scandelicious! and then I'm gonna run ;)

My MA said that Dandizette is similar to Contrast - although to me it looks way more wow than Contrast
She loved Prance a lot! in person. She was really hyper about how much she loved them.

*off to watch Karla's swatches....*

Edit: I love that she had sun outside to take her pictures.... The sun interested me more than the swatches

After looking at Karla's swatches, I couldn't take Temper Tantra off my list fast enough. I won't wear that; much too dark for my taste. However, Super is looking good to me again. With the natural color of my lips, I think Super is a good nude for me.

So I think I have my e/s list narrowed down to:

Prance (This will be perfect with Shale!)
Dalliance (Does this really have a greenish tint? If so, this may be a pass for me.)
Unflappable (LOVE this!! Fantastic looking taupe!)
Centre Stage (Maybe)

I'm having a really hard time passing on/forgetting about Ego. It looks like a great shade of green for people who can't usually rock some greens (like me, lol)...so that may end up coming home too. I'm such a purple nut that I'm shocked about passing on Noir Plum, but it just isn't calling to me for some reason.

For the lips, I'm starting with only Woo Me. If I like the feel/wear time I'll probably be picking up: Love Peck, Scandalicious, and Strut Your Stuff. I really like Exxxhibitionist, but it's far too close to VG Cyndi for me to pick up (I really LOVE VG Cyndi though, so maybe I'll get it anyway, lol). I also like So Vain, but it reminds me of Strange Potion and any number of other l/g I already have so that's a pass. I'm chickening out of Peacocky (sorry Shontay!!), I just can't do it.

I think you are exactly right - I've been buying MAC since early 2007 and I guess there are only so many shades of eyeshadow out there - sooner or later you're going to get a strong feeling of déja-vu.

I also love what I have and the fact that I am not using it enough (because I keep buying new stuff) makes me a little sad and stressed out, and it takes the fun out of purchasing more.

Finally some swatches!

I couldn't care less about the eyeshadows, but now that I've seen pics, I think I want Love Peck, Peacocky, and Flaunting It. Unfortunately, I doubt that I'll be able to leave my desk on launch day, so hopefully I won't have jury duty on Friday and can go get them.

Peacocky is really pretty, but I just know if I bought it I really wouldn't use it. I work at such a conservative place that I know it would get usage maybe once, and that'll be just to test it.

Love Peck, Flaunting It and Scandelicious are the lippies I bought.

Haven't purchased any shadows yet, though if I do, i'd probably get noir plum, mating call, center stage, spectacle of yourself and dalliance.

i dunno why but this collection is the hardest one to decide what i want from...it's never been this difficult lol.
