Awww snap, y'all. I went to Mac pro earlier today and guess what I saw/ravaged/bought??? Yes. As soon as I stepped off the elevator and into the doorway I let out an audible...I don't know what to call it. I think it's a sound only a farm animal makes. Anyway, here are my purchases/impressions.
I bought:
Coral Crepe paint pot. Can we say AMAZING??? Truly gorgeous and delicious. It's not coppery at all. It's like a cousin of expensive pink and some other color that escaped me. It's a beautiful coral and I can't wait to wear it not only with other shadows, but completely alone.
Memorabilia shadow. I thought I was over purple. I didn't expect to be impressed by this and if memory serves me correctly, this is a repromote that didn't get much love on makeupalley. When I swatched it, though, I fell for it completely. I can see this with so many looks. It seems out of place in this collection, but it's a nice pop piece.
Made to Order lipstick. Gorgeous, creamy, shiny. All the good stuff. It's a lustre and I love lustres. This is truly a gorgeous coral and it screams summer to me. Especially awesome on girls with my coloring.
Fold and Tuck lipglass. Fall on the floor gorgeous all on it's own. A great compliment to MtO lipstick. I put them together and was blown away. I don't usually layer lippies, but I will have to do so with these occassionally.
Instant Chic blush. Ladies, do yourself a favor and get this! It makes me feel less stupid about missing Ripe Peach. I think this is better. I think this is better than Gina and Gilda by Nars. So pretty, so light, so face brightening I may wear this damn thing every day. Backup worthy.
What I didn't get:
Garb blush. Completely dead on my skin. I had flashbacks to The Perfect Cheek. *shudders*
Groundwork paint pot. Just not interested. The color of Coral Crepe made me even think of buying a paint pot.
Archetype lipstick. It's ok. Not very pigmented, but I guess it can add to other lip products when layered, but it's not worth it for me personally.
Dressmaker, Dressmaker. Again, really pretty, but not for my pigmented lips. It came off as kinda milky and just off on my coloring. Rock this pale girls.
C-Thru lipglass. Hell to the no. I know lots of people love this, but I don't get it. Milky and harsh. Ick.
Originality polish. Very pretty, but not a color I like to see on myself. I prefer brights and I'm leaning away from shimmery/frosty polishes.
Cut to Fit shadow. Reminds me of Coppering and Antiqued. Not a bad color, but on me I feel it makes me look like I have a rash. The color is too coppery/bronzey for me.
What I'm going back for:
Tissue Wait: Very pretty. It's not really outstanding or unique, but who can turn down a pretty color and nice finish like that? Pret A Papier lipglass: hotness. I tried not to go completely broke, so I left it behind. It will be mine, though. Paper Bag polish: Beautiful. It has a great texture and takes maybe 2 coats. Very subtle and sophisticated color. Kraft: Oh so pretty. I need it. Just had to leave it behind for budget reasons.
Jury is out on:
Gazette Grey: The texture seemed nice enough but it has some glitter/shimmer in it and I see that falling everywhere. It's nice, but I don't NEED it. Knowing me, though I will get it eventually.
Sorry about the long post. Just hope it helps. Swatches are coming.
