MAC - Peacocky discussion

That's really strange indeed! here a peacocky eyeshadow costs 22 Euro.. and 22Euro = 29,8$ !!! but you, Kanne, pay the double of the original price!!
Anyway.. Is life in Australia more expensive than in Usa? Does people take a bigger salary? or it's only about make up?

I think the minimum wage is higher...I dunno about comparisons of anything else but makeup but I think it's pretty ridiculous. Anyway, I guess I was prepared for them to be $40, an extra $3 isn't that much of a difference, but when you know packaging and product can't honestly cost more than what, $10? $15? that's a pretty nice profit, and a pretty big dent in my spendings account ($43x2+$15 shipping...). I hope they're worth it! lol

It's FINALLY online! Shadows are 43 freaking dollars! More than TT shadows! What a joke...anyway, I'm getting Dalliance and Unflappable, I may pick up Prance if it's still available when MSFN in my colour ever comes back in stock. Feeling a little ripped off, hope these are worth it!
jeez that is crazy! but enjoy the couple you are buying!

I did a summery look w/Paparazz-she (wishful thinking?) -

I used a blend of Evening Aura and Straw Harvest in the inner corner, Pa. in the middle and Cool Water on the outer lid.

Cool Water is insanely gorgeous!

I put Saddle in the crease to blend and Nylon to highlight.

Love!

Wow,

Those Aus. prices for MAC are ridiculous! I wonder if they sell a lot of product there?

I heard that there's luxury tax imposed on cosmetics over in Australia, is it true??

I just bought Prance last night online, so now I'm going to have 4 of these shadows. Hopefully I can add a couple more before they all sell out.

I tried a Mega Metal eyeshadow for the first time yesterday (Paparazz-she) and it creased on me within an hour or two, plus it faded quite quickly too. That was with no base or primer, so today I've been wearing UDPP with Prance, Mating Call and Noir Plum, and no creasing or fading at all 4 hours on. I will be trying TFSI as well, but UDPP definitely works for me.

Do you know a dupe in the permanent line for center stage (mulch maybe?) or top of the posh?
Yeah prices are crazy outside Us, here a regular ls or es is 24-25$
Argh this is my third try to post

center stage you can try mulch, twinks or tempting. they are similar browns like centre stage, but centre does not have the glitter in it like these other colors have. Also, centre stage is a very cool brown. the ones i listed are warmer.

Any ideas with which colours I could pair Dalliance with? I don't want to pair it with greens... (the obvious choice) and my mind doesn't work properly...
I cruised this Dalliance Look this weekend: Friday PM--Dalliance all over with Solar bits Black Ore and Unflappable in the crease

Also, if you don't have too many of these MM shadows, Dalliance looks good with UD Smog or with Gold Stroke if you have that. You could also use Carbon in the crease with it.

Saturday was my fave: Dalliance all over with Rollickin PP underneath and Ego in the crease. This was so pretty I called it my Mermaid look and BF was impressed, he said I had fish scale eyes. The aqua PP and the smidge of Ego brought out the green tones in the Dalliance. For the lip I used Spring Bean + Liquid Luxe Dazzle lipstick after nuding out my lips with a lip pencil.

Today I was going for pinks so I used ToP all over, Sexpectations in the outter corner. I used Style Snob (Prance could work too) in the brow area and a dab of Smoke Signals piggie in the V of the eye (Noir Plum could work for this as well). The e/s all work so well together! I paired this with St Germain lippie but if I had Enchantee or Vanity Fair it would have looked good.

The only way I justify it is that if I'm going to pay $25 for a poor quality Revlon quad...I might as well be paying $43 for an excellent quality eyeshadow, use less and don't have as much drama. I'd love to see anyone try to justify the amount things cost here. I just bought 2 Nars blushes from ASOS, so in GBP, and with the exchange rate they both cost me AUD$64.95 and free shipping...ONE Nars blush in Australia costs $62. The eyeliners from Champale cost $32 each...and they charge me $15 for express shipping (which I need to get because of the insane weather, I'd like it to arrive...standard is $10!!!). This will be my last makeup buy for a while, apart from the MSFN which is a necessity since I don't actually have any powder at all at the moment. Since AUD$1=USD$1, please explain. It's not just MAC...Australian brands cost more here than overseas!

That is crazy. All of it. $25 for Revlon? just can't get over that. I don't even pay the the cheapie price when it's buy one get one free. I love NARS blush but geez

There's a goods and services tax, it's 10%, and it's on the majority of products including supermarket foods etc.

Anyway, hopefully they are here Thursday! For some reason I never feel as guilty about internet shopping as I do getting things straight from the store.

It's a little tricky to find UDPP here, so I end up using Mac paint pots. Works very well for me, including with the MM eye shadows.

On that note... I picked up Paparazz-she today. I swear this is my last one. I was tempted by Unflappable, but I really don't think I'd notice the difference between it and a number of other dark shades I have. I tried on Flaunting It again, but it still didn't look distinct enough from what I already have to justify a purchase. So now, I'm done with this collection, I swear. No more. I have to save for Sheen Supreme and Quite Cute.

I really like Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I can't really tell much difference in it and UDPP. I have both but find myself using the shadow insurance more.

I can't even tell you all how much I love this collex... I see you guys do too. I've gotten 10 out of the 15 and the first time I used paparazzi I sighed with love.

Oh and Flaunting it... LOVE IT.

Are you guys using Friyanne's epoxy with it?

I treated myself to Dalliance and Strut Your Stuff today. I thought Dalliance would be similar to Sunnydaze pigment but when I compared, Sunnydaze is much more brown. Unflappable was also hard to resist, but I could only afford one eyeshadow and one lippie and I think I'll get more use out of Dalliance. Today I am wearing it with Fiction in the crease which works really well.
SyS is gorgoeus! A perfect red, and I really like the formula!

The same for me. UDPP feels a lot thinner in consitency and that's why i prefer TFSI.

Today i did a look with Paparazz-she. I used Goldmine on the inner half of my lids, Paparazz-she on the outer half, Samoa Silk to blend out, Sketch in the crease and under my eyes and Blanc Type as highlighter. I love this look and Paparazz-she is amazing with my blue eyes! I also used the kissable lipcolours i got and i really hope they will be part of the permanent collection at some point. The formula is just amazing! They feel not heavy or sticky and they feel moisturizing.
