MAC - Peacocky discussion

So I caved and bought Dalliance and Super. They were just shipped today! I think I can do so much with both so I knew I'd be mad if they passed. Between this and WW I'm glad I'm not interested in any upcoming collections until Surf Baby. The wallet needs to replenish.

Just came back from the MAC store where I finally got to play with the Peacocky collection

As mentioned before, I had a friend in the UK pick up Prance, Spectacle of Yourself, Dalliance, Tweet Me, Noir Plum, Unflappable and Centre Stage only on your reccomendations and swatches, and today, when I got to play with the colours, I was totally confirmed they were the right choices, so THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks also for your inputs on the last shadows to get. I ended up with Paparazz-she, Peek At You and Mating Call, which I love and am sure I will get a ton of use out of. Same thing with Peek At You even though it is not unique, but I actually like that both shadows are subttle… Skipped Ego – it is so beautiful, but I do not use greens that often, and the limit was 10 shadows!!!!

Sexpectations is very cool too – the MA gave me a good tip to wear it over a black base.. It looked awesome on her – she has green eyes – so I think I might be able to get some more use out of Cranberry now.. I skipped Sexpectations because I haven´t used Cranberry much, so just passing the tip along…

I also got Woo Me – so nice!!

Thanks for that tip about Sexpectations! I always forget to try over a dark base. I bet it is pretty like that. I will try.

i wore paperaz-she last night for a nice tropical eye look. it was awesome! i think it's my favourite shadow in a long time!

And so I thought I wouldn't want Papparaz-she... until today I put on Taj Mahal on my eyelid, just to see how it looked like since it's a similar color on my skin with Papparaz-she. I added some warm browns to soften it (something in the color of SoY) and it's so pretty! Oh dear... I must resist... arrrgh...

So I decided to get three instead of two. I got Top Of The Posh, Dalliance, and Mating Call. I paid a little more and got Top Of The Posh off evilbay, since it's not available on the MAC site anymore. Crossing my fingers over 20 times that it's not fake. The seller had A LOT of feedback and ALL 100% positive, so I'm hopeful. The picture looked real too, so pray for me ladies!

The more I read this thread the more I want to buy some of these eyeshadow and more of the kissable lipcolour. I already bought Centre Stage, Woo Me, and Flaunting It. Now I want Noir Plum, Unflappable, & SOY!! However, NP is sold out in the MAC website and I really wanted that one (I like purple) but sites like Macys, Nordstrom, and Dillards charge too much for shipping I would have to buy $50 worth of makeup, which can be easy with these eyeshadows but I don't have $50 to spend right now. I'm trying to cut back on makeup since I have enough. I'm considering going to Sephora next time and just buying MUFE's eyeshadow in 92 since its the same price and more pigmented. Let's see.

Ahh so much for resisting this collection lol!! So far all I've heard here is how awesome this collection is and yes it is by far the best collection I've seen in a long time and the colors are more me. I'm just not really skilled at applying different eyeshadows at the same time, I am such an amateur but I think I'm getting better at it hehe.

BTW: where is Elegant? I miss her posts, she's such an enabler lol. I love her!!

Good luck with it, hun!!!! It should probably be OK I'd think it would be hard to dupe these well and quickly to make convincing fakes, so we might be safe for a while... hopefully!

Yep, Woo Me was the first one I bought. Super is quite close to it actually, just a tiny bit darker. It looks very natural on, a good neutral shade to wear with any look.

It seems to happen around here - lists getting longer and longer.

Gorgeous paired with Top of the Posh and Mating Call, Mating Call and Noir Plum, Top of the Posh and Centre Stage, pretty used as an all-over wash with a winged liner, could be gorgeous with Paparazz-She and Noir Plum, Sexpectations and SoY..... plus it would be beautiful over a strong pink or purple base, like a fluidline or Grease paint stick Marajode has said that over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy it is transformed into something extraordinary. Hope that helps!

My eyeshadows arrived! Dalliance is soooo gorgeous, great texture and really pigmented. Unflappable, I am less impressed with. I still love the colour, but it doesn't have the same impressive texture, I guess it's kind of uneven? And harder to pick up with my brush. I might try it over a cream eyshadow to see if that helps. It's so gorgeous in the pan though!
