MAC Playland Collection - April 7, 2014

I don't know what's wrong w/me. I use a MAC product every single day, but the latest collections have
just left me uninspired---this is just so unlike me.

The hygienist didn't announce what she was doing---she engaged me in conversation and started rubbing my
earlobes---I honestly thought it was a little creepy at first, but realizing the strategy I relaxed and thought it was
brilliant!

Liba this was hysterical! I couldn't stop laughing---I was laughing so hard that I frightened the dog. I think if she
were able to, she would have dialed 911.
Maybe it was more exciting when we had the color stories earlier and more swatches? 'made every collection exciting. I know how excited I get when I get to see everything. I sit around in that back room for 4,5,or even 6 hours fooling around with everything in every combination I can think up, then my friend parades me around to all the other MAs. Or maybe you just have enough stuff that the latest MAC collections seem a little too same-y? I know I get much more excited for the new formulas, rather than just the color collections.

Earlobe and ear massage is great for your whole body - every acupuncture point in the body has a corresponding point on the ear. It feels great to rub the whole ear up and down with the flats of your palms until they're very very hot - it's good for your immune system too, because it makes you less sensitive to temperature and wind fluctuations in the outside environment, so your body doesn't have to work so hard to keep adjusted. 'Glad they treat you right at the dentist!

That movie is very very adorable and funny - Judy Holliday was a brilliant Broadway actress who did very few starring roles in film. Her speciality was ditzy but canny blondes who knew how to stand up for themselves. Born Yesterday is another classic she won the Academy Award for. If they show them on Turner Classics or they're available for rent, you will love them (and catch yourself saying how they sure don't make 'em like that any more).

Hello there!!

And have any of you ever purchased "all the items" from a collection? I am seriously planning to do that with this one.

:)
It feels like I have, but when I sat down to think about it, it always turns out there will be a few things in a collection I never wind up getting, no matter how much else I buy. I guess psychologically there is always a part of me that refuses to buy something that doesn't work for me or that isn't different or improved enough from what I already have. I KNOW I've done stuff like buy every lipstick in a collection or every MSF, but even when the collection is all one product, like the Patentpolishes or Huggables, I leave out at least the one or two colors that don't work for me. I STILL have a ton of makeup, though, so it doesn't help THAT much….

I have the Vanity Hollywood Mirror and have been looking to get new bulbs. The ones that come with it are 25W 120V and they give off a horrible orange like light. Called the company and they were no help in regards to which ones to change it to. So thanks for this Erin! I will look into the 5000 natural daylight ones this weekend :)
You're welcome! I work with a photographer who shoots in natural daylight, and in my salon i try to use natural daylight to do all my makeup applications, but when it's cloudy out, we have to rely on the indoor lighting, so we use the natural daylight bulbs. If you go to Lowes, they actually have a display set up with all the different levels of bulbs, so you can see what each bulbs gives off.

I'm with you, Erine! Knock me out and wake me up when you're done. In Cali I got knocked out or sedated for everything. I moved back to Pgh and they won't do it for any in-office procedures. If they stick a needle in my back for a steroid shot, nothing. And to have a camera pushed up into my bladder?Nothing. It sucks.
yep that's how it works here! that's why I asked about teeth extraction.. probably the doctor would laugh at me if I'd ask for a total anesthetic.. same for colonscopy and so on.. thanks god I didn't experience such painful things +_____+

Live it up alone, two thin layers

Live it up ontop of Sleek - Tangerine Scream Lipstick.

So I just got a sample of Live it up Lipglass (And Primrose from Proenza Schouler, gonna throw myself over that after this :D). This one has medium coverage I would say but it definitely wants to lie in the fine lines. it is absolutely freaking GORGEOUS ontop of other orangey lipsticks though, I tried it on Tangerine Scream from Sleek and It just felt nice and smooth and made the lips feel more moisturized.

That's EXACTLY how it behaved on me - a little too settling when worn alone, but on top of lipstick - WATCH OUT! All the glosses in this collection act the same way. Besides on top of lipstick, I think they'll work well over lip pencil too, for a simpler look.

Great photos, too! Thanks!

Ugh can this collection just release already??? I feel like I've been waiting forever and a day!!! Since I'm waiting to order all the things I want from the past few collections until this one comes out, I think I'm more antsy than usual.

Looks like this will be a Douglas exclusive here.

I'm so tired of all the exclusive BS here, especially when the same collections are available everywhere in other countries.

Thank you for sharing! I think I will pick this one up.

Wow that would suck if it was a Douglas exclusive in Switzerland, too. Tho I can't imagine they'd do that here. I've already ordered 4 of the lippies on ebay and I can't wait for the collection to come out

I'm sorry for supporting the ebay sellers, but the lippies are even cheaper on there than they are here in Switzerland (we pay around 31$ for 1 lipstick), siiigh.
