MAC's description-Lusciously soft, pressed compact powder provides sheer-low coverage with a matte, yet luminous finish.
I believe some have compared it to the blot powder but way better.

I have the compact from way back when MW was released - the compact is gorgeous and quite heavy, but fingerprint city. The powder is very nice - nothing special, but nice. Not powdery at all. I sometimes use it as a setting powder.

Very finely milled, I would compare to the Beauty Powders, like Forever Marilyn or the Maleficient one, but even finer milled than that. Not as white/ashy as the so called Prep and Prime finish powder. I don't have the blot powder to compare but it is different from MSFN for certain, much less matte. It is NOT luminous to my eye, more "invisible." So even though the Light Plus looks much too dark if I compare it to another setting powder, it doesn't appear to dark on my skin tone (I am about a NW15 or so right now). It does not absorb oil very well as I remember and isn't matte but for a not there powder that covers a little, it is great. I have the Light Plus from the first MW release. I don't know that it is worth the price tag, but the little alien pod container can be recycled and you can get refills I think.

It doesn't say so I'm not sure on that. But if they did decide to exclude that it would make sense that they'd drop the price.
