As you can see, id say no Moxie.
3,4, 6,7,8 are possibilities in my book. 1 looks like it would be just like Fleshpot or Siss with retromatte finish. 2 looks too light, but maybe it would be similar to St Germain with RM finish? #8 could be like Firm Form? #5 is interesting, but I think too orange for me to pull off. Then again with these monitor swatches, they may look nothing like that!

all the retro mattes this year, which I love tyvm, are exciting but I am also missing the mattenes. I don't want to follow all the collections {sooooo many} so if anybody has noticed a mattene please lmk. I am looking for rapturous in particular and am hoping it gets repromoted. Isn't there usually a collection out towards end of year that has a couple thrown in for us fans?

ack I feel like an ingrate. I love the matte formulas. Period.
I miss the mattenes as well. I own Rapturous and I came across it a few days ago when I was taking inventory of my lipglosses (what it was doing with my l/g, I've no idea). I haven't worn in it ages and need to give it some love.

is anyone else disappointed that these retro matte lippies are the TYPICAL shades - some i could find in the drugstore even! i want MAC to make another ICONIC lipstick. An original. Like Candy Yum Yum, Party Parrot, Heroine, or even a really good unique nude shade! I don't care! This retro matte formula is amazing, and they could do a TON with it. I really would love to see MAC step outside of the box, and they've only done that once or twice. Any thoughts?

Of the shades you mentioned, I only find Candy Yum Yum to be close to original. Maybe, just maybe Heroine. The thing is, in this day and age it's pretty hard to come up with an "original" shade that will actually sell. I think they seem to have a nice range of colors here, even though it could still be expanded by a couple of shades. Perhaps they'll do that in the future if this launch is a success. The only reason I'm considering a shade or two from this launch is because of the finish. When you've been hoarding makeup for more than say, a year or two, things get redundant. I think that's the case whether you buy from the drugstore or department store. Every company is trying to find the new thing and piggybacking off of each other and trying not to fall flat on their face in the process.
