MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

I'm reading all of these reports of breakouts and ooginess, and nodding. It turns out to be just another MAC foundation after all - weird colours, relatively crappy formula and all.

I think if you don't have to deal with the break outs and have normal/dryish skin this will work best. It look fantastic on my cheecks but stops there. At least SFF look better on my nose/chin/forehead than this.

I'm still longing to try out MUFE HD but I' not sure if it's sold here at all and I'm pretty sure the price will be even higher than my current best choice Dior Forever.

Ok. I'm officially on Team No for this. And it hasn't even been launched here yet.

Yes, definitely! You have to try it with the 180 brush. I tried the 109, 190, 187, but nothing beats my 180, NOTHING!
Let me know how you liked it!

I noticed that I broke out also, but only on my cheeks (under the cheekbone) -- and I was thinking that it could either be from this or from my Sculpt & Shape powder (as the breakout is right where I use the shadow color) but I also noticed that when I used a primer, I didn't break out...but the couple days going primer-free (to see how it looked, if it changed the foundation), I did breakout. So I'm going to hope that by wearing a primer it keeps the foundation from seeping into my pores...am I on the right track?

I am really more of a "reader" here then a poster, but I thought I would throw my opinion in the ring for this foundation. I am guessing that a most of you that are using this product are a lot younger then me, I have the more "mature" skin, (just turned 45 last week). Before the foundation came out, I read somewhere that it was good for that dreaded old mature skin. I still breakout, have hormonal erruptions, dry cheeks, the whole nine yards. I'd call my skin "combination". I am a NC20-25, blonde with blue eyes. I've used the foundation everyday, with the concealer, for a solid week. I moisturize first, then prep & prime. I think it's the best foundation I have ever used, and I have been searching for that HG for about 20 years or so! No breakouts, flawless appearence and most of all, compliments from my esthetician/nurse daughter, (you know how much that means).
I have never been able to wear a MAC foundation before, without some sort of negative reaction. So this a first. Now if MAC could just make a good mascara, I'd be 100% MAC, and my daughter's PRO card could take of all my
needs!

I agree with you - this looked really good on my cheeks but on my T-zone, especially my chin, it just didn't work.

Let's face it, there is no one foundation that will work for everyone. If this breaks you out, isn't a good match, etc. Try another formula or brand.

I've worn Smashbox's Primer Light with this everytime and I'm not having a problem with breakouts. I don't know if that means I'm just lucky or if it really is the primer though...

How does the smell of this compare to Studio Fix Fluid? I read somewhere that it is worse smelling, and my SFF already smells pretty icky! I wore my SFF last weekend for the first time, and my bf kept complaining about how badly my face smelled... didn't stop him from kissing me though

If you daughter does use her card for your purchases; I'd keep it on the downlow

since it's for the "cardholders personal and professional use only", and she could lose her right to a card for violating the terms.

So after a week of not wearing make up because I was in my apartment studying for midterms and didn't really need to go outside, my acne was clearing up. All this time, I thought it was hormonal and not really induced that much by cosmetics.

Today was the day I left my apt and went out and wore Studio Sculpt Foundation and Concealer. Bad idea....I broke out REALLY BAD. Lots of cystic acne came back and clogged pores. Like I can see the pores on my nose being filled with white specks. How gross does that sound?! Guess it has to go back to the MAC counter

My search for the HG continues.

I don't know whats in this formula but all I have been wearing is this foundation with the concealer and my skin has never been so smooth AND hydrated all at the same time. lol

Can we say WTF? lol

I mean I am not complaining and knock on wood nothing goes wrong but I am so amazed that a MAC foundation is actually working.

I got two huge zits starting today on my chin. I am not sure if it is the foundation, my "visitor", or that I have been sick. I am going to stick it out with this foundation as I love the way that it looks. I just really hope that the zits are not from this foundation. I would be crushed as it has been so wonderful so far.

Katie, get well soon!

Why is it that MAC foundations have a high tendency to break people out? i find this puzzling.

^I would not eat choco that smelled like SS, it may have a distant smell of toffee, but it deffo is not a food smell, it's more like the glue smell of SFF but just worse IMO. But for me the smell of SFF does not linger but the smell of SC does.

I first thought this too that it could be hormonal breakouts from my "visitor" so I waited a while till my skin got better and it was over. But the next times I tried it I broke out too. Mostly on my chin too and the zits did hurt pretty badly.

Today I returned the foundation.

I am wearing SFF right now and my skin isn't shiny after almost 5 hours and feels great.
