I enjoy Erin and the other ladies who dig up and post info just like the rest of u girls and i've said plenty of times that it was greatly appreciated.  This has nothing to do with them being mad because they have every right to be. Just doesn't have to go on for pages lol.  Its hard to just "pass on by" because i like to read everything on the pages so in order to pass it i need to read it first because i won't know if I'm passing something that has nothing to do with the discussion i want to pass in the first place. so its easier said then done lol  I will always side with specktra on the whole pic stealing/crediting situation but at this point its really inevitable so it just sucks the fun out of reading now for me.   Don't take what i say the wrong way ladies because at the end of the day i love you all.  :grouphug:

My entire YouTube videos have been stolen and re-uploaded onto other channels who presented them as their own. Not even kidding. So I know how this kind of thievery feels...

There is really not any good way to avoid thievery on the internet. The most you can do is minimize it as much as possible and/or at least make yourself famous enough that people will value knowing it comes from you and supporting you. We live in an era where a lot of people, especially younger people who are too young to remember the era before the internet, assume everything is basically free and shareable if it's online.

Dunno any good way around it except for damage control or total silence.

I know I post what I do expecting it to go out there and be out there outside of my control, so I only do as much as I feel comfortable with, so that's why I only write my opinions and sometimes even leave them to myself entirely until it seems like there's already other stuff out there besides what I'm saying.

All that said, thanks to all who do post info here - it keeps things lively. Also thanks to all the people who post info elsewhere and don't have a problem with it being linked here at Specktra.

I agree that this problem is inevitable, especially if someone is taking things after being warned. I haven't been tracking this thread, so I'm not sure what's going on (but if the past is any guide, I think I can guess). If the person keeps it up, IG has a form that can be completed.

There's a huge demand for this info. Even if one source decided they were done, something would happen to fill the vacuum eventually. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if MAC stepped in and leaked stuff directly, because let's face it, this place is verrrrry good for their business.

It's unfortunate that there has to be stress here from any direction, but then again, I'm a hippy, dippy type and like my unicorns and rainbows very much, thank you.

@erine1881 I was talking to my techie DH tonight about our thievery problem and he said you could upload your pics to Googles Picasa and set them to private and if you want to share them you can private message out a link to them. It's an idea. I reported the ones I saw on IG. It sucks they keep targeting you. I can see how that would make you not want to share anymore. You have to protect your sources. Trolls freaking suck!

Unfortunate about all the drama, and that's not aimed at anyone specifically. It's unfortunate in general. I can imagine how it would be incredibly frustrating to have people take things wrongly and not be able to just reach in the computer screen, snatch your images back, and give the person a slap for good measure. This might sound weird but for someone who still considers themselves a newbie it's kinda nice to see drama happening among people who have been here for a very long time. It can be an outsider looking in feeling sometimes (no one's fault) and you wonder if you're the only one noticing certain things, so when it's people here longer you feel like, "Okay so this is a thing." No advice to anyone in particular, just my past experience with forums. Sometimes it is a good thing to log off for a while (and I don't mean a day) and not as a form of threat . Repetitiveness is real and it DOES get annoying, that's normal. It's the net version of, "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" I feel like people feel like they HAVE to come here all the time and yes I get feeling like you have to read ALL THE THINGS, but sometimes skimming is healthy. You wouldn't want to hear every single word even your SO said every single day, so imagine the miscommunication and frustration of that online. Back to Simpsons! I have to say I'm kinda not feeling the packaging, I just don't know...I thought I'd be team 'Buy All The Things!' But the packaging ....the imprint on the blushes is kinda turning me off BUT the lip gloss colors do look gorgeous. Definitely the yellow, but hey maybe with more swatches other colors will look awesome. All in all I'm a little meh so far, I do hope the pigmentation makes up for this feeling.

Erine, thank you for being the 100% most reliable source on the web for MAC info, more so than any beauty blogger or instagrammer. Unlike the latter, you have nothing to gain-- neither clicks, commission, page views, or followers. When it is 2 f*cking AM and a new member asks, "Can (insert product) work on my (insert skin tone)?" you are there. When the forums and threads are all dead because we spent all our money on the Osbournes, you bring Specktra back to life on a Friday night. You don't HAVE to do these things. Yet you do so graciously and often without thanks. So if you are pissed off that people are stealing info and not crediting you, you have every right to say so HERE. You are a valued member of your community. And if anyone wants to take issue with Erine's trademark snark, I ask you to post the same questions and "MAC, we need the color story PLEASE" prayers to your instagram merchants and your ebayers that mark stuff up 200%. I am sure they wouldn't extend you any courtesy. Erine, please don't let a few people's comments turn you off. I noticed that one of them is someone who was "caught" selling LE stuff at high markup last year... So maybe your "stop stealing my pics" comment hit too close to home!

I really think we should just keep doing what were doing. If the info stops they will have won! Don't give them the satisfaction that they made us change. Erin you are so fucking fabulous dont you change and stop what youre doing for anyone.

I agree I have a very sarcastic sense of humor in person and when I become upset it shows even more. But that what makes me so awesome lol JK. I try my best to be pleasant to everyone on here but I do have a very low tolerance for Drama Queens or Diva's. Usually if there is a discussion or topic I don't like I just keep on scrolling. Sometimes its hard for me to bite my tongue but for the most part I feel I do a pretty good job of it. I like the way the forum is and I just feel like nothing needs to change about the way things are. Yes it would be nice if everyone can get along but I refuse to continue to bite my tongue when the Forum turns to BS I'm sorry but I will call people on it when I see it. Big problem! I'm glad most people here understand that my snark is mostly play. I've been here longer than most people, and a lot of stuff gets repetitive and annoying, and it's a way to break people in and make em learn how things work. And if they understand that, well, than that's their problem. Not mine.
