Since I'm near the border, I hear about this kind of stuff all the time, and would boycott just for that reason. I'm half Chilean, and though they're not related, I do have family in Mexico... this whole thing just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. And at first, I have to say I was planning to buy, but I think that was before I really thought about it. Sometimes, I find myself getting caught in the MAC whirlwind and I don't really think about why I want something versus why I don't.

I was still planning to buy a couple things, namely White Gold pigment and Quinceanera (sp) blush, but if the collection is canceled, I would still live. WG is available PRO isn't it?

Well anyways it's kinda a shame that it had to come to this but I do agree that it would be better to just cancel it; the association with this collection is "tainted" now; I just can't look at the stuff w/o thinking of the drama.

Despite all the controversy, OMG, colors are to die for, especially for super palies like myself. (NW 5/10 hehe.) Can't wait to sample.

I like the colors for my skin tone, too, but they all seem like they could be easily duped at the same time.

Im glad they still decided to launch. The products in this collection are gorgeous!

(although I was really looking forward to having a lipstick called 'Ghost Town' I thought that was a cute name for it.)

I'm confused as to why they changed ALL the names... Bad associations? Even the lipglass called Rodarte now has a new moniker. Anyway, I like some of the new ones, but I really liked Ghost Town and Sleepwalker.

Ultimately, though, I just want the damn products to come out, because the more I look at this collection, the more that I want.

I dont understand why would they go to all the trouble of changing names and annoucing the changes not to launch at all. I think that maybe that this collection will be like Alice&Olivia and only be at Freestanding stores and online?

What the heck is up with this collection? I am about ready to skip the whole thing for all the drama. I mean I loved the original collection including the names. I don't think Desert Rose is nearly as cute a name as Quinceanera.

The compromise has gone so far as to really disgust me and lose my interest. And now I hear that some of the department stores are backing out? Really?

I thought fashion was supposed to be edgy and MAC was supposed to be a little edgy too. I'd rather have insensitive than mamby-pamby political correctness. Sorry, I am not interested in the new names, and think this one will be a skip. I was really kind of looking forward to the white lippy, the blush and the BP's but honestly cannot see getting them anymore.

I guess in theory it is just makeup but for me a rose by any other name just isn't as sweet...

I think at this point they SHOULD launch it if they decided to donate--unfortunate names aside, the profits could potentially do some good. Most people were offended by the names well I'm a little put off by the "let's donate all the proceeds--oh wait let's not do anything" change.

As far as potentially missing out on the products--I really don't care anymore. I wasn't thrilled with anything in this collection after I saw the newest nailpolish pics. Blah.

I don't really like this collection besides maybe the red-black MES which I won't be getting anyway, but them backing out after agreeing to donate looks a little weird... kind of bad actually.... Just IMO.
