Violetta OVER it? Not under? Sorry I'm weird and have problem picturing solid over liquid...but then again, Peacocky should apply light enough that that should work...okay I'm so trying this when I get home!

I see your point. You can always use a brush. I hate the idea of getting my lipsticks "dirty" with other products. Gloss brushes, I don't really care, but I am very uptight bout keeping my lipsticks pretty for some reason.

It's supposed to snow here again tomorrow into Saturday, but flurries in the morning. I'm throwing on my uggs and trying to hit Mac before I get stranded!

i used the 217 to apply and blend. i did not need to pat the shadow on with a 239, the 217 did everything, no fallout at all. applied beautifully!
i wish there was a MAC video or face chart for these so I can see what the pros are using with these. Her Greyness, what brush did you find gave a good application with these shadows?
The 217 is probably my favorite MAC brush ever.
I hope MAC does one of their "Artist in Action" or whatever videos they do showcasing the e/s and lipsticks in this collection.
I would love some more tips!

I had that thought a few hours ago. I was about to ask if there were face charts that I somehow missed. I need ideas.

I would normally have done it the other way too, but I already had Peacocky on. I applied Violetta more to the inner part of the lips, which gave a nice blue into purple degrade. Because the texture of the KLC isn't as liquid as a normal gloss, it's not as weird as one might think. Applied in either way, I think it would work...

I haven't seen any face charts to date.. but not saying they won't show up later.

For the easiest application of these powdery textures, I always use the 217 -- there will not be any fallout from these as the consistency is creamy and there is very little talc in them.

Got my Peacock stuff today (as well as my deliveries of Mickey Contractor and the last of my Stylishly Yours).

This was my ORIGINAL list (based on color descriptions and few swatches):

vanity fair
exxxhibitionist
strut your stuff
scandelicious
love peck
peacocky (x2)

Mega Metal Shadows:

dalliance
top of the posh
sexpectations (x2)
odalisque
noir plum
ego
unflappable

What I came home with was:
Dalliance
Top of the Posh
Sexpectations
Noir Plum (someone mentioned earlier that this was just like Violet pigment. I disagree..strongly)
Paparazz-she
Love Peck
Peacocky
Flaunt It

I didn't expect to love Paparazz-she and Flaunt It as much as I did. I wanted to love Ego, Unflappable and Odalisque. I don't use the greens and teals that I have. And Unflappable seemed kind of flat. I may go back and retry that one though.

I love everything that I got.

I didn't back up anything. I find myself buying less and less than normal. I think I have reached a saturation point for right now.

Shontay - The glosses look fab on you. Super looks awesome & sexy on you!!!
Thanks, elegant! I wore that one out today. I wanted a natural color since I wasn't wearing anything else on my face. It lasted a good 3 hours and I love to repply because it just glides on.

So far I really, really am loving everything. The texture of the lippies is fantastic. I LOVE the way these feel. They apply like a dream. I've only tried the Strut Your Stuff on my lips so far and it is great. (But I am partial to this sort of orange-red on me). I was hoping these would not be too shiny like a gloss (I prefer lipstick over gloss) and these definitely are not glosses! Like a lipstick, these can be built up or sheered out. And although the initial color blots down, I did find this to leave sort of a stain of color on my lips, Now this could just be because I put on the red one, but when I tested flaunting it on my hand, it did a similar sort of thing....so these definitely will wear more like a lipstick than a gloss.. The formula is genius. I would love to see this become a permanent formula. I'll probably try one of the more neutral colors tomorrow.

My initial e/s order was for: Unflappable, Centre Stage, Prance, Ego, Dandizette and Dalliance.
I've only tried Ego (the green one) so far. And trying it on aver a full, tired, end of day face of makeup is definitely not optimal conditions.

I used a 239 and lightly tapped it on and then took a 224 to blend the edges a bit. Like the Starflash shadows, I found that it was very easy to over-blend the color away and had to reapply a bit with the 239 to get the look I wanted. I will definitely be trying these with the 242 and 217 to try finding the best application technique. The color is holding on very well and very true to color - - this green is really, really beautiful - - I feel like I have to be careful with any shimmery/metallic eye shadows, but so far I am really liking these. I think someone early on compared these to pressed pigments and that is how I would describe this formula. So for the pressed pigment lovers out there, MAC did the work for you with these e/s!

I've only tested Ego so far on my eyes, but the only one I found not that great in swatching was Unflappable. I'm hoping it does more on my eyes than on the back of my hand. It seemed a little more dry and not as smooth as the others....but I think it will make a gorgeous smokey eye and I'm kind of glad this one doesn't have the metallic sheen of some of the others. I think this will make it more versatile - especially in a smokey look.

Will definitely post more as I play more (it's kind of sad, I barely even glanced at the Mickey C stuff which came in the other black box today - - not sure why MAC chose to release these collections in tandem).
Anyway. I love reading everyone's thoughts and suggestions and combos! What they bought, what they skipped. I am seriously lemming the rest of the e/s.

Her Greyness with the crystal ball and pink pants - thank you for the early sneak peeks future predictions - I would love to see MAC keep it up with these textures in both eyes and lips. Hopefully MAC keeps playing with the formulas and technology to really deliver stellar product instead of just the same-old. I "discovered" MAC way back when they were doing things no one else was doing and bringing colors to the masses that no one else was bringing. This collection goes back to that original MAC philosophy and I hope they keep it up.

!!!!!!

Shockingly at first swipe the lighter colors I got (Top of the Posh, Prance, Mating Call) were more pigmented than the darker ones I got (Ego & Noir Plum.) But they of course get more pigmented the more you layer on. I actually think the colors arent as typical as they seem! Yes thier normal colors but have different color tints to them. I LOVE that!

Prance- the most pigmented out of the 5. And also most metallic. It actually has a few diff colored tints to it. White, silverish-gold, pinkish-mauve tint. It's kind of hard to explain. Love love this color!
Top of the Posh- It's a pretty soft pink but not a typical pink. The gold tint is more apparent than I thought it would be, which is a good thing...so pretty! I was lacking a good light pink color and this color will fill that gap.
Mating Call- I have plenty of vibrant darker purples and really needed a lighter purple. It has a slight pinkish tint to it. Love love it! It's soooooo pretty!
Ego- Pretty standard forrest green, but thats ok cause I was lacking one in my coll. I dont see much of a gold tint, but I'm sure more gold will shine through when paired with golds. It's not as dark as I thought it would be, again not a bad thing!
Noir Plum- Gorg dark purple with a bluish tint and sparkles. It's def a true purple and not a plum purple, which I LOVE! I can't wait to use this for smokey purple eyes!!!

So all in all I'm in love! These are def more pigmented and vibrant than a lot of other MAC colors I've had. I've always preferred UD shadows to MAC ones because UD's were always better in pigment. I'm really wanting other colors, but am trying to restrain myself! I will be getting Dalliance and Enchantee l/g in the mail sometime next week though...yay!!!

Your rave is making me think that I need to get Prance now. I'm wondering how close Top of the Posh is to Nanogold before I buy it because I have Nanogold.

Do the Mega Metal shadow pans fit in the MUFE palette? Or did you take the divider out also?

I bought a palette that fits La Femme blushes. The sell them locally here at theater or costume shops or where Ben Nye is sold. I depotted my cream color bases a while back and they fit perfectly in this palette. They hold 12 colors. The Makeup Forever slots are just a bit smaller, but like you said you can always remove the divider as well. Here is a link one site that sells the palette:
