MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correct (February 6, 2014)

Could someone explain how they would use the lavender loose and compact? Just curious?
I'm totally guessing, but I use a Chanel very slightly tinted lavender SPF base that is used to brighten, correct for darkness/overpigmentation (it's called "lys" in the Chanel base line/asia exclusive). It sounds weird, but it does even out my skin immensely. I could nearly skip foundation. But the Chanel Lys is much, MUCH softer in its lavender tone than these promo pics from MAC. So I can use the chanel lys all over my face, get the SPF sun protection, dust it with a little bit of my skin-toned powder and I'm good to go.

With these, I'm not sure. Because MAC lists "lavender" as the illuminating one, this lavender might have a similar impact--brightening. I remember erine1881 stating that these powders were only supposed to be used where needed (I think she said not all over, but I'd have to go back and check the Early Buzz thread). So, I'm really not sure. I think booking an appt with an SA is going to be my strategy as well, because I don't want to over-use these or have them look weird.

Just like any other powder. These are color correctors, so they just neutralize the skin instead of covering it up. If you're using the CC colors for the correct things, the actual CC color wont show up, it will just cancel out the red, purple, blue, etc you were trying to reduce. Lavender- brightens sallow and uneven complexions Yellow- Reduces blotchiness/redness Peachy Beige- Brightens dull complexions Apricot- Corrects blues/purples and warms yellow/olive/or deeper skin tones.
Thanks so much!

Lol I'm suppose to pick one of the shades base on what it does, but I want all the effects! I want to brighten, reduce redness and blotchiness and not be sallow!

That's the effect that the Guerlain meteorites are supposed to have--a mix of correction. But many find the effect too subtle.

pick either the pink or lavender.. both of these would work. I might get a lavender powder since I already have pink and yellow powders.

Chanel Lilas is a similar powder to the Lavender -- prob more finely milled to. I have that so I will stay put on this.

^ if this is for me, yes, I put it over foundation or BB -- just as a dusting to correct colour. It is not meant to seal makeup.

Do you put this powder on over foundation?
And only where needed. If you apply it where it's not needed, you will see the colour of the product. So let's say you get a neutralize product. If you apply it all over, and not just on top of areas of redness, you will see the yellow on those areas where there is not any redness. This applies to any of the products, whether it's the powder, or the compact, or the tube.

I might want to try these. But as other have said, I'd like to know more about how to use them and which best fits my skin needs.

I might give those a shot! I already have the hourglass palette and crazy meteorites though, not sure if these are a must...hmm

Thank you. I have redness in my cheeks I'd like to cover so whichever one does that will be the one I purchase.

I made a special trip to the Make Up For Ever store in Los Angeles so i could get the #8 Mauve Super Matte Loose Powder. (we were in LA to play a concert and as soon as we got there i drove my van load of musicians to the store) So i can pass on the lavender loose powder.

But i'd sure love a compact - much more portable. And with my pink cheeks, i could use the yellow or the apricot in something...

Just when i think i am strong and MAC cannot tempt me...
