MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus (Jan 22, 2015)

How about a Viva Glam VII with Laverne Cox and her Orange Is the New Black co-stars? Maybe in a muted coral shade? Or some other colour that hasn't received the VG treatment?

I'm sure they had Miley on the list for a while but considering the intention between MAC (all ages, all sexes) and the initial Viva Glam being a drag queen I'm kinda surprised MAC didn't jump on Laverne. It'd have been so brilliant and it would reinvigorate the Viva Glam brand a little. I know its an amazing cause but like someone else said it feels like it goes downhill a little more each time, someone mentioned Ariana Grande being a possibility and I wasn't even shocked. She very well could be, or hey Iggy Azalea to really make me gag.

I think the color will need to be really great like Pleasurebomb-beautiful so it can counter the fact that it is Miley. I would really love to see Gwen Stefani do something with MAC (has she ever?).

Well I'm clearly one of the only people actually excited but oh well. I am! I am not a huge pink fan either but I like Miley and I like the cause so I'm gonna get it.
There are lots of valid critiques of miley but a lot of people's criticism stems from slut shaming and her being too "wild" for people's tastes. I don't think those are valid criticisms. But hey if it saves you money....

That said I do hope Laverne Cox gets picked next. She would be perfect! I would be truly surprised if they haven't approached her already. She's the natural choice. Maybe she just doesn't want to.

I am excited too! Both the lipstick and gloss look gorgeous and unless swatches are extremely disappointing.. I will be picking up both.

I thought she was from Texas or somewhere south too. Remember when she had the fake country accent? When I found out she was from Reading I was like GIRL! :huh: That's an industrial city. And she always told the story about how she grew up on a Christmas tree farm (which is true) but it seemed like she was poor. Both of her parents were successful and wealthy. She has this fakeness about her and it really puts people off. Learn something new everyday.  Taylor Swift gives me Regina George but I truly do not like Wendy Williams. I cannot watch her. Idk anything about this whole ambassador thing but I get why people are not with it. And people from NY are so about their city so I know they were truly pissed. That's annoying. :haha:

i actually don't dislike miley. i saw her in concert- amazingly talented singer. her choices are bizarre, but absolutely all made to make fun of herself.
i think she is an okay choice for vg because she does care a lot about people (and animals!)

i really don't like rihanna, though, so anyone is fine to me after her... :x

I'm not too upset that Miley was chosen I will still support Viva glam either way because it goes towards a good cause and that matters more to me than anything else. Yes she is very out there and her antics are a bit much at times but I mean Rihanna isn't no angel either and everyone supported the heck out of her. The lip glass looks very pretty and I'm excited to see what the lipstick looks like swatched.
