MAC - Peacocky discussion

My list right now: Eyeshadows- Dalliance, Peek at You or Prance, Sexpectations, Spectacle of yourself. Lipsticks: Flaunting It, Love Peck, Scandalicious and either So Vain or Exhibitionist...will wait to see in person as I always do...

So that was my list ^ and I thought for sure when I got to the store and swatched it all, I would not walk away with half of that (I tend to go that route once i see items in person). But nope. WOW it's all gorgeous... I walked away with A LOT more than I ever have from a MAC Collection.

The pigmentation was beautiful. I wouldn't call the eyeshadow (samples) buttery or creamy though? I dunno, that's going a bit far imo. I think they are the texture/pigmentation of the better UD eyeshadows that have come out. jmo.

I think Karla's swatches are the most accurate I saw online before buying by the way...

This is what I ordered today (though I won't be able to take it home with me til Thursday):

Eyeshadows:

(1)Dalliance
(2)Prance
(3)Spectacle of Yourself (was not on my list, but WOW it's gorgeous in person...breathtaking metallic reddish brown & so pigmented...and sexpectations was too ruddy for me so this took it's place)
(4) Plum Noir (the whole way home I kicked myself for not ordering this one at the store. It's truly gorgeous/metallicy purple.I have so many purples that I tried to dismiss my want for it. But
I got home, saw that the e/s were online and ordered it. Happy Ending. lol.

I have to tell you, I was also very taken by Unflappable. I may just end up getting that too...lol. It's a gorgeous purply black that would go beautifully with Noir Plum for a smoky purple eye.

Lipstick-glosses: I really liked the consistency of these...but I would just call them full color glosses. Not kissable, and they are not lipstick-y by any means (not goopy lipstick like an OCC lip tar)...I bought:

(1) Love Peck
(2) Scan Delicious

I loved Exhibitionist too but I don't think I'd use it too often....so I passed. For now. We'll see if I resist lol.

For the 3 shadows I bought and 2 lipsticks, my total was about 101 USD$ in store if you're interested (including tax)...then I went home and ordered Noir Plum so my total spent on this collection app. 120$...that's a lot (for me) from one LE collection...whosa. (that's not including the other 3 items I bought that weren't from this collection so I feel a little dirty *g*). Last big haul before starting to save for a new laptop.

Well, I ordered my two eye shadows with the total price of $54.04. I would have liked to have ordered more but I must stick within my budget.

I thought I could wait to order my Peacocky stuff after the tension from the Mickey collection, but I should have known better...I can't ever wait.

I ended up with Woo Me, Prance, Dalliance, Unflappable, and Ego. I decided to hold off on Centre Stage for now, but I may pick that up if I find this new formula to be orgasmic. I have quite a few dark browns (gigantic understatement, lol), but it can be harder to find a cool toned version and this one looks great. If these new shadows can be used easily as liners...it'll be even harder to pass on. We'll see how long I can hold off on ordering it, lol. If I love Woo Me I'll pick up a few more lippies, but I think I'm safe to wait on that for a few days.

Should I skip Love Peck? I really don't like it in Karla's swatches. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'm skipping Love Peck. Like Shontay said, Hang Up really is close, especially on my skin tone.

Guess I'm skipping Peacocky!

You're not alone, I believe that i'll be getting just 2 items, 3 at a push myself.

Although LovePeck isn't what I was expecting, I definitely will get it and Noir Plum.

Off Topic slightly, has anybody tried NYX Soft Matte Lip Cremes?? The product sounds a lot like Kissable Lip Color.

If those are any way similar to the Kissable Lip Colour I will be all over them.

Oh and I went back to the Pro Store and grabbed Center Stage. Yum! That's all I have to say about that!

Just to add a comparison: If you have seen theBalm "Mary Lou Manizer" Dalliance reminded me of that neutral shimmery color but with a bit more of a green/antique tinge to it. The SA I talked to compared it to mac vex... though she liked dalliance better

Karla`s swatches are great. My wishlist was Dalliance, Prance, Unflappable and So vain. I skipped Dalliance because I have shroom, vex and retrospeck the shadows everyone compared it too and I like them all. Plus everyone seems to buy it, chance is someone won`t like it and it will sell it on clearence bin . Anyways these 3 es are bought by many so they will probably go out first.

I know I want dalliance for sure, and a couple of other neutral tones, as thats what I'm comfortable with, and they look stunning, but I really want to expand my brights with these,

Hey ladies!

I went into the MAC pro store downtown Toronto yesterday, and there were already 2 colours gone - Odalisque and Noir Plum! Apparently one of the didn't even come in...

In store, I bought Woo Me, Dalliance, Spectacle of Yourself and Top of the Posh. Needless to say, I rushed to order Odalisque and Noir Plum when I woke up this morning so I wouldn't miss out, along with my MC items

I LOVE the formula of the lip colours! I found that while they went on like a creamy, pigmented gloss, after about half an hour or so they sort of melt into your lips for more of a creamy lipstick finish, which I loved. Absolutely no water bottle transfer for me after that first half hour or so!

I just order :
