Mac Pro Palettes discussion

I really love the look of the new palettes - it makes me want to go on a depotting spree with all my regular packaging blushes and e/s. I could probably get about 4 or 5 l/s with B2M afterwards, which might help to soften the blow of the prices!

It's what, 6 empties for B2M? I could get like 18-20 l/s for depotting - but I still can't justify the price of them right now. It's just too much money.

Yep, 6! I usually wait til I want a LE l/s that's in regular packaging.

I did a Live Chat before and apparently they're available at all MAC locations in the UK including Debenhams! The 10% off starts in store on Tuesday, so I may grab some next weekend if they actually have them in :)

It's 10% off the entire order isn't it though, not 10% off each item, right?

I don't have a MAC counter/store near me. If I do eventually depot would you be willing to take my empties to trade in for l/s as you have so many near you?

Works out the same!
And of course I would :) Depotting is oddly therapeutic - it's nice to create space in my makeup drawers for even more MAC

Thanks! :)

Where do you buy your magnets from to depot? Tis the one thing I don't have. I just dunno where I'd put my MAC palettes. My vanity is stuffed!

I get my magnets from eBay! And I store my palettes in a really pretty letter rack thing from TK Maxx when I'm in my house in Cardiff, or stacked up in a drawer in my desk whilst staying elsewhere :)

Could you PM me the magnets you buy from eBay? I don't like big chunky looking magnets. :(

I may have to do the DVD rack type thing. I suppose I could move crap around in my ALEX unit but tbh I dunno where I'd put the stuff that's currently in it. :/

I still cant bring myself to put my new palettes away, they are out on display.

Major depotting marathon for me this weekend to fill them up with my 3rd eyeshadow palette now on the way

Well that settles it, I have to have the new palettes! I don't blame you for keeping them out, they make your setup look even more gorgeous!

Thankyou! I think they look so pretty because you can see the colours and just adds to the theme
I agree. I love being able to see the colours. I'm tempted to try and put away the £123 it would cost me to depot all my eye shadows if I bought them, but I wouldn't get anything LE for a while if I did. :(

I have depotted everything into my palettes because I reach for them so much that the other stuff gets ignored. If its special packaging tho I dont depot it.

I think all but 10 eye shadows maximum are in regular packaging so it wouldn't help me to not even depot those as I'd still need the 6th palette. I won't depot special packaging though I don't think, but tbh I'm not TOO fussed over the packaging I have. 1 to the beach e/s, 4 surf baby, 4/5 hey sailor and that's it.

I'm actually quite excited about the idea of buying blush in pans :) And also the prospect of expanding my collection of permanent e/s! There are so many fantastic products that I don't pay attention to because of all the LE madness

The majority of my collection is perm. I wish I'd started off with palettes to begin with but I like the pots, however now the collection is just too big for them. I hate that it'd be £123 as I *have* to have the inserts. My OCD couldn't handle it looking disorganised without them.

I'd start out just buying one... but when what do I decide to depot first? Neutrals? Pinks? Purples? Greens? Yellow/Orange? I dunno how I'd choose first.

i'm staying away from pro palettes thank you very much. they look very nice i have to admit, but they'd drive me mental. plus, i hate it when a particularly powdery shadow decides to invade the other shades in the palette (let's face it, at least one such shadow usually makes its way into a palette). then there's the unresolved issue of my emotional attachment to boxes of course...

These are all excellent points. I just wish I had a better way of storing my eye shadows in singles - I'd keep them in pots if I had the room and they were easy to travel with. It's just crap when I want to take colours so I have to plan in advance what I'll use.

We recently had an election, so used all the fridge magnets that ended up in my letter box. They're pretty thin but are magenetic enough for the palettes.

(I use the hair straightner method and melt off the bottom labels, they're still sticky I stick em over the politician's face and then cut around them :D )
