What do i know? I think this is the
loveliest collection since the whole Glamour Daze - Holiday Fabulousness - Guilty Passions Holiday collection last year. I got everything on my list. And - gulp - i'm thinking of going back for more...
Caliente "Super dazzle violet" (Dazzle)
O! M! G!
Caliente is absolutely exquisite! It's even more beautiful on my lips than it was in my ‘Neutral 18’ inner arm swatch! (yeah, neutral 18 isn't in the MAC line, but if it was...) On me it's nothing like
Oh! Oh! Oh!.
Caliente isn't violet, but it is a lovely sheer plum with gorgeous pink-plum-purple glitter - i think i even saw hints of teal.
Oh! Oh! Oh! is browner, oranger, much warmer, even thought the base appears to be sheer plum, and while packed with coppery shimmer, it doesn't have the dazzling glitter of these Super Dazzle lipsticks. I'm in love! I think i should get a back up of
Caliente! (and retire all these exclamation points!)
Sheer Seduction "Super dazzle bronze" (Dazzle)
This is lovely, but it isn't knocking my socks off the way
Caliente does, since i'm not a fan of orange-y lipsticks. On me it's muted orangey copper, rather than bronze, which would be browner. I'd prefer browner, but i like copper, so it's OK. Plus, the Dazzle adds charming pink and plum glitter, so it's worming its way into my heart. I'm very glad to have another Dazzle lipstick. And if you like orange-y colors and shimmer/glitter, you'll love this.
Altered Beige (Lustre)
While MAC describes it as "Creamy yellow beige", it is actually a creamy
neutral pink beige. Most nudes pull too orange on me - i have a baggie full of 'em that i can't wear. On pale me
Altered Beige is a terrific nude. It neutralizes my rather strongly colored lips, but still delivers a hint of color, so my lips are not the same color as my skin. To wear it well, i need to tone down my rosacea, otherwise my chin is a brighter pink than my lips

It goes on smooth and creamy and i don't find it at all drying. I am so happy that i've finally found another nude i can wear, besides my other love,
Tropical Mist.
Underdressed "Bronze plum with multidimensional pearls"
This is almost like a gloss version of
Sheer Seduction. While not fully opaque, it does provide strong color and massive shimmer, and definitely can be worn alone. It isn't what i'd call bronze - which is browner - however, it is pinker than
Sheer Seduction - having a plummy base - while jammed full of muted copper dazzle. On me, this is much better than
Restless - which MAC described as "dark burnt bronze", but on me is red-orange, not a good color. Over
Sheer Seduction it amps up the glam glitter and shimmer even further. I haven't tried it over
Caliente yet. I think it would also work well over
Oh! Oh! Oh! if anyone wants to give it more shimmer and flash.
Soft Serenade "Mid-tone neutral pink with pearl"
I didn't get this, but now i'm thinking of going back for it... Ouch!
Temperature Rising Eye Shadow Quad
Performance Art, Swelter, Temperature Rising all work well. They are similar in terms of how light or dark they are, but all are quite different colors - one is warm, one cool, one in-between, and all play nicely together. As for the 4th, very dark e/s,
Beauty Marked has very distinct red pearl in the pan, kinda like
Raven eye kohl, so i thought maybe i might like it. But the red pearl doesn't translate much onto the eye; definitely not if swiped on, so i patted it on and still didn't get noticeable red shimmer. I used it in my crease and V today, but it just looks off-black. The other colors work nicely and i know i will have fun playing with them. This is only my 2nd MAC Quad, the other is
Cutie from the Quite Cute collection - i have skipper's remorse for not getting
Call Me Bubbles.
Rich Glance Powerchrome Pencil "Light gold"
Oooooh, this just glides on soooo smoothly, is workable, and then sets up, so that after a few minutes, it wouldn't smudge or budge with my finger or crease after hours of wear. Then it comes off easily with a wet wipe, no need to get out the big guns to scrub it off, as with some smudgeproof creams i've tried. I'm thinking of maybe going back for
Copper Strip...
Soft Sand Bronzing Powder "Golden bronze with fine gold pearl"
This is noted as not having great color payoff, but i don't wear bronzer - i just wanted the compact. So i bought this because it's $5 cheaper than the better Pro Longwear Bronzers, and lighter in color. I'm actually wearing it today as a blush, with
Perfect Topping as a highlight. Now i need to get that pan out of the compact and slip something a little more comfortable, errr, wearable into it.
Golden Elixir Strobe Liquid
As i've said, i'm not really into bronzer, i work hard to NOT tan, and i don't fake-bake. But i couldn't resist this shiny golden bronze liquid. Today i even dabbed a little along the tops of my cheek bones. I know i will find other ways to play with it. This should be great on anyone who has olive or darker skin.
