I am going to try my sample out at home tomorrow morning with different brushes. First, one side of my face with the 130, and then the other my super quick 189. I see MAC is pushing the 190 with this, so I'll try that too. Will report back.

Awesome! Yeah, I want to know how the different brushes work for you.
Its true...it really does make the skin look very natural. I'm happy you like it!

Anyway, at the moment I really like my NW20 Prolongwear - I wonder if I should get a NC20 to have around too...

I will indeed. Well, I still love it - Day 2

I am just like you - I don't wear foundation & just do the spot thingy too

But...yep, I am always looking for the best concealer

Wow I am impressed with the concealer. (Mine is a sample of nc20) I was pretty sure that I would sweat it off at the gym. My bf told me my face still looked really nice after and it didn't sink into my pores, so it gets the bf stamp of aproval!

I put it over my usual moisturizer and monistat primer and it stayed really well set with Silk Natural Oil Control Blur. I only had the least bit of shine near my nose, but I was also cutting my hair in the bathroom while my bf was taking a hot shower. I applied with Everyday Minerals Flat top (HG!) a dot on each of my cheek and then on my nose. I didn't use much at all, just a small dab of product off the lid.

Now with the stay power, I think if you don't wash it off completely, some people will break out from it. I think using an oil based cleanser and then your regular cleanser (if you are oily) would be a good idea!

I was using Colorstay as my liquid foundation, but I don't think I will repurchase since I am loving the Prolongwear line so far. I will test out the foundation tomorrow and see how that goes. NC20 concealer is lighter than NC20 foundation, so if I might have to go back and ask for a sample of NC25 concealer before making my purchase.

I am sooo pleased that my bf liked how the concealer looks on me. He doesn't like anything else D: So everyone should def. give it a try!

*edit* i went to check the price on the concealers and realized there is no nc25 concealer LOL poo.

As much as I take care of my skin, it is far from perfect and I would not dare do a complete mu on myself or anyone with this spot cover business -- unless the person was an absolutely perfect adolescent -- life, climate takes its toll on skin, thus we have foundation. My foundations and concealer arrived and I will now save my sample sizes for when I travel.. still loving them after wearing them all day of errands yesterday. This is one of the best foundations I have tried at this price level

my other fav is Cle de Peau Satine.. but that costs $ 118 and I am too cheap to use it for regular running around stuff

I have worn this with my regular YSL matte primer but I wear this primer every day
yes.gif
... my comments on Colorstay: good but a bit heavy as compared to PrL -- the fragrance is a bit cloying and the colour selection sometimes iffy too.. it wears like a cement mask though and good for those who like heavy coverage... it is one of Revlon's top sellers and I love that MAC is now committed to giving other brands a run for their money
th_DANCE.gif

As far as for cleansing post foundation -- I always use/recc an oil to remove all traces of product because it is amazing how much crap gets on your face during the course of any day or night.. I use Shiseido oils, or Dermalogica to remove all traces of foundation, then exfoliate with any of several items, then wash with a lactic acid or salicylic acid cleanser and my pores are in excellent shape

HG,

WOW! What a routine. Do you exfoliate every evening? And if I may ask, which cleansers do you use?

Thanks!

Sooo, I'm about to head up to the mall in a few and something crossed my mind. Before I went on a mad search to find a decent foundation that didn't break me out, I had Mac's select tint. I cried when it was discontinued. I decided to google it awhile ago and realized it had spf 15. So, I'm thinking that this new foundation may not break me out after all since select tint didn't. Maybe spf 15 is as high as I can go without skin irritation. Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer tore me up about a month ago.

I am barefaced right now and I plan on pulling an mua to the side and being a pain in the ass. Seriously. The couple of times I've decided to give Mac foundations a go, they always screw up. They give me a ridiculous shade, sheer it out, fix+ it up and make it look good until I get home and then...
shockt.gif
. They better get it right! Someone pray for me or the mua that I pull aside.

^^ Shontay I would def give it a try if the SPF is your only concern. LM has chemical sunscreens, this has only a physical sunblock (titanium dioxide) - big difference for many people including myself in terms of sensitivity/reactions.

shontay.. I was NEVER a fan of MAC's foundations.. SF looked like a floury mask on me, SSc was never the right colour, SF powder -- was another flour face and on and on.. plus all of them oxidized horribly.

this is one foundation which is worth a try -- I wear Shiseido Face Sunblock spf 55 on my face and neck and on top have been using this (on top of the sunblock I also use my YSL Matte primer always).. so, although it seems like a lot going on, and it might be but it works for me. I have found that the trick to sunblocks and primers since most have silicones is to really get them off at night.. and that has worked well for me.

Good luck in your search!

Yes I exfolitate every evening-- either manually with a buffer, a brush or old towel.. I use MAC refining granules, Dermalogica Daily microfoliant, or Origins Friction... what I usually do is get a cotton pad and remove the mu with the oils (Shiseido, Olive oil, Dermalogica pre cleanse -- I have several so I just grab one), and when the pad looks cleaner or clean, I use the granules/scrub over the oil without rinsing and then use my cleanser -- Mario Badescu Salycilic acid cleanser, Dermalogica lactic acid cleanser.. or any of the others I have. And then I moisturize with my eye creams, night creams and oils too.

In the a.m. I do the same but with gentler products and don't use the oils... I just use a cleanser or the Philosophy cleanser with mild scrubbing agent if I look a bit oily.

I know it sounds like a lot -- and it might be to many... but for me, a poreless complexion is as important as the foundation or finish I may give my face.

Thanks a lot ladies.

HerGreyness, I've also tried the face and body foundation but it seemed like a big gloppy, greasy mess. I remember being happy with the Studio Fix powder, but it broke me out. Also, I wasn't as good with make up as I am now, so maybe my perception was off. I was so pissed about it, I erased all pictures of me wearing it so I can't even look back and see how good it looked! I do remember being surprised that a powder foundation wasn't a hot mess on my dry skin.

I have never had a facial done by others although I am surrounded by professional who do a great job -- but I prefer to do it myself by keeping my skin clean and moisturized every single day

oh my, I left that one out

of my long list.. but quite honestly, until I ran into this ProL, I had bad luck with MAC's foundations.. or maybe my standards for what I wanted my skin to look like were different..

.. I know what you mean about the SFP.. eeek. I was like the mouse that fell into the flour bucket.. I don't break out much since I started to really take care of my skin and use the right products as well as foundations

My eczema, I think, is a big reason why I have a problem with so many products. I never really know. It's a crap shoot. That's why I'm so happy mufe came out with their HD foundation. It's truly a miracle product for me, but of course, that hasn't stopped me from wanting to play with others

I hope this works out for you.. I have MUFE HD also, but I like that the ProL is not as watery and gives me a bit better coverage without too much layering and working it... I generally don't have too much time in the a.m. to futz around with anthing

I do the same thing but with Chanel products. I remove all traces of makeup until the pad is clean & then I wash/exfoliate

Well, I don't have 'flawless' skin but I just hate the feel of foundation on my skin

So, I got a sample of NW20 in the foundation - no no no go for me as it was too orangey dark. The NC15 is beautiful!

And, I got Unlimited & Perpetual Flame

yesterday. Love the colors, but wow they are very pigmented. I wish there was a better looking pink nude color

I bet your skin looks amazing! I need to take better care of mine.... I just feel like I don't have the time or I forget. Seriously- I'm lucky if I remember to wash my face at night. And that's usually to take my makeup off. Eek!
