MAC Temperature Rising Collection (May 2013)

When I first started out I thought I was not at all good at putting on eyeshadows too. They always came off not looking pigmented on my lids and I'd hurt my eyelids trying to layer on the product a hundred times with cheaper brushes (I was a brokeass grad student). Blending was horrible, it would come out over-blended and looking like one muddy mixed color spot. The product doesn't stay where I wanted it to go and would migrate over to the far outer corner in a big mess. I so envy those youtube gurus that could place the eyeshadows where they wanted it and have it stay there!

But I realized that after investing on some good MAC brushes like the 239 and 286 (I prefer this over 217) etc, it was the tools that made the difference. My makeup application got significantly easier, more precise and hurts less! Good makeup should be used with the best tools. Do you use MAC brushes? It might make a world of difference.

PS Your eye shape is beautiful, you just have to find what works for it! (EDT: I just saw Erine's suggestion)
Hey! The only MAC brushes I have is 266 for my fluidline and 187 which I don't even really reach for. I heard 217, 239, 219 and 109 are must haves? not sure lol. I was looking at sigma brushes too, but can't pull the trigger with all the LE going on!

266 is a good brush. Yeah it tends to feel like that when you first get into the LE game. You feel like you have to get everything or at least one of each products. LOL. I stopped being like that after looking at my collection and seeing a ton of stuff I end up not using or even opening (sun tints from Hey Sailor for example they've started to smell funny

). I'm more selective now with LEs and I don't feel like I have to get everything and I tend to get more permanents because I find that those are the ones I actually hit pan on/use up/reach for everyday. 239 is. a. must!

I love, love, love my 239 and 217 so much, I have three of each. I have to admit that every single time my hand makes contact with these brushes, my first thought is : "Oh, I love you. You're just wonderful!" There is nothing like a hot date with my brushes. We make such a happy couple! :eyelove:

Off topic, but I just got the NARS powder...wow! Its awesome! Does it work well on bare skin too? Think I might only be getting 3 things from this, I'm shocked! Thought this would be a crazy haul.
It works great on bare skin! I love it! I wear it with just concealer during the week (I'm a dance teacher, so foundation just feels gross when I'm working)

A CP wouldn't be out of the question, would it?

I thought they were also sold in Boots, but I could be wrong. I don't remember seeing them at Boots in the UK or Dubai, but again since I already have them, I didn't go looking for them.

Yeah, Boots and Superdrug. Superdrug has them at buy one get one 50% off now too, but my local one had sold out of everything but the travel sets :(
No Superdrug or Boots here. Booo.

I order my RT brushes from Feelunique or HQHair when they have the odd 10% (or thereabouts) off sale. Neither have the Duo Fibre brush set though. Do you remember seeing it at Boots or Superdrug?

As another paleface, although not as light as you are, i vote for the Guerlain.

I got the Guerlain Terracotta 4 Seasons Tailor-Made Bronzing Powder in Blonde on eBay. It was expensive but i paid only about 2/3 of the original list price, and i am convinced i got the real thing, because the quality is astonishing - both of the packaging and the product. I don't normally wear bronzer, although i own a few that i don't use - got them a few years ago when bronzer was new to me - before i realized i am not a fan of bronzer in general.

Terracotta 4 Seasons has FOUR colors in one pan, which is divided into quadrants, and the cake is HUGE. This way you can easily use one color or blend however many you like. They are all matte, which is so much more useable than shimmery/glittery ones (and i LIKE glitter - see my sig). So it works for contouring as well as bronzing, which many bronzers don't.

And, as i said, it's huge. I know mine will last me a lifetime - i'm over 60 so i probably only have a little over 30 years to go :)
The 4 Seasons one is the one I want too, but in Nude. I think that would suit me best, since it has a pink section in it. I decided to get a BU of Soft Sand for now, but I still want the Guerlain one, I will keep my eyes open for a good deal.
