Argh! I placed my order on the Mac site on Monday evening, paid for second day shipping and it isn't here! Which would be fine except they haven't even sent me any email updates telling me that it's at least shipped. *sigh* Maybe I'm just being impatient.

yep, I didn't get any ship email when I ordered my Prolongwear items online either.
Did you select 2nd day shipping? You will get it today.

Yup, I selected and paid for second day shipping. I just went on the my MAC account on their website and it's showing a tracking number, but on the usps website this is what it says:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on September 23, 2010 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

I have a feeling I'm not going to get it today, which is kind of obnoxious. I should've just got regular shipping I s'pose.

I bought the foundation in my color NC20. I know a lot of people have been having to go lighter or darker, but for some reason all mac foundation/powders I've managed to stay NC20.

I applied mine with Prep and Prime foundation primer and applied it with a 130 brush. That might have helped it match me better. Haven't tried applying it with my hands or a regular foundation brush yet.

I bought Perpetual Flame, and Love forever! Longwear lip creme lipsticks.

I would say "Perpetual flame" reminds me of Nars Funny Face lipstick. It might be a little more red/darker but it is pretty close.

I broke down and got Goes and Goes. I am not thrilled with it. I adore purple, I have many purple lipsticks but I am not happy with this one. I kept looking at it, trying to figure out why, then I glanced down at my purple handled scissors and I realized what it was... my lips looked plasticky. I don't know if the other shades have this same issue, but my lips look like dull purple plastic when I wear this. I think if I use this as a base for other purples it may help, since I don't like gloss because my hair gets stuck in anything sticky on my face.

I am still trying it out on it's own for staying power, I will try it later with something else over it to make it look better. Maybe I can use it as a purple base?

You can always try to add dimension with lip liner

Even with a darker/lighter purple. Playing around with shading.

mac pro longwear foundation

Just wondering if anyone here has tried this, and if it's thick like studio fix, because most foundations that are longwear are thick in consistency, thanx!

Re: mac pro longwear foundation

I haven't personally worn it yet, I did put some on my hand in store and blended it in... it felt very light and not thick or cakey at all. It's gotten great reviews so far (Temptalia, etc.)

I'd go by the counter early in the morning and ask for a sample or have them apply it, then wear it all day and see how you like it.

No, it is not thick at all. Very nice natural look & very light-weight.

Check out the Prolongwear thread for many many reviews of it!

OK, after wearing the concealer + foundation every single day since I got them(almost a week ago) here are my thoughts:
I think that everybody needs them both. Seriously.

They are the best face products I've used in my life and like many people here on Specktra I've tried a lot of products from a lot of brands. Nothing comes even close to them. I can't believe I'm saying it but they are as close to perfect as any product can be

First of all, I don't wear foundation in a daily basis. My skin is quite dry so in order to make foundation look flawless, I need to wear a primer, apply the fndt evenly, blend, top with finishing powder and some Fix+, which makes the whole application very time consuming. After discovering this one, my face routine has completely changed. I just apply my moisturizer and then put it on with my #187. It applies very evenly, no more emphasizing dry patches, looking cakey or anything else. Just smooth and lovely coverage!
Then I dab some concealer where it's needed and that's it! My face stays like that for the whole day-PERFECT! I never expected to find a product that works like that, to me it's simply MAGIC!
I'm sorry for the long rambling post but I just had to let everyone know. If you are thinking of getting either (or both) products, I strongly encourage you to at least try them out. You won't be disappointed!

I've got combination skin and wore this foundation for two days. Then my skin was so dry it patches that I nearly could peel flakes of it off. NOT GOOD!
I'm completely disappointed - I really liked the feel and the look of it.

And now the real bummer - when I wanted to return it, the MA didn't want to take it back because I used it.

For those who have tried and love this concealer, have you previously tried Eve Pearls salmon concealer?
If so, how would you compare the two in wear, coverage, etc? (I'm looking at under eye puffiness and dark circles

TIA!!!

Did the foundation or concealer break anyone else out? I tried out both in store yesterday and now I'm broken out along my chin. That is the place where I dabbed the concealer so I hope that it's only the concealer product that caused it, because I didn't end up getting that one, only the foundation. However my chin is most prone to break outs, so it could have been either one, really.

I do love the foundation so far. I had it on for about 9 hours yesterday and held up a lot better than the studio fix fluid would have given that time frame. It did not go on the least bit shiny. It actually covers quite well too, I was pleasantly surprised by that. I ended up a bit shiny by the end of the day, but again, had I been wearing sff I would have been melting by then.

I'm going to keep wearing the foundation and see if the breakouts continue or not. I really hope they don't because I do really love it!

So I switched out my PLW concealer from NW25 to NC30, which is a better match for me. I'm going to wear that one out today and give you guys updates if I see any orange tinge-s and what not.

When I went to return my concealer they took it without hesitation. I thought all MACs did

I had an appointment today at my MAC counter to try out the new prolongwear line after work. The MUA used the foundation, concealer and lipcreme on me.

She sprayed my face with FIX+, put on a little bit of studio moisture fix and then the foundation in NC20. I don't ever wear foundation, usually just a little bit of concealer or nothing at all, so normally any foundation feels really heavy to me... but this feels very light, smooth and natural! It just evens my skintone out nicely but without feeling cakey or thick. The concealer is also great, it really did the trick covering up my dark circles and a few blemishes. She applied the make-up a little over six hours ago and since then I've walked around outside in the sun, gone for dinner, gone to a movie, and it still looks freshly applied. No oily spots or fading or oxidization. So it definitely is long-wearing and doesn't transfer!

The lipcremes are also great, although they definitely do transfer. They aren't overly drying and the pigmentation is great, they go on very smoothly. She used the combo of Beet lip pencil and Perpetual Flame lipcreme on me but sadly it did not survive my coffee or dinner. I don't mind that though, I'm used to reapplying lip products because I drink a lot of coffee/water. I do like that it fades to a nice natural, rosy stain without settling into lines though.

I picked up the concealer, a sample of foundation just to make sure it was the right color, as well as Prolong and Perpetual Flame lipcremes. I wanted one of the other lipcremes but they were sold out so I'll be going back for it. My friend took pictures and when he sends them to me, I'll post them if anyone's curious.

I love how I don't have to stress about application with this foundation. Usually I have to go the extra mile to prep my face because foundation always cakes up on or around my nose. Not this one, though. Very satisfied with this. People have been commenting on my skin and how pretty it is.
