Sounds plumping. The tangerine peel extract gives me slight pause, and I wish they would use olive oil instead of castor oil and grapeseed oil, but other than that, I like the ingredients. Also, I do not see any retinal or similar stuff that could make my skin too inflamed. Perhaps I can give it a whirl.

thank you so much for posting the ingredients, my favorite enabler

I think that serums works best in concentrated form, so mixing them would probably dilute them. I hope this makes sense.
You can definitely mix brightening and moisturizing serums - I've done it using different brands, even. However, the main drawbacks are you really need to let one sink in fully before you apply the next and also, in general I don't like using brightening serums during the daytime, as they sometimes can cause some sun sensitivity (depends on the ingredients and your personal tendencies).

Overall, I'm not a fan of brightening serums, having tried many different brands. For a radiant look, most people just need better hydration and a hydrating serum will look beautiful for that, as well as treat your skin properly. Really oily skin is the main skin type that will get a better look from a brightening serum alone, but I'd say that's more niche than most people's skin needs. If you want serious brightening and reduction of age spots, etc., you need to step up to a glycolic exfoliator, or the equivalent. You will get real brightening and lightening results that way, quickly and efficiently. I adore Cane & Austen Retexturizing Treatment Pads - genius product!

Thanks for your comments Liba. I would love to try a good glyco treatment but am really hesitant to do so due to the fact that I have highly reactive skin and rosacea. What level of glyco is in the product you mentioned?

5%, if I recall correctly. I DON'T use them every day, only 3x a week usually, and I ONLY use them at night, when I can immediately deeply moisturize and get a good night's sleep. Anything else would be rough on my skin too. I've also heard about cutting the pads in half to extend their use, and that could definitely work.

Do we have any pricing info for this collection? BTW I saw this the infusion at the Pro Store last week. It was off to the side, I didn't see a display for it. I figured it wasn't out yet. I wish I had asked about the compact.

$40 for the MI, $30 for the compact.

I use Paula's Choice 5% glycolic acid exfoliant and my sensitive skin tolerates it. I get a little red, but no flushing (I definitely have rosacea too). HTH

When I am out of my PC serum, I think I will give MAC's a try, if it isn't OOS.

I ordered the Moisture Infusion and the compact. I meant to buy these in store on Thursday but I couldn't resist adding them to my cart. I really need to buy more at my store. I don't want to get kicked off their mailing list.

I'm wondering if the skin smoother is good for combo/oily (sometimes straight oily) ?

Looking at the ingredients, I would say if you tolerate products like SB Photofinish, it would work. Not sure I see anything really benefiting the skin to refinish it though, I agree with Liba, good exfoliation (and maybe a retinol product) would do more for the oily skin than this. But the proof is of course in the trying.

On the plus side, it looks like a good primer and has some SPF it looks like? Anyone know if its SPF rated???

Got the compact today and can't wait to try it out. As soon as my wallet recovers I am getting that serum. It feels amazing and the SA says it is great for adding extra moisture to your skin -- just what I need now that Summer is around the corner.

I have very large pores on my nose so when I use my Bare Minerals Foundation, the powder tends to get stuck in the pores as the day goes on
ssad.gif
. How does the compact work for filling/hiding pores as a primer before foundation?

I'm a little up in the air about the skin smoother. It doesn't cover up the pores the way Clarins Lisse Minute does (that's pretty much the best thing I've ever tried for hiding and smoothing pores). However, it works really well for plumping up the skin around fine lines, like jowl lines from nose to mouth. It also is good if your skin texture is a bit uneven and it does absolute wonders for touch ups on oily, reddened skin (my MA threw a little on his 43 year old red nose and it looked like he'd just applied foundation and powder - that's how dramatic the effect was for him).

Also, it definitely feels much more nourishing on the skin than Lisse Minute does - as if regular use will result in overall improved skin texture. Time will tell - I haven't bought it yet. I keep trying it out and it doesn't do what I want it to, but it does a bunch of other things I didn't think I wanted, but now that I had them, I like it!

Meanwhile, that hydrating serum is really great. Maybe not 100% as good as my discontinued Rodial serum
001_unsure.gif
, but again, it does some other things that are equally good. It's got cucumber derivatives for soothing and calming the skin, as well as for hydration, as well as caffeine for depuffing (I personally love what caffeinated skin products do for me, since I get "puffy face" at the drop of a hat). It's also got algae extracts that do heavy hydration and detox. We aren't 100% sure, but Estee Lauder owns La Mer and has borrowed some of the patented La Mer algae ingredients for the Studio Moisture products, so we were thinking that the algae in the serum might be using some La Mer ingredients too. If so, it'll be a superb value.

Heck, this serum is already a great value. No other brands at this price point have so recently updated their serum formulas with the latest tech advances. You are definitely getting a mega-high tech product here at a much cheaper price than boutique lines that usually do all the innovation work.

Oooo now you've got me interested in Clarins Lisse Minute (which I think goes by Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch now?). Do you like the Clarins better than Dr. Brandt Pores No More and Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant Perfecter? I am looking into getting one of them, but I am torn since the reviews vary.

As for the Mac compact skin smoother, I still may look into it to cover my redness! Also for oil blotting touch ups. Thanks for all your help liba!

I don't think it will cover much redness. Try the yellow primer or the set powder in Soft Yellow instead.
