I've missed a lot of posts today that I'll need to dig back through but I know the issues you've had with stolen pictures, Erine. The above post is the damn truth. You're a gracious member of this community and you always seem to be answering all the questions you can (on top of all the information you already bring to the forums). I haven't even been posting here that long and I can recognize the amount of effort and fun you put in every post. I understand the battle with thieves but you've been hilariously on point with every response to it I have seen. While it can wear on you, remember how adored you always seem to be on here. You didn't buy that by jacking other people like certain Instagram thieves. People just think you're the fucking coolest. Always will be.   Keep the bitchy strong! Some people just deserve it.

Honestly I can understand why the pm'ing didn't work. It doesn't bother me but I'm not particularly sensitive to that kind of stuff. Maybe we could just leave it at the guessing games with no actual color story posted after. Let people dig. They'll still be pissed but it might help with the stealing. As for product pics and early swatches maybe we could do without those. I hate to say it and I appreciate all the info you give greatly but you have to protect yourself and your connections.

OMFG!!  Why do people make the smallest things such a big deal :thdrama:   If there is something on here that someone doesn't enjoy or gets bored with the topic just keep scrolling .... What might be boring or dumb to one person might not be the same feeling to the other person.  I myself really enjoy the little tease pics @erine1881  & @Naynadine  share with us I look forward to those but it is unfortunate that their pics get stolen.  We all come here to enjoy the forum and sometimes we need to vent especially when Lurkers are stealing Specktra info this is what makes a blog forum if you don't like what is being offered on here you can simply just stop visiting. I would hardly call it bitching and I don't think she was ruining anything for anyone.  She stated her opinion just like everyone else does.  Nothing wrong with that.  We are not all going to agree all the time.   And the way some of you are acting right now because she said what she said is really kinda sad.  

Yes we all have our opinions but don't tell me or anyone else who is a member of this forum not to come here if we don't like what is being said.  We have just as much right to be here as you do. How about you not get upset if someone says something you disagree with, like you are doing now.  She stated her opinion, some of us agreed with what she said. If you disagree, great.  There is room for all of us.

Erine, thank you for being the 100% most reliable source on the web for MAC info, more so than any beauty blogger or instagrammer. Unlike the latter, you have nothing to gain-- neither clicks, commission, page views, or followers. When it is 2 f*cking AM and a new member asks, "Can (insert product) work on my (insert skin tone)?" you are there. When the forums and threads are all dead because we spent all our money on the Osbournes, you bring Specktra back to life on a Friday night. You don't HAVE to do these things. Yet you do so graciously and often without thanks. So if you are pissed off that people are stealing info and not crediting you, you have every right to say so HERE. You are a valued member of your community. And if anyone wants to take issue with Erine's trademark snark, I ask you to post the same questions and "MAC, we need the color story PLEASE" prayers to your instagram merchants and your ebayers that mark stuff up 200%. I am sure they wouldn't extend you any courtesy. Erine, please don't let a few people's comments turn you off. I noticed that one of them is someone who was "caught" selling LE stuff at high markup last year... So maybe your "stop stealing my pics" comment hit too close to home!

Came in to say I am skippity skip skip skipping this collection in favor of the October Mattes. And everything Strong Woman said in her post above is right in line with my thoughts. I also think it's ironic that of all the IG users to be talking trash Shop Macez got the nerve....with their haters post previously. Explicative in the watermark aside, I suggest adding that reposting the images is plagiarism in the watermark Since ppl lack common sense and internet etiquette. Erine was waayyy too nice in her post lol. oh. and I love all my Specktra ladies. Whether we agree or disagree on matters. There's a forum I'm a part of that charges like $6 a year/$12 for access to certain premium threads...to be honest, It's not that bad and it cuts out a lot of none sense as many trolls won't pay for the access and the ones who do are Very Easily spotted, and once banned won't be bothered to go through the headache of getting another IP address to use and paying another yearly fee. Yes, I do remember the thought being discussed in a Riri Thread late last year but lost track on what happened with it...ppl balked at the idea? or the price? I gotta do a search.

They exist, but I'm not sure how busy it is. I think most people balked at paying.

I enjoy Erin and the other ladies who dig up and post info just like the rest of u girls and i've said plenty of times that it was greatly appreciated.  This has nothing to do with them being mad because they have every right to be. Just doesn't have to go on for pages lol.  Its hard to just "pass on by" because i like to read everything on the pages so in order to pass it i need to read it first because i won't know if I'm passing something that has nothing to do with the discussion i want to pass in the first place. so its easier said then done lol  I will always side with specktra on the whole pic stealing/crediting situation but at this point its really inevitable so it just sucks the fun out of reading now for me.   Don't take what i say the wrong way ladies because at the end of the day i love you all.  :grouphug:

Unfortunate about all the drama, and that's not aimed at anyone specifically. It's unfortunate in general. I can imagine how it would be incredibly frustrating to have people take things wrongly and not be able to just reach in the computer screen, snatch your images back, and give the person a slap for good measure. This might sound weird but for someone who still considers themselves a newbie it's kinda nice to see drama happening among people who have been here for a very long time. It can be an outsider looking in feeling sometimes (no one's fault) and you wonder if you're the only one noticing certain things, so when it's people here longer you feel like, "Okay so this is a thing." No advice to anyone in particular, just my past experience with forums. Sometimes it is a good thing to log off for a while (and I don't mean a day) and not as a form of threat . Repetitiveness is real and it DOES get annoying, that's normal. It's the net version of, "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" I feel like people feel like they HAVE to come here all the time and yes I get feeling like you have to read ALL THE THINGS, but sometimes skimming is healthy. You wouldn't want to hear every single word even your SO said every single day, so imagine the miscommunication and frustration of that online. Back to Simpsons! I have to say I'm kinda not feeling the packaging, I just don't know...I thought I'd be team 'Buy All The Things!' But the packaging ....the imprint on the blushes is kinda turning me off BUT the lip gloss colors do look gorgeous. Definitely the yellow, but hey maybe with more swatches other colors will look awesome. All in all I'm a little meh so far, I do hope the pigmentation makes up for this feeling.

We offered the option and people did subscribe to premium membership. In fact, when we announced it, our premium subscriptions more than skyrocketed. I think noone really knew what to do with the forum really. Premium memebership isnt buying your way into the info it supports site upgrades and maintenance and gives users a more private place to discuss what they want to discuss.

There's a huge demand for this info. Even if one source decided they were done, something would happen to fill the vacuum eventually. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if MAC stepped in and leaked stuff directly, because let's face it, this place is verrrrry good for their business.  It's unfortunate that there has to be stress here from any direction, but then again, I'm a hippy, dippy type and like my unicorns and rainbows very much, thank you.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter if you like rainbows and unicorns...or razor blades and death. We are all just people! We have flaws and issues and we are all unique! Peoples is peoples! My moms buddy used to say that.. it seems appropriate!

I quite enjoy unicorns and rainbows and all things happy. I am a kid at heart. I still dance in the rain with no shoes on just because. i am care free and happy. But I am a bitch and I'll defend who I am because i love myself. At the end of the day I wouldn't trade this community in for the world because you all are the only ones who love make up as much or more than I do. It is so refreshing to be here.
